Sing for Change Obama (Updated)

A bunch of school kids singing about the One? I have seen this before! In North Korea, China, Soviet Union, ... I think you get the point.

The line between Liberals and Communists is getting thinner and thinner as the Liberals blatantly steal from the ideas of the great Communist leaders. When will the political indoctrination camps begin?

Blair sister-in-law: Gaza world’s largest concentration camp

Gaza is a concentration camp where everyone is starving? Meanwhile, the British celebrity is shopping in shops full of food and buying enough food to either feed a Gazan family for a week, or herself for a day.

I am glad that the Israelis won't let her out. She needs to understand daily life in Gaza. When she has to either convert or get beaten to death, she will learn to love Gaza much more. Fool.

Blair sister-in-law: Gaza world’s largest concentration camp - Israel News, Ynetnews: "“The Palestinians’ suffering is physical, mental and emotional,' she went on, 'there is not a family here in which someone is not in desperate need of work, shelter or food. This is a humanitarian crisis on the scale of Darfur."

How To Make Palestine Go Away

I notice that the Media does not cover the Gazan Civil War with the same verve that they used to cover the "Iraqi Civil War" the the AQ piggies kept trying to incite, with Media assistance. Meanwhile, More Gazan terrorists are killed by other Gazan terrorists than Israelis, so there is nothing worth reporting. Media bias? What Media bias?

It is great to see that Hamas is failing no that they have the power. It is not so great to see that AQ is helping with the fighting. Who do you root for when the fighting is between terrorist thugs?

Israel: How To Make Palestine Go Away: "Israel has refused to free a 1,500, or even a thousand, Palestinians from jail, in return for the release of an Israeli soldier held (for two years) by Hamas. Israel has offered to release 450 Palestinians (and mostly low level offenders, not the killers and terrorist leaders Hamas wants). Thus negotiations with Hamas are deadlocked. Meanwhile, the Israelis have been warning their citizens to beware visiting nations with large Moslem populations, because Hezbollah has begun a large scale effort to kill or kidnap Israelis overseas, this being the easiest way to strike at Israel (at least according to Hezbollah thinking.)

Hamas is in a downward spiral. Opinion polls show that Hamas would receive only 29 percent of the vote if elections were held today, versus 43 percent for Fatah. The problem is that the economic problems in Gaza (largely the result of Hamas insisting that its main goal is the destruction of Israel) have changed attitudes towards Hamas (but not towards Israel, which most Palestinians still want destroyed, or at least hurt in a big way.) The hatred of Israel by Palestinians appears to be implacable, and unlikely to change any time soon. There is growing armed opposition to Hamas in Gaza, largely from al Qaeda affiliated groups. But this opposition is not strong enough to really threaten Hamas control. The Hamas reaction solution to its problems has been to build a police state in Gaza. This is not popular, but Hamas has sufficient popular support (at least a third of the 1.5 million population) to make this work. Egypt is concerned that Hamas will provide a base for Islamic terrorists, and their attacks into Egypt. A solution being talked up in Egypt is the takeover and annexation of Gaza. Israel would have to agree to this, and is apparently giving serious consideration to the idea. That has resurrected the old proposal that the West Bank be given back to Jordan (which used to control it, but give up its claims after the Palestinians decided they were a separate people four decades ago). Jordan already has many Palestinians, who comprise over half their population. Jordan has never been keen on acquiring more Palestinian citizens (the royal family that rules Jordan is Bedouin, and relies on the Bedouin minority to stay in power.)

Meanwhile, Israel has made it very difficult for Palestinians to travel between the West Bank and Gaza. Israeli counter-terror operations in the West Bank are as active as ever, keeping the terrorists neutralized (as they have been for several years.)

Israel has supplied Fatah with several thousand assault rifles and pistols, as well as vehicles (armored and unarmored.) Israel has also released about a thousand West Bank residents from jail. Most of these were being held for low level offenses, but the gesture has made Fatah more popular. "

Terrorists thankful: More room to prep to kill Jews

This is just a snippet of the entire article describing the way the terrorists are using the previously Jewish owned areas of Gaza as training bases. Little kids are being turned into killing machines! It is past time to clean that area up.

Some things I note from the quote I saved here, the Pally kids claim they are being slaughtered, yet the facts report otherwise. Who is telling them this? The terrorists are firing rockets from roofs and schools to protect themselves from return. Why is this kid joining the terrorists who are using him as a human shield to cower behind? Are the majority of Palestinian kids this retarded?

The last thing I note is that the Gazans seem to read the Land for Peace deal differently from the West. In the West, the leaders, all Liberals, said that giving the terrorists more land would lead to Peace. To the terrorists, giving them land meant the Israelis have retreated and the terrorist's pals in the Media have won them a great victory that needs to be followed up on.

Land for Peace is a failure and the fools who advocated it all need a good butt-whooping.

Terrorists thankful: More room to prep to kill Jews: "Also this weekend, the Popular Resistance Committees terrorist organization showcased its own training in the evacuated Gaza Jewish town of Kfar Darom, which previously housed tree-lined Jewish streets replete with synagogues and Jewish seminaries.

Notable about the Committees training was that it included dozens of boys between the ages of nine and twelve, according to Committees leaders.

The Ynetnews Israeli website featured an interview with one young Committees recruit, an 11-year-old boy named Muhammad pictured holding an assault rifle.

'I am learning how to fight the Jews and kill Jewish children,' Muhammad told Ynetnews. 'I would rather die fighting the occupation than die at home from a missile, which is what happened to hundreds of Palestinian children.'

Committees terror group spokesman Muhammad Abdel-Al, also known as Abu Abir, told WND yesterday his group was not brainwashing children.

'We are not educating them on hatred. This is our strategy – to turn all the Palestinian people into weapons of resistance,' Abdel-Al said when questioned about his group's use of boys.

Israel evacuated Gush Katif's nearly 10,000 Jewish residents during the country's retreat under fire from the Gaza Strip in August 2005."

Hizballah high-up falls to his death at rocket pad on Israeli border

The UN is almost aiding the terrorists in their efforts to fortify in direct violation of the UN Resolutions. Why are they just standing back and allowing this to happen?

Why are the Israeli politicians keeping their military on a short leash while the terrorists are openly preparing for war?

It is past time to bomb that area flat. It is almost a criminal act that neither the UN or local governments are willing to stop these acts of open aggression.

DEBKAfile - Hizballah high-up falls to his death at rocket pad on Israeli border: "The geography of the accident Tuesday, Aug. 26, belied the reiterated claims of Israeli ministers and UN officials that Hizballah’s rockets had been pushed back from the Lebanese-Israeli border, under the terms of the Resolution 1701 ceasefire which ended the 2006 Lebanon War.

Jamal Amin Salah, 51, a Hizballah operations executive, stood on the rooftop of a building at the Lebanese Yaroun village, less than half a kilometer from the Israeli border. He was discussing with his men how far inside Israeli territory the rockets installed at the launch pads in the village could reach, when he fell to his death.

DEBKAfile’s military sources confirm that, not only has Hizballah returned to its old positions on the Israeli border - contradicting statements by prime minister Ehud Olmert and defense minister Ehud Barak - but the Iran-backed Shiite terrorists are working feverishly on the construction of a new line of fortified military positions, including rocket-launching pads, right on top of the Israeli border fence.

Neither Israeli Defense Forces nor UN peacekeepers have interfered with this barefaced violation of international agreements."

Palestinian factions reject deploying Arab security forces in Gaza

The only way that the "Palestinians" will end the slaughter of women and children is if they run out of people to kill. The efforts of even their fellow Muslims does not matter if they are not allowed to kill and slaughter and maim.

Once again, I am forced to say that Gaza just needs to be razed and the "people" removed. They have been reduced to a subhuman, blood thirsty mass of animals. They are like wild boars that have developed a taste for human flesh - too dangerous to allow to exist. Can anyone think of a way to end the crisis besides killing all of one of the sides? Well, the one side will gladly live with the other if allowed, but we need to to find a way to get to that point.

The Nazis trained the original "Palestinian Resistance" very well.

Palestinian factions reject deploying Arab security forces in Gaza - People's Daily Online: "The proposal to redeploy Arab security forces in the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip has been widely rejected by most of the Palestinian factions, which was even compared to a new occupation of Gaza similar to the one Israel ended in September 2005.

Leaders of the Palestinian factions, mainly Hamas and Islamic Jihad (Holy War) strongly rejected the proposal which was welcomed by the leadership of the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah.

The leaders of the factions said that the mission of the Arab security forces, if they are deployed in Gaza 'will be protecting the Israeli occupation and ending the Palestinian armed resistance against Israel.'

Palestinian Authority leaders had earlier announced that they have officially discussed the idea with the Egyptian leaders and other Arab countries to deploy Arab security forces in the Gaza Strip, which has been ruled by Hamas movement since mid June last year.

They said that the role of the Arab security forces is to rebuild the Palestinian security apparatuses and restore order and discipline in the Gaza Strip, which had witnessed violent fighting between rival Fatah and Hamas movement."

Blockheads vs. the blockade

I see that Israel decided to ignore my advice about locking these fools up in Sderot, but they did the smart thing, which was to let the ship through since it was already cleared and certified by Cypriot authorities as being weapon free.

See what I miss when I go out of town for a few days over the weekend? Thanks for finding all this SoccerDad.

Soccer Dad: Blockheads vs. the blockade: "Never mind that Israel allows large quantities of goods into Gaza and the Palestinians themselves smuggle even more in via tunnels from Egypt. But a bunch of anti-Israel activists decided to make some PR and "run" Israel's naval blockade of Gaza.

Two wooden boats carrying dozens of human rights activists reached the Gaza Strip on Saturday afternoon after the Israeli navy decided not to hinder the challenge to Israel's blockade of the Palestinian enclave. Thousands of Palestinians turned out to welcome the group, which brought token humanitarian aid, including hearing aids and balloons.

The Post's headline proclaims that the boats "broke" the blockade, but Israel let them pass unhindered.

(In some of the early publicity - it wasn't news, it was unvarnished PR - it was noted that a Holocaust survivor was going to be on the boat. The Post's PR release doesn't mention her among the celebrities on the boat. Did she change her mind or was the Post just unaware of her presence.)

Meryl points out that since the ship of fools didn't meet any resistance they charged that Israel jammed their instruments to prevent them from reaching Gaza.

However Backspin points out that the activists may not have such an easy time leaving Gaza as they did arriving.

And despite the crowds cheering their arrival, left unreported by many organizations was

once it turned out these boats contain too little food and mostly activists...some people left the beach disappointed."

Protest boats seek an end to Gaza siege

If these idiots want to help the poor innocent people of Gaza, then arrest them for attempting to break the siege and jail them in Sderot. If they are killed by their good friends in Gaza, that is just tough. After a few months of bombardment they might wonder why only food and medical supplies are allowed to travel from Israel into Gaza. If they STILL don't understand, then they are even bigger fools than they seem in this.

I am sure that these fools are nice enough individuals, but they must have IQs in the lowest quarter of humanity. Gullible, yet useful, fools. Stalin would have loved them.

AKI - Adnkronos international Middle East: Protest boats seek an end to Gaza siege: "Two boats carrying more than 40 international human rights activists left the Mediterranean island of Cyprus on Friday for the Gaza Strip in a bid to break Israel's blockade in the Palestinian Territories.

The activists, members of the Free Gaza Movement, fear they may be stopped and arrested by Israeli Defense Forces as they seek to draw attention to what they call the "illegality" of Israel's actions.

"Our goal is to break the blockade that Israel has imposed on the Gazan people," Huweida Arraf from the movement told Adnkronos International (AKI) in a telephone interview from one of the boats.

"What Israel does is to justify the siege and blockade under a security pretext. Under this security pretext, they are starving and humiliating an entire people."

The crew consists of people from 16 different countries and includes a Greek parliamentarian,Tasos Kourakis, Lauren Booth, sister-in-law of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and an 81-year old Catholic nun.

The protesters plan to deliver 5,000 balloons for children, as well as hearing aids to a Palestinian charity.

...

"Israel is an occupying power, and as such they are keeping 1.5 million civilians under siege, effectively instituting collective punishment which is illegal under international law," said Arraf, a lawyer who also runs the International Solidarity Movement.

"Israel is breaking international law. It (the siege) is also immoral and illegal. This is a man-made humanitarian catastrophe. Everybody in this boat is appalled that the internationally community has not spoken against this."

The two boats, the 21-metre long 'SS Free Gaza' and an 18-metre boat called 'Liberty' left the southern port of Larnaca in Cyprus early on Friday morning."

Palestinian Militias Recruit Kids In Summer Camps

Palestinian Militias Recruit Kids In Summer Camps - MiddleEastNewsline: "The Hamas regime and its militia allies have been recruiting children in summer camps.
Hamas, Islamic Jihad and other militias have established summer camps in the central Gaza Strip for paramilitary training. Palestinian sources said the training included Islamic combat indoctrination, rudiments of light weapons, reconnaissance and sabotage.
'There is no real military training here,' an organizer of one of the camps said. 'But we do form a strong connection with the best of the campers so that they could join us at a later stage.'"

Solomonia: Ben-Dror Yemini: The Hate Ship

Solomonia: Ben-Dror Yemini: The Hate Ship: "The Hamas regime in Gaza decided recently to show the world what it knows what to do. Not that we did not know, but the timing was important. Let's remember how it all began. During the violent and brutal [takeover] of Hamas in the Gaza Strip, the Hamas hooligans forced their prisoners to lie down and massacred them. If someone raised his head they shot him again to make sure he was dead. Most of the leading television channels in the world did not screen these pictures. Wonder why. The sequel was in the same vein. Hamas turned out to be an exact copy of the Taliban. Women were forced, under threat, to wear the burka, more men are bearded. Christian institutions were attacked.

If there are still pockets of resistance, Hamas knows how to deal with them. The last wave of violence included gas treatment. Pipes were thrust into intimate parts of the body, and gas was pumped in through the pipes. Nine people were killed, some undoubtedly in cold blood. [Note: This refers to the recent fighting involving the Hilles Clan. The gas treatment was related by members of the clan and reported in the Hebrew press, but not elsewhere AFAIK. -S] It can be assumed that there were many more, but under the oppressive control of the Hamas, no one can know for sure. Massacre for its own sake -- for that is what Islamic extremism knows what to do. That is what happened in Algeria, where 100,000 people were slaughtered. That is what is happening in Darfur, where 400,000 people have already been killed. That is what is happening in Somalia, where the number of victims is unknown. That is what happened under the Taliban regime. Hamas is acting according to the same rules. That is what political Islam knows. That is what Hamas is doing."

IDF Soldiers Risked Lives To Rescue Terrorist Clan

Why the heck are Israelis taking time off from fighting the terrorists to SAVE the terrorists? This is definitely a political move to make some of the Gazans like the Israelis, or at least hate them less.

I doubt it will work! This is a stunt.

IDF Soldiers Risked Lives To Rescue Terrorist Clan - Defense/Middle East - Israel News - Arutz Sheva: "IDF soldiers risked their lives Saturday in order to save the Fatah-aligned Hilles terrorist clan from the Hamas army in Gaza. The rescue effort was performed under Hamas fire said Colonel Ron Asherov, head of the northern brigade in the Gaza Belt region.

'Our soldiers could hear the bullets flying past their ears as they evacuated the Palestinians to our side,' said Col. Asherov.

Lieutenant-Colonel (res.) Yoel Tzur termed the rescue effort 'idiotic' and charged that the government ordered it as another measure to help Palestinian Authority (PA) chairman Mahmoud Abbas.

Abbas, after initially having asked Israel to accept the terrorists, reversed his stand and refused political asylum to all but about a dozen.

'We show humanitarian sensitivity, but how would we react if five of our soldiers had been killed,' Tzur asked rhetorically.' He added, 'We are talking about terrorists who attack us with Kassam rockets and hold kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Shalit.'"

Israel: Deal With The Devil

Is the fighting with Hamas forcing Fatah to move to a more moderate position to survive? What an interesting concept.

I love that it could be happening! I never would have predicted that Iranian pressure to kill the Jews might lead to Peace in the Middle East. Divide and conquer?

Israel: Deal With The Devil: "The growing war between Hamas and Fatah has presented Fatah with the option to turn on terrorist groups, and form an alliance with Israel. This is seen as the only solution to the dozens of West Bank Israeli checkpoints that slow traffic to a crawl, but are considered essential in limiting the movement of Palestinian terrorists. Fatah, however, has been spouting 'hate Israel' propaganda for decades, and turning kind and gentle would split the organization. But Fatah is being forced to ally itself with Israel, because Hamas operatives in the West Bank are apparently under orders to destroy Fatah there any way they can, and take control. This involves the use of Islamic radical death squads, that murder Moslems for not being Moslem enough, and Arab Christians for not being Moslem. Thus Fatah is fighting for its life, and making common cause with Israel whether it likes it or not."

Gaza smuggling tunnels are for milk, say Palestinians

Can even the Liberals believe this set of lies? HAHAHAHAHA! This is too Funny!

Gaza smuggling tunnels are for milk, say Palestinians: "Palestinian officials from the Gaza Strip have distributed a set of carefully-staged photographs they say are evidence that the smuggling tunnels running under the Gaza-Egypt border are for milk and other essential goods, not weapons.

The photographs show masked Palestinian militants lifting jugs of milk and sacks of baby food from the entrance to one of the tunnels on the Gaza side of the border.

Israel insists that the tunnels, of which intelligence estimates indicate there are hundreds, are used to import small arms and advanced weapons like heavy mortar shells, anti-tank missiles and anti-aircraft missiles. The tunnels are also said to be the conduit via which the Palestinians receive the material used to build their Kassam rockets.

Hamas has acknowledged Israel's position by insisting during ceasefire negotiations last month that it would not agree to halt smuggling efforts as part of the truce."

Three covert Palestinian networks coordinate attacks in Jerusalem, say security sources

The terrorists are happy to work together because they know that the Liberals around the world are on their side and want to see the West destroyed. Thank the Lord for the few world leaders, like Bush, who are willing to fight back against these pigs.

This is not a good development, but is logical considering how they are changing to consolidate their meager wins in politics and the Media.

DEBKAfile - Three covert Palestinian networks coordinate attacks in Jerusalem, say security sources: "Masses of weapons and explosives are cached in the Palestinian villages and districts of Jerusalem, where three Palestinian terrorist networks are working together to coordinate attacks in the city, according to security-intelligence sources. They decide whether the lone killers use firearms, explosives, knives or mechanical weapons, like the diggers which smashed through Jerusalem’s main streets twice this month. With much of Jerusalem under intense development and Arabs employed at many building sites, police fear a future attack could be carried out by toppling a crane on a densely populated district.

Shin Bet director Yuval Diskin said Wednesday, even before the second bulldozer attack which injured 29 people, that going into Jerusalem’s Shuafat is more dangerous than the Jenin refugee camp. “A security vacuum encircles Jerusalem,” he said, “through which terrorists are free to enter the capital.”

Meir Sheetrit, minister of interior, reported after research that the Palestinian family reunion program approved by Israel had been used to plant scores of active terrorists in the West Bank and Jerusalem.

Shin Bet probes in the Arab districts of Jerusalem have turned up close cooperation between Hamas and the fiercely radical Hizb al-Tahir, which is attracting increasing numbers of Palestinian terrorists to its ranks.

Hizb al-Tahrir now controls the mosques on Temple Mount and its environs, having pushed out and replaced the Muslim Waqf sentry posts at the shrine and organized them on the lines of a terrorist militia.

Mahmoud Abbas’ Fatah and pro-Jordanian elements, which once ruled Arab sectors of Jerusalem, have lost out to the Islamic fundamentalists.

According to DEBKAfile’s security sources, the Galilee Liberation Brigades – Imad Mughniyeh fighters, an offshoot of the Lebanese Hizballah among Israeli Arabs, works hand in glove with the Hizb and Hamas.

Counter-terror experts fear that the police, including the Border Guards, which are in charge of security in Jerusalem, are out of touch.

According to one official, their methods of operation were adequate for the traditional law and order tasks of yesterday – but cannot cope with the cycle of terror overtaking Jerusalem in the past year. Jerusalem needs young, vigorous police chiefs with special training in combating terror and organized crime - which often overlap - to replace the old school of police officers who still categorize every attack according to outdated criteria which place terrorism and crime in separate boxes. They then complain they are helpless against the new brand of terrorist, the one-wolf killer."

Second Palestinian bulldozer rampage injures 24 on Jerusalem main street

The Media kept claiming that the first terrorist to do this attack was just a lone-wolf, even though the GLB claimed it. Now they do it again, will the terrorists finally get credit for it?

The Palestinians complain about the lack of their people being allowed to work in non-Palestinian areas, but when they do get work they use the access to kill. What a great way to make it seem like they want peace.

DEBKAfile - Second Palestinian bulldozer rampage injures 24 on Jerusalem main street: "A quick-thinking passing civilian and a border guard shot the driver dead after five vehicles and a bus were rammed opposite the Liberty Bell Park on King David Street, 200 yards from King David Hotel where UK premier Brown stayed Monday. Twenty-four people were injured, one seriously. Two are children.

The bulldozer burst out of a nearby building site in Yemin Moshe.

The terrorist was Ghassen Abu Tir, 22, from Umm Tuba, a Palestinian village in southeast Jerusalem, who was employed at the building site. He was a relative of Muhammed Abu Tir, a Hamas lawmaker held in an Israeli jail.

The Hizballah-sponsored Galilee Liberation Brigades claimed this attack like the first bulldozer rampage of July 2 when another Jerusalem Palestinian killed three people and caused heavy damage on Jerusalem’s Jaffa Street."

Palestinians: Israel uses rats agains Arabs

This is either funny or scary.

Funny: trained Jewish rats. HAHAHAHA!
Scary: Muslims pumping the city full of poisons and claiming it is to kill rats.

Palestinians: Israel uses rats against J'lem Arabs | Israel | Jerusalem Post: "'Rats have become an Israeli weapon to displace and expel Arab residents of the occupied Old City of Jerusalem,' Wafa reported under the title, 'Settlers flood the Old City of Jerusalem with rats.' The report continued: 'Over the past two months, dozens of settlers come to the alleyways and streets of the Old City carrying iron cages full of rats. They release the rats, which find shelter in open sewage systems.'

Wafa quoted unnamed Arab residents as saying that they had tried to eliminate the rats with various poisons, but to no avail."

Hizballah’s No. 2: War not over, more Israeli soldiers may be abducted

When you give a thug what he wants, he will try it again. And again.

Send in the military and fight these scum to a standstill and then kill off the leaders. Let commandos hunt them like the Nazi hunters are still hunting down the Nazis. Pig bastards.

DEBKAfile - Hizballah’s No. 2: War not over, more Israeli soldiers may be abducted: "Sheikh Naim Kassem, deputy secretary-general of Hizballah, said Saturday, July 19, that abductions of more Israeli soldiers may not be ruled out “in order to achieve the organization’s goals.” He declared that his pro-Iranian Shiite group remained at war with Israel.

His statement to the Qatari Al-Arab paper was at variance with the tenor of the speech his boss, Hassan Nasrallah, made in Beirut three days ago, after completing a bodies-for-prisoner exchange with Israel.

The war would go on as long Israel “occupies the Shaba Farms, the village of Ghajar and the Kfar Shuba hills [Mt. Dov on the Hermon],” said Kassem.

Regarding future kidnaps of Israeli soldiers, he said “I won't speak about this issue because it has to do with military activity in the struggle with Israel and with the question of whether this confrontation will demand such an action. These are details which will become known in the future.”

Hizballah had yet to exact revenge for the assassination of military commander Imad Mughnyieh in February, he said.

The tenor of Hassan Nassrallah’s speech in Beirut, after trading the remains of two kidnapped Israeli soldiers Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser for five Hizballah prisoners, was different. He stressed the importance of inter-factional dialogue in Lebanon as his organization’s first priority.

This reflected Tehran’s current strategy of diplomatic engagement with Washington, whereas his deputy Kassem spoke on Saturday in bellicose terms of continuing the war with Israel, more in keeping with the Hizballah’s war preparations."

Hamas calls for all-Palestinian West Bank terror offensive

Hamas, the regional leader in Peace. They have a Peace Treaty and still continue to call for war. In the name of Allah and Mohammad, the breaker of treaties and slaughterer of the children. When he was not molesting them.

Peace be upon him. Rest in peace in your forgotten grave.

DEBKAfile - Hamas calls for all-Palestinian West Bank terror offensive: "Hamas media Wednesday night broadcast a call to all Palestinian organizations to enlist for an all-out terrorist offensive against Israeli military and civilian targets on the West Bank.

The immediate response was a bombing attack on an IDF vehicle on Route 60 south of the West Bank town of Hebron. No one was hurt.

Our sources add that Hamas is not threatening to end the Gaza truce.

Its West Bank terror offensive was announced to counter the IDF’s crackdown for the past week on its burgeoning presence on the West Bank by shutting down its institutions and sources of funding. The last straw for the Islamist Palestinian group was Israel’s military raid Tuesday of the Beit al Mal business mall in Nablus. The soldiers shut the center down for business, along with Hamas-owned bakeries and other profitable concerns.

DEBKAfile’s Middle East sources report that in Cairo, the talks Egyptian intelligence minister Gen. Omar Suleiman has been holding with Hamas leaders from Damascus and Gaza have reached an impasse over scaled up Hamas demands of Egypt and Israel:

1. Egypt must pledge the immediate reopening of the Rafah border terminal twice or three times a week without waiting for Israel to concur as required by international accords.

2. Israel must allow twenty times the present tonnage of goods to transit the Sufa and Nahal Oz crossings into Gaza

3. Israel must transfer to Hamas in Gaza the share of customs duties due to the Gaza Strip (proportionate to its population), which are deducted on incoming Palestinian commodities, instead of handing the entire sum to the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah.

Their leaders do not threaten outright to end the informal truce in Gaza, but they are avoiding discussing the fate of the Israeli soldier Hamas kidnapped more than two years ago."

A warped reaction

Ms Phillips consistently leave me cheering. I have been trying to figure out how to report on this incident myself during a busy day and she has me beat. As usual.

I will post other links after her story, just because this is too twisted.

The Spectator: "In Jerusalem today an attack claimed three lives and injured at least 45 people after an Arab in a bulldozer deliberately upended a bus and mowed down several cars in an attempt to kill as many people as he could.

But for the Guardian and the BBC, the most important fact to note was that the bulldozer driver was then shot dead. The Guardian headlined its report

Man shot dead after Jerusalem bulldozer rampage

while the BBC, whose website report is currently headlined

Deadly Jerusalem bulldozer attack

initially ran the headline

Israel bulldozer driver shot dead.

This was captured by Honest Reporting which commented:

...this example offers further evidence of the BBC's mindset - the initial instinct to portray Israel as an aggressor and a Palestinian as a victim even if that Palestinian was actively involved in a terrorist attack against innocent civilians...The BBC's very own correspondent Tim Franks even witnessed much of the incident from his office window. The BBC can have no excuse for not having the basic facts of the story in front of them from the very beginning.

True, the BBC did quickly change its headline; but even so, the warped reflex reaction is a dead giveaway. No surprise, but sickening nonetheless."

Jihad Watch: "Someone like Charles simply doesn't make a story up"

Jihad Watch: "Someone like Charles simply doesn't make a story up": ""Someone like Charles simply doesn't make a story up"

Charles Enderlin is the French journalist responsible for the notorious Muhammad Al-Dura footage that ignited an orgy of mass murder by Palestinian Arab jihadists. The footage has been proven to be a hoax. But journalist Anne-Elisabeth Moutet finds that her journalistic colleagues are somewhat less enthusiastic about admitting a hoax when it exonerates the Israelis and the "extreme right."

"L'Affaire Enderlin: Being a French journalist means never having to say you're sorry," by Anne-Elisabeth Moutet in the Weekly Standard, July 7:

[...] Having dug in his heels in time-honored fashion, Enderlin, a seasoned journalist and a French-Israeli dual national who'd spent most of his adult life at the same job, never imagined the al-Dura story would dog him. He was covered by his superiors in the hierarchy, affording him the Zen-like serenity achievable in large French organizations, which are profoundly top-down and basically unchanged in spirit since the court of the Sun King. His coverage of Israel and the Palestinian Authority, while regularly criticized by pro-Israeli groups, was highly esteemed by his peers. He had produced a well-informed documentary series on the Oslo Accords, the peace process, and the 2000 Camp David talks, tied to a book that has been published in English; and, while it could be argued that he was perhaps too close to some of his sources (several of the parties to the peace talks actually held discussions at the France 2 bureau, loaned by a helpful Enderlin as discreet neutral ground), this was a notable achievement. Such a person could not, in the order of things, be seriously threatened by a bunch of activists or scruffy bloggers behind their computer screens questioning his professional judgment. When he dismissed accusations of a cover-up by explaining that he had chosen "not to show the full footage of the child's agony," which would have been "unbearable," he fully expected to be taken on trust."
