Counter-Terrorism: Terrorism Pioneers Recognized: "One of the major U.S. counter-terror organizations, the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) recently posted something of a reminder on their web site. It was all about the LTTE (Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam), a separatist Tamil group from the island of Sri Lanka. The FBI pointed out that in three decades of operations, the LTTE has killed over 70,000 people and pioneered the use of suicide bombers. This included inventing the explosive belt. The LTTE has also killed two national leaders (of Sri Lanka and India) and many more senior government officials than Islamic terrorists. Al Qaeda learned quite a lot about terrorism from the LTTE, which is basically a secular organizations (although most members are Hindu).

But even more importantly, the LTTE pioneered fund raising techniques that have greatly aided Islamic terrorists. The LTTE developed methods which enabled them to raise large amounts of money from expatriate Tamils (who are native to southern India). The LTTE was also able to raise money from Tamils in southern India, but it was the techniques of pretending to collect money for charity work, then using it to fund terrorism, that really caught al Qaedas attention. It eventually caught the FBIs attention as well, leading to the LTTE being declared a terrorist organization, and many of its fund raising operations shut down."

Pardoned terrorists planning suicide attacks

When a pardoned terrorist is rearrested for terrorist acts, can they be shot out of hand? Since they are never going to be reformed and able to rejoin the human race, should they be removed?

A Brigades leader – Ahmed Senakre, the brother of the group's West Bank chief – was killed during yesterday's operation when he tried to escape the IDF siege. The three others were arrested.

The Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, Fatah's military wing, is listed by the State Department as a terror group. It took responsibility, along with the Islamic Jihad terror organization, for every suicide bombing in Israel in 2005 and 2006 and for thousands of shootings and rocket attacks."

Israel justified the cutoff because of continuous rocket attacks by Gaza militants. Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Arye Meckel said the Gaza Strip continues to receive 70 percent of its electricity supply directly from Israel, which would not be affected, and another 5 percent from Egypt.

The blackout 'is a Hamas ploy to pretend there is some kind of crisis to attract international sympathy,' he told The Associated Press."

Investigators were trying to determine if the bodies belonged to gunmen or kidnaping victims kept at the house, said a spokesman for Baja California state prosecutors who was not authorized to be quoted by name.

Soldiers, state and local police were sent in to help control the three-hour shootout that began when federal agents prepared to raid a house in a Tijuana neighborhood near the U.S. border.

Earlier, Baja California state attorney general Rommel Moreno said in a news release that one assailant was killed and four police wounded in the shootout, that comes amid a surge in violence across the border from San Diego."

Islam: More rules than any other religion.

They think that Islam is the most popular religion because it is growing the fastest. I think rules against NOT having children might have a greater influence than reasons to convert. Or maybe it it the rules against leaving Islam if you value your life. Or a combination.

Supporting the Deoband's fatwa, prominent Muslim body Jamia-Ulema-e-Hind's spokesman Abdul Hameed Nomani, also an Islamic scholar, says: ''Such a method can be adopted. It is permissible.''

Citing a recent government report, he said more than 40 per cent Indian Muslims use contraceptives.

However, Nomani termed permanent contraception as ''unlawful'' (haram) and against Islamic law."

French Muslims getting more devout, poll shows : Religion General: "A growing number of French Muslims say they are practising believers, according to a survey for the Catholic daily Le Croix made public on Thursday. In the poll, 70 per cent of respondents said they adhered to the Islamic laws on fasting during the holy month of Ramadan. In 2001, the figure had stood at 60 per cent.

In addition, 70 per cent said they were believers in the faith, and one third of those said they practised it. Of those asked, 39 per cent said they prayed daily, compared to 33 per cent in 2001.

The poll also found that the number of Muslims that take part in Friday prayers has grown from 16 per cent in 1994 to 23 per cent in 2007.

The survey confirmed that France's Muslims are far more devout than the rest of the French population, which is becoming less religious."

I wonder why the Islamic schools think they can ignore the Rule of Law in the Western nations? Is it because the West traditionally caves in on every demand anyway? Or could it be that the West is so weak that the Islamists know that they are going to rule there soon anyway?

State Secretary of Education Sharon Dijksma had a study done and depending on the outcome will close schools which do not fulfill the legal requirements.

Nahed Selim thinks it's not enough. 'By far in most Islamic schools radical Islam has deeply penetrated into the contents of the instruction. A book like 'the way of the Muslim' (De Weg van de Moslim), which was widely condemned by the politicians in 2004 and should be removed from the mosque, belongs to the standard package of textbooks.'

'De weg van de moslim' (which argues for the killing of homos, infidels and obstinate women) made the news after AIVD reports about the Tawheed mosque in Amsterdam. According to Selim the books are still being used in a great number of mosques and the Islamic College of Amsterdam."

The gun was ready to fire when police pulled over Mahmud Jihad, 26, in Rooty Hill on Tuesday.

Also in a bag in the back seat was a tazer, Mount Druitt local court heard yesterday.

A further three pistols - including a Russian semi-automatic - were found when police raided Jihad's Shalvey home later the same day.

Along with the cache of guns and ammunition found in the bedroom of the builder's labourer, was $59,550 in cash.

Jihad yesterday faced court on 15 charges, including having a firearm in a public place.

The court heard Jihad was sentenced to 12 months' jail in 2005 for similar offences."

Even the Pakistani military is embracing martyrdom?

With huge bands of terrorists working together to capture forts, they are moving beyond terrorism. If US forces had been aiding in the defense, the terrorists would have all been slaughtered like the pigs they are. Still, losing seven guys while killing about fifty is not a bad trade. May they rest in peace.

I pray that Pakistan's nuclear bombs are still safe. Maybe the US will have to do a raid on them to remove them to safety at Fort Knox.

A reader of the Corner sent in an idea that I think was a pretty good suggestion: The Republicans stop their feuding and their fighting and combine announcing Fred Thompson as president, Mitt Romney as Vice President, McCain as Secretary of Defense, and Giuliani as Secretary of Homeland Security. This is a cool idea. Now, anyone who is a not a moron likes everything about Fred Thompson, so he'd be a great president. Mitt Romney is a conservative in training, so he'd be good for vice president. The only thing McCain is right on is the war, so why not put him a position where that's the only view that matters. And Giuliani would be a great Secretary of Homeland Security if he would just prove his bona fides on illegal immigration by beating a Mexican drug smuggler to death with a Maglite -- something I'm sure he'd be more than willing to do.

In addition, it could be announced that Mike Huckabee will be the White House Press Secretary where he can use his talking skills for good instead of evil. And Ron Paul could be made a security guard at the National Archives so he can make sure no one messes with the Constitution.

Of course, the appologetics also like to say that Islam does not accept forced conversions. Just like Mohammad never rode an army up to a village and demand they convert or die. On Wednesday January 4, 2006 a black mother gave evidence at an inquest. At Southwark Coroners Court in southeast London, Ruth Marriott spoke of the last days of her son Adrian Marriott. He had been an accountancy student, but was also a gang member, belonging to the Peel Den Crew. He was shot five times in the head on June 8, 2004, a few weeks before his 21st birthday. His body was found in parkland off Barrington Road in Brixton.

52-year-old Ruth Marriott told the inquest: 'We heard the shooting. We heard gun fire. The thought did strike me that Adrian could be involved, but it was a fleeting thought. Then we heard from police the following evening what had happened. Adrian was told on the Sunday prior to his death that he would be killed if he did not become a Muslim by the Wednesday, which was the day he died.'

John Sampson, the coroner, asked if her son had taken the threat seriously. She answered: 'I do not think he did.' Sampson later declared that Adrian Marriot had been unlawfully killed.

Confirmed: Barack Obama Practiced Islam

It is not much of a story, but Obama DID attend the mosque with his father. He WAS listed as a Muslim on his school papers. According to Sharia Law Obama is a Muslim because it is illegal to leave Islam. If your parent is Islamic, then you are too. Leaving is illegal and carries a death sentence.

Of course, the Christian church he loves to talk about is not much of an improvement since it denies being American. You should check that out.

In a time when religion is becoming key to the world dynamic, it is ludacris to have a lapsed Muslim and bigoted Christian in a position of power. He should be marginalized and shunned.

In a recent analysis, “Was Barack Obama a Muslim?” I surveyed available evidence and found it suggests “Obama was born a Muslim to a non-practicing Muslim father and for some years had a reasonably Muslim upbringing under the auspices of his Indonesian step-father.” In response, David Brock’s organization, Media Matters for America (MMfA), which calls itself a “progressive research and information center dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting conservative misinformation in the U.S. media,” has criticized one of my sources of information.

MMfA contends in “Daniel Pipes relied on disputed LA Times article to revive Obama-Muslim falsehood,” that “key aspects” of a March 16, 2007, Los Angeles Times article I quoted were later challenged by another newspaper account, “History of schooling distorted,” by Kim Barker in the Chicago Tribune on March 25."

Amin al-Haq, 48, an Afghan-born doctor described as a security coordinator for al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden, reportedly has been arrested in Pakistan.

Haq was arrested in Lahore, Pakistan's second largest city and capital of its Punjab province, The Nation reported Monday quoting Afghan sources. Haq, apparently captured two days ago, was reported undergoing police interrogation.

There has been no official Pakistani confirmation of the arrest, other reports said.

Haq was described as a leading al-Qaida fugitive from Afghanistan and a close associate of late Afghan jihadi leader Maulvi Younas Khalis.

Haq was a member of an Afghan delegation that went to Sudan in 1996 to bring bin Laden to Afghanistan, the report said. After bin Laden's arrival in Afghanistan, Haq became close to him, the report said.

Haq is the second leading al-Qaida operative from Afghanistan apprehended in Lahore, the report said. Earlier, Mohammad Rahim, described as Osama's driver in Afghanistan, was also arrested in Lahore, the report said.

One of the attacks in the capital killed an American soldier — one of two U.S. deaths announced on Sunday.

Shortly before the bomber struck the Army Day festivities, about two dozen Iraqi soldiers were standing outside the offices of a local non-governmental agency pushing for unity in Iraq. The troops, their AK-47 rifles raised in the air, chanted pro-army slogans and a common anti-insurgent taunt: "Where are the terrorists today?"

Associated Press photographer Hadi Mizban was about five yards away from the suicide attacker when he blew himself up on a narrow street in the central Karradah area.

"The blast happened as civilians were giving flowers to soldiers and sticking them in the muzzles of their guns," recalled Mizban, an Iraqi national. "It was a jubilant scene."

Afterward, he said, the street was littered with bodies, weapons and shoes. Dazed soldiers and policemen carried their bloodied colleagues to nearby pickup trucks that whisked them to a hospital.

"There was a severed head on the street and some of the soldiers that I was photographing earlier were dead. Those who survived panicked, pulling back from the scene and shooting in the air," said the 40-year-old Mizban.

Among the dead were four police officers, three Iraqi soldiers and four civilians, a police officer said on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to reporters. At least 17 people were injured.

A U.S. military statement said five people were killed. The discrepancy could not immediately be explained.

The motion argues that the Stolen Valor Act of 2005, under which water board member Xavier Alvarez was charged, is incompatible with the First Amendment because it restricts free speech by criminalizing false claims of military honors.

Alvarez, an elected representative to the Three Valleys Municipal Water District, said last year at a water district meeting that he was awarded the Medal of Honor for his deeds as a Marine.

After admitting he never served in the military, he was charged with violating the Stolen Valor Act. He pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanor charge.

Alvarez’s lawyer Brianna J. Fuller argued in the motion to dismiss, which will be heard Jan. 14 in federal court, that “protecting the reputation of military decorations” is not a compelling enough reason to place “restrictions on false statements.”

A lot of other useful information, that never makes the news, is collected every day. These little bits of data are filling in pictures of who current terrorist leaders and technicians are, and where they may be. The army's use of databases has made every little bit of data more useful. Enormous amounts of data have been collected on the families of known terrorists. A lot of these violent groups tend to be family affairs. In Iraq, people tend to trust only family, and even there one must be careful. So American troops, armed with quick access to these personnel files, know who to arrest, who to let go, and who to question intensively. Those being questioned are also shaken at the depth of knowledge their interrogators often have of who's who in Iraq, even at the village or neighborhood level.
