Only three terrorists were waterboarded

Weird, I bet MSNBC choked trying to write this. I bet they are putting it down as a Vast Right Wing Conspiracy and Bush Lies. What else does the Left and Media think about? They are so deranged about this President that they can not see straight.

Too bad it is only three people this was used on. I can imagine using it just for fun down at Gitmo. At least that is the image that is implanted by the Media and furthered by the Left. Stupid gits have never been in the military and do not understand how professional they are.

U.S.: Al-Qaida shifting to Pakistan - Security- msnbc.com: "Hayden said that Khalid Sheik Mohammed — the purported mastermind of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States — and Abu Zubayda and Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri were subject to the harsh interrogations in 2002 and 2003. Waterboarding is an interrogation technique that critics call torture.

Waterboarding induces a feeling of imminent drowning with the restrained subject’s mouth covered and water poured over his face.

“Waterboarding taken to its extreme, could be death, you could drown someone,” McConnell acknowledged. He said waterboarding remains a technique in the CIA’s arsenal, but it would require the consent of the president and legal approval of the attorney general."

Terrorism Experts say Libyans are third force behind al-Qaeda

Now that the Saudis and Egyptians are being weakened by the relentless international attack on AQ, the Libyans are stepping in to take over. Will the next US president have the strength to face them that President Reagan did? Or will the next president take the Carter/Clinton way and ignore the problem?

AKI - Adnkronos international Terrorism: Experts say Libyans are third force behind al-Qaeda: "According to US counter-terrorism experts from West Point's military academy, the Libyan connection inside the terrorist group al-Qaeda is very strong and second only to the Egyptian and Saudi forces.

In consultations with West Point's experts by Arabic language newspaper al-Sharq al-Awsat, the assassination of Abu Layth al-Libi, an al-Qaeda field commander, has not diminished these connections.

After the Egyptian and Saudi terrorist forces which dominate the Jihadist movement. 'There has been a recent rise of Libyans inside the al-Qaeda network,' explains terrorism expert Vahid Brown.

'Today, Egyptians and Saudis control the military strategies and sources of funding, but there are various signals that point out the increasing influence and usage of Libyans.'

In the last few months many propaganda videos have appeared on the Internet showing Libyan militants present among the ranks of the terrorist group.

The number of Libyan militants has reportedly increased on three fronts - Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Libyans are also the second in number and importance, after the Saudis, inside Iraq."

Whitehall draws up new rules on language of terror

The English who ruled the world are embarrassed of their offspring. Who is afraid of insulting people who want to kill innocents? I will be non politically correct and say that this is completely retarded! You are stupid if you think that a terrorist shouting "Allahu Akbar!" as she blows herself up in a cafe of innocent diners is not a Muslim. You might even be called dangerously stupid.

Whitehall draws up new rules on language of terror | Special Reports | Guardian Unlimited Politics: "A new counter-terrorism phrasebook has been drawn up within Whitehall to advise civil servants on how to talk to Muslim communities about the nature of the terror threat without implying they are specifically to blame.

Reflecting the government's decision to abandon the 'aggressive rhetoric' of the so-called war on terror, the guide tells civil servants not to use terms such as Islamist extremism or jihadi-fundamentalist but instead to refer to violent extremism and criminal murderers or thugs to avoid any implication that there is an explicit link between Islam and terrorism."

Family of teen Muslim invited men to rape her

Ah, the joys of Islamic Law. May the Peace of Allah protect these horrible people.

Family of teen Muslim invited men to rape her - Times Online: "A GIRL of 15 was tricked into a 'telephone marriage' ceremony to a Sheffield man with a mental age of five in a ceremony recognised by sharia (Islamic law).

When the girl arrived from Pakistan expecting to meet the handsome man she had been shown in a photograph, she found that he was 40 years old, unemployed and disabled.

To make matters worse, her mother-in-law decided to exploit her attractive looks by forcing her into prostitution.

The family invited men to the family home to rape her before she managed to escape to the police by bolting through the front door. She was taken into care and now lives in a refuge.

The case is highlighted in a report by the Centre for Social Cohesion, which has found that policemen, councillors and taxi drivers are turning a blind eye or even conniving in enforcing the Asian community's strict 'moral code' on young women."

EU official: Half of European anti-Semitism related to radical Islam

Another obvious statement. The politicians are slowly figuring out that Islam is not that nice. I wonder if it will be figured out in time to save the West from Islam?

EU official: Half of European anti-Semitism related to radical Islam | Jerusalem Post: "Some 50 percent of anti-Semitic incidents on the European continent are connected to radical Islamic elements, according to a senior European Commission official.

Hamas shoots 14 missiles at Sderot and environs Tuesday. An Israeli air strike kills seven terrorists in Gaza

Those friendly misunderstood innocent Pallys love to show how peaceful and civilized they are. Thank the Lord that the IAF can still find the terrorists.

DEBKAfile - Hamas shoots 14 missiles at Sderot and environs Tuesday. An Israeli air strike kills seven terrorists in Gaza: "Hamas shoots 14 missiles at Sderot and environs Tuesday. An Israeli air strike kills seven terrorists in Gaza

February 5, 2008, 9:55 PM (GMT+02:00)

Six people were injured by the second Palestinian missile salvo of the day from Gaza. The school building and houses were damaged and electricity was cut off in parts of Sderot.

Earlier, an Israeli air strike killed six Hamas members at a base near Khan Younes in southern Gaza Strip the day after a pair of suicide bombers killed a 73-year old woman, injured 48, in the southern Israeli town of Dimona Monday. Hamas operatives have been ordered to go to ground

During the day, four Palestinian missiles damaged two factories in Sderot and Palestinian sharpshooters fired at farmers in the fields of Kibbutz Nir Oz, where a volunteer was shot dead three weeks ago. Another two Qassams were fired south at the Kerem Shalom crossing, one falling on the Egyptian side of the border.

Monday, a leader of the Palestinian Popular Resistance Committees was killed in an Israeli air attack targeting his car in Beit Lahiya.

The two suicide bombers who attacked Dimona Monday, Feb. 4, were identified at a Fatah-al Aqsa Brigades news conference in Gaza as Mussa Mahmoud Arafat, 22, from Absan, Gaza Strip, a member of the Popular Front, and Louis Lahuani, 24, from Sabra, Gaza City, member of the Aqsa Brigades. Both reached Dimona from the Gaza Strip through Egyptian territory.

The Fatah spokesmen named their suicide mission “Assuring the Faithful”, which recalls Hizballah’s name for the 2006 Lebanon War “Assurance for the Faithful”, indicating their links with Hizballah. Tuesday, Hamas added its name to the list of claimants."

Female Muslim medics 'disobey hygiene rules'

Enforcing this new set of rules might be seen as anti-Islamic and therefore a violation of the Muslim's civil rights to practice their religion. The patients who are contaminated are secondary to the problem. Islam is perfect, right? So, if drinking camel urine is a cure for most ills in the Koran, then why should women have to expose their forearms to soap and water?

From the Hadith: (http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/fundamentals/hadithsunnah/bukhari/071.sbt.html)
Volume 7, Book 71, Number 589:

Narrated Anas:

Some people were sick and they said, "O Allah's Apostle! Give us shelter and food. So when they became healthy they said, "The weather of Medina is not suitable for us." So he sent them to Al-Harra with some she-camels of his and said, "Drink of their milk." But when they became healthy, they killed the shepherd of the Prophet and drove away his camels. The Prophet sent some people in their pursuit. Then he got their hands and feet cut and their eyes were branded with heated pieces of iron. I saw one of them licking the earth with his tongue till he died.

Volume 7, Book 71, Number 590:

Narrated Anas:

The climate of Medina did not suit some people, so the Prophet ordered them to follow his shepherd, i.e. his camels, and drink their milk and urine (as a medicine). So they followed the shepherd that is the camels and drank their milk and urine till their bodies became healthy. Then they killed the shepherd and drove away the camels. When the news reached the Prophet he sent some people in their pursuit. When they were brought, he cut their hands and feet and their eyes were branded with heated pieces of iron.

Volume 7, Book 71, Number 591:

Narrated Khalid bin Sad:

We went out and Ghalib bin Abjar was accompanying us. He fell ill on the way and when we arrived at Medina he was still sick. Ibn Abi 'Atiq came to visit him and said to us, "Treat him with black cumin. Take five or seven seeds and crush them (mix the powder with oil) and drop the resulting mixture into both nostrils, for 'Aisha has narrated to me that she heard the Prophet saying, 'This black cumin is healing for all diseases except As-Sam.' Aisha said, 'What is As-Sam?' He said, 'Death."

Volume 7, Book 71, Number 592:

Narrated Abu Huraira:

I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "There is healing in black cumin for all diseases except death."

Female Muslim medics 'disobey hygiene rules' - Telegraph: "Hygiene experts said last night that no exceptions should be made on religious grounds.

Dr Mark Enright, professor of microbiology at Imperial College London, said: 'To wash your hands properly, and reduce the risks of MRSA and C.difficile, you have to be able to wash the whole area around the wrist.

'I don't think it would be right to make an exemption for people on any grounds. The policy of bare below the elbows has to be applied universally.'

Dr Charles Tannock, a Conservative MEP and former hospital consultant, said: 'These students are being trained using taxpayers' money and they have a duty of care to their patients not to put their health at risk.

'Perhaps these women should not be choosing medicine as a career if they feel unable to abide by the guidelines that everyone else has to follow.'"

Slain Al-Qaida commander openly met Pak officials in Peshawar

Slain Al-Qaida commander openly met Pak officials in Peshawar-Pakistan-World-The Times of India: "Slain Al-Qaida commander openly met Pak officials in Peshawar
4 Feb 2008, 1711 hrs IST,PTI

ISLAMABAD: Top Al-Qaida commander Abu Laith al-Libi, killed last week in northwestern Pakistan, openly met Pakistani officials and a Libyan diplomat in Peshawar despite a USD 200,000 reward on his head, a media report said on Monday.

Libi's death in Pakistan was reported by Al Qaida-linked websites and it is believed he was among 12 militants who died in a missile strike carried out by an unmanned aerial vehicle on a house at Khushali Torikhel village in Pakistan's troubled North Waziristan tribal area on January 29.

The terrorist leader from Libya had lived in northwestern Pakistan for years and "felt secure enough to meet officials and visit hospitals" in Peshawar, the Washington Post quoted officials and residents of the city as saying.

As he organised suicide bombings and other attacks in Afghanistan, Libi "found a comfortable refuge in Pakistan's border region", the paper quoted sources as saying.

He "met openly with a Pakistani politician and a Libyan diplomat and called on foreign fighters recovering from their wounds".

The way in which Libi moved unchallenged around the heart of Peshawar, a city of 1.2 million people, underscored "how freely he and other Al-Qaida leaders have been able to operate in Pakistan", the report said.

On one occasion in 2006, Libi "strode into the central prison in Peshawar and another Libyan fighter sat behind bars in the custody of Pakistani authorities... the Al-Qaida leader, the Pakistani politician and the Libyan diplomat argued over whether the militant should be deported against his wishes to Libya or released to fight another day, said Javed Ibrahim Paracha, the PML-N leader who helped arrange the meeting.

Clinton Health Plan May Mean Tapping Pay - Examiner.com

Nope, she is not going to be a totalitarian dictator! She just wants to force you to buy or else. Her way or the highway.

Clinton Health Plan May Mean Tapping Pay - Examiner.com: "Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton said Sunday she might be willing to have workers' wages garnisheed if they refuse to buy health insurance to achieve coverage for all Americans.

The New York senator has criticized presidential rival Barack Obama for pushing a health plan that would not require universal coverage. Clinton has not always specified the enforcement measures she would embrace, but when pressed during a television interview, she said: 'I think there are a number of mechanisms' that are possible, including 'going after people's wages, automatic enrollment.'"

Palestinian Murders Woman in Suicide Blast

The brave holy warriors attack children and innocents. What brave warriors. They are ready to go to Allah and tell him how they BRAVELY charged the DANGEROUS Jews and FOUGHT them to the death. SO BRAVE! Not that they could fight a real man in a real fight. They are cowards and Allah will spit on them.

The Jawa Report: Palestinian Murders Woman in Suicide Blast: "One woman killed, 38 wounded as two Palestinian terrorists attacked a cafe in Israel. One of the would-be suicide bombers was killed before he could detonate himself (thank God for small miracles).

That's right, they attacked a cafe. Cowards.

Who was behind the terrorism? The armed wing of the West Bank government's Fatah party, the al Aqsa's Martyrs Brigade, and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP)."

Attorneys for Guantánamo captives back Obama's bid

The disgusting behavior of the Far Left is still strong. And the Leftwing Surrender Monkeys still want Obama because they know he doesn't lie as often as the Clintons do. There has to be a better choice for our country and the world. Inshallah.

Attorneys for Guantánamo captives back Obama's bid - 01/29/2008 - MiamiHerald.com: "More than 80 attorneys who have been offering free-of-charge legal services to Guantánamo detainees issued a statement Monday supporting Democrat Barack Obama's presidential bid.

''We are at a critical point in the presidential campaign, and as lawyers who have been deeply involved in the Guantánamo litigation to preserve the important right to habeas corpus, we are writing to urge you to support Senator Obama,'' the lawyers said in an open letter dated Monday.

Lawyers signing it included partners from major U.S. law firms and small-town practitioners as well as Michael Ratner, whose New York Center for Constitutional Rights has for years coordinated legal efforts to provide representation to each of the men held without charge at the offshore prison compound in southeast Cuba."

MacGyver Syndrome: a Jihadist with a laptop and fertilizer

Thank God these pigs are off the streets, but how many are being missed?

ICT - International Institute for Counter-Terrorism - News - Commentaries - MacGyver Syndrome: a Jihadist with a laptop and fertilizer: "MacGyver, a popular character from the American television series of the 1980s, was an exceptionally resourceful secret agent. The high profile character was known for his ability to create improbable explosives and problem-solving devices from extremely common items: plugging a sulfuric acid leak with chocolate, repairing a blown fuse with a chewing gum wrapper, or creating bombs out of gelatin cold capsules. Recent developments in European-based Jihadism seem to be moving in a similar direction, suggesting a new MacGyver-inspired trend in terrorist methods. Instead of purchasing traditional explosives, self-indoctrinated and self-trained Jihadi operatives are increasingly relying on household chemicals and the Internet. The arrests in Italy this past summer demonstrate this phenomenon.

On July 21, 2007, a joint Italian security force operation codenamed 'Hamam', succeeded in capturing the Imam of Ponte Felcino, a small and quiet village near Perugia, along with two of his closest collaborators."

Tighter U.S. Border ID Rules Begin:

Get your passports ready!

Tighter U.S. Border ID Rules Begin: Homeland Defense & Terror News at Officer.com: "Motorists easily passed through border checkpoints Thursday as enforcement of new rules for the types of identification U.S. and Canadian citizens must present to cross into the country began without the backups and confusion some travelers had feared.

Under the new rules, people will no longer be allowed to simply declare to immigration officers at border crossings that they are citizens, said Jayson Ahern, deputy commissioner with U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

Instead, those 19 and older will have to show proof of citizenship - a passport, trusted traveler card or a birth certificate and government-issued ID such as a driver's license."

'We're Sitting on a Powder Keg': Immigrants Protest Death of Moroccan Teenager in Cologne

The nice friendly Muslims riot because they are not allowed to mug people. How sad that they are not allowed basic freedoms! Those horrible Germans! What are the poor Muslims going to do for fun without muggings?

Justice for Islam! More attacks on the kaffir! Make mugging legal!

'We're Sitting on a Powder Keg': Immigrants Protest Death of Moroccan Teenager in Cologne - International - SPIEGEL ONLINE - News: "Following the violent death of a Moroccan teenager in Cologne, hundreds of immigrants have taken to the streets in nightly demonstrations to protest what they see as evidence of their second-class status in Germany. Police warn the city could be ready to explode.

Members of the immigrant community have been protesting the death of a teenager in Cologne.
The owner of an electronics shop on Cologne's Kalker Hauptstrasse had rolled down the shutters on the windows in case there was unrest. Now they have photos of a 17-year-old Moroccan boy taped to them. The teenager, whose name was Salih, was killed in front of the shop two weeks ago.

The sidewalk is a sea of candles as hundreds of people chant: 'Salih! Salih! We want justice!' They feel that Salih was one of them -- a youth from an immigrant family.

For the police, the case is clear cut. According to their version of events, Salih allegedly wanted to mug a 20-year-old German man, who tried to defend himself. But he panicked and pulled out a pocketknife that he plunged into Salih's heart with an unlucky stab. Prosecutors said it was a clear case of self-defense."

Russian Spies Targeted and Used Clinton Official

Ah, the joys of the Clinton days! No enemy was too horrible except for the "Vast Right Wing Conspiracy". They still take millions from foreigners who love to give money to their 'Library'. Or is it a whore house? In the case of that family, how would we differentiate?

Family Security Matters: "How should the media handle sensational allegations that one of the most esteemed members of their profession, former Time magazine journalist and top Clinton State Department official Strobe Talbott, was a dupe of the Russian intelligence service? How should they deal with hard evidence that one of their sacred cows, the United Nations, is penetrated by Russian spies?

The answer is that most of them will ignore it.

This is the fate they’re giving to Comrade J, a blockbuster book about Russian espionage written by former Washington Post reporter and author Pete Earley."

An Israeli military patrol ambushed near the divided Israeli-Lebanese border village of Ghajar

I thought the UN enforced a no fire zone in southern Lebanon? Where were they? Where are they? I have to wonder if UN peacekeepers without US troops are actually worth the pay the US pays. Just more proof that Israel is under more attacks from Muslim terrorists that the UN wants to ignore. What a waste of my tax dollars.

DEBKAfile - DEBKAfile: An Israeli military patrol ambushed near the divided Israeli-Lebanese border village of Ghajar: "Sunday night, Feb. 3, a routine Israeli military border patrol came under gunfire outside the village. They soldiers fired back. The Lebanese reported two dead on their side of the border. There were no Israeli casualties. Israeli reinforcements arrived on the scene. This was the first cross-border shooting incident from Lebanon since the end of the war of summer 2006.

It is not clear which Lebanese organization staged the attack – whether Palestinians, al Qaeda, which known to have a strong presence in the Palestinian Ain Hilwah camp near Sidon in South Lebanon, or drug traffickers. Hamas too is engaged in building a base in this camp and has begun cooperating with al Qaeda."

Down In The Hole

The Media think that they are wonderful, but this article points out that they are not all that great and they and the troops they cover have a great dislike for them. And WHY they are so disliked. HA!

Morale: Down In The Hole: "Down In The Hole

February 1, 2008: One story the American mass media won't touch is the impact of inaccurate and biased war reporting on the troops. Unlike in past wars, the troops are able to keep up on the news back home. With web access, and email from home, inaccurate and hateful reporting on the military reaches the troops quickly. This has had some interesting results. Aside from creating several million troops and veterans who now no longer trust mainstream media military reporting, it's made the job of reporters harder. New reporters have come to expect that whatever inaccurate military reporting they have done in the past, will be quickly known by any troops they interview. You can't hide from Google."

Counter-Terrorism: For a Fistful of Candy

This is Top Secret info that the Left does NOT want to release. Therefore, I have to post it for all to see. Go read the rest and enjoy the way the US has beat the terrorists - despite the efforts made by the Leftist and Media Elites.

Counter-Terrorism: For a Fistful of Candy: "For a Fistful of Candy

January 31, 2008: While one gets the impression that most Iraqis hate American troops, that's only partially true. The Sunni Arabs have the biggest reason to hate, but these days, the few Sunni Arabs left in Iraq, are quite friendly with the U.S. soldiers and marines. These Americans are the main thing that prevents the Shia Arab death squads from resuming their mass murders. Kids in general like the American troops. The U.S. soldiers and marines are, well, just like the movies. Except the super soldiers are right in front of you. It took a while, but even the kids noticed that the Americans were careful with their weapons. None of this firing in the air, or at 'anything that moves' stuff. The media concentrates on the few times that American troops do hit civilians, but the average Iraqi has did the math after a few years, and realized they were safer when around the Americans. The kids also like the spontaneity and generosity of these Americans with guns. The G.I.s and marines look intimidating as hell, but they will smile, and give you candy. While some kids worked for the terrorists, they eventually figured out they were on the losing side. Learning English has become popular with young Iraqis, as has figuring out how to get into the United States."

Northern Exposure: The Right Way to Address U.S.-Canadian Counterterrorism

This is a great article with a lot of thought and insight. Like most writings from Heritage it should be required reading for policy makers. Not that many can handle the big words.

Northern Exposure: The Right Way to Address U.S.-Canadian Counterterrorism: "A sound U.S.-Canadian strategy must give equal weight to the following priorities: securing the North American perimeter, policing the homeland and diminishing the threat of radicalization, and enhancing security at the border. However, any cooperative strategy must respect the principle of national sovereignty and uphold each nation's right to secure its border and determine its own migration and domestic security policies. U.S. and Canadian policymakers should focus on four key initiatives:

* Promoting private infrastructure development on the border,
* Coordinating visa policy initiatives,
* Building greater capacity for cooperation in maritime security, and
* Enhancing cross-border law enforcement programs."

Held hostage

Nice reminder of what is truely at stake in the near future. The Democrats want to stop intruding upon the privacy of terrorists and organized crime, most Republicans want to smash the terrorists and criminals.

The Pueblo Chieftain Online - Held hostage: "Held hostage
EDITORIAL
THE PUEBLO CHIEFTAIN

THE ABILITY of American intelligence officials to keep tabs on al-Qaida is in jeopardy with a move by Senate Democrats this week to block a permanent fix for the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

Furthermore, they failed to support a 30-day extension of the program under a bill passed last summer. That act expires Friday without final congressional action in the Senate.

This is election-year politics playing fast and loose with the safety of the nation.

Much foreign communications pass through the U.S. owing to the nature of global electronic communications networks. When FISA first was approved in 1978, those networks did not exist.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid claimed that the Senate needs another month to do what it couldn't do since summer. The far left in this nation - haters of President Bush - want to deny this president the tools he needs to protect the nation.

We don’t think it’s wise to allow a minority to hold national security hostage in this manner. So here’s hoping that as Friday’s deadline looms, cooler heads will prevail."

Mentally Retarded Women Used in Bombings

I think it might be safe to say that ANYONE who straps a bomb to themselves to kill others is mentally retarded in someway. But it is disgusting that AQ will use these poor victims like this. Capture them and beat them to death with a pig's leg. I can think of no punishment worse than this or I would suggest it. The mentally retarded should be protected and safe from predators like this. What kind of scum are these?

I don't even think Hillary has used the mentally ill like this, and look at her support base! They are mostly very disturbed!

Mentally Retarded Women Used in Bombings: "Two mentally retarded women strapped with remote-control explosives—and possibly used as unwitting suicide bombers—brought carnage Friday to two pet bazaars, killing at 73 people in the deadliest day since Washington flooded the capital with extra troops last spring.

The coordinated blasts—coming 20 minutes apart in different parts of the city—appeared to reinforce U.S. claims al-Qaida in Iraq may be increasingly desperate and running short of able-bodied men willing or available for such missions.

But they also served as a reminder that Iraqi insurgents are constantly shifting their strategies in attempts to unravel recent security gains around the country. Women have been used in ever greater frequency in suicide attacks.

The twin attacks at the pet markets, however, could mark a disturbing use of unknowing agents of death.

Brig. Gen. Qassim al-Moussawi, Iraq's chief military spokesman in Baghdad, said the women had Down syndrome and may not have known they were on suicide missions. He said the bombs were detonated by remote control."

Clinton advocates slowing down economy

Political Punch: "Former President Bill Clinton was in Denver, Colorado, stumping for his wife yesterday.

In a long, and interesting speech, he characterized what the U.S. and other industrialized nations need to do to combat global warming this way: 'We just have to slow down our economy and cut back our greenhouse gas emissions 'cause we have to save the planet for our grandchildren.'

At a time that the nation is worried about a recession is that really the characterization his wife would want him making? 'Slow down our economy'?

I don't really think there's much debate that, at least initially, a full commitment to reduce greenhouse gases would slow down the economy….So was this a moment of candor?

He went on to say that his the U.S. -- and those countries that have committed to reducing greenhouse gases -- could ultimately increase jobs and raise wages with a good energy plan.."

Al Qaeda Commander in Afghanistan Dead

Good bye! You won't be missed

FOXNews.com - Web Site: Al Qaeda Commander in Afghanistan Dead - International News | News of the World | Middle East News | Europe News: "Al-Libi was an Al Qaeda training camp leader who has appeared in many Internet videos and who the U.S. says was likely behind the Feb. 2007 bombing at the U.S. base at Bagram during a visit by U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney that killed 23 people.

A knowledgeable Western official said that 'it appears at this point that Al-Libi has met his demise,' but declined to talk about the circumstances. 'It was a major success in taking one of the top terrorists in the world off the street,' the official said. He added that the death occurred 'within the last few days.'

Al-Libi was a key link between the Taliban and Al Qaeda.

He was listed among the 12 most-wanted men the U.S. offered a US$200,000 reward for five.

Pakistani counterterrorism officials say al-Libi — 'the Libyan' in Arabic language — has served as an Al Qaeda spokesman and commander in eastern Afghanistan. They say they have no information on his current whereabouts."

Michael J. Totten

Michael J. Totten: "At the end of 2006 there were 3,000 Marines in Fallujah. Despite what you might expect during a surge of troops to Iraq, that number has been reduced by 90 percent. All Iraqi Army soldiers have likewise redeployed from the city. A skeleton crew of a mere 250 Marines is all that remains as the United States wraps up its final mission in what was once Iraq's most violent city.

“The Iraqi Police could almost take over now,” Second Lieutenant Gary Laughlin told me. “Most logistics problems are slowly being resolved. My platoon will probably be the last one out here in the Jolan neighborhood.”

“The Iraqi Police in Jolan are very good,” Second Lieutenant Mike Barefoot added. “Elsewhere in Fallujah they're not as far along yet. Theoretically we could leave the area now and they would be okay, except they would run out of money.”"

Michael J. Totten: The Final Mission, Part I

This is more excellent reporting from the Man. I love to see how things in Iraq are getting continuously better, despite the Leftist and Media slander.

Michael J. Totten: The Final Mission, Part I: "I can see why there are only 250 Marines in the city. Fallujah really isn't a war zone anymore. It seems like the Marines really should be able to leave once the local government and the Iraqi Police get their act together. Many say that would rather go to Afghanistan where they can still “get some.”

A minority of Marines, however, think this is naive wishful thinking.

“None of the bad guys dares to take a shot at us because they know it's a death sentence if they do,” one of them said. “But they'll go after the Iraqi Police once we pull out.”

“As soon as we leave, it's going to pop off again,” said another.

There is no way they can know that is true. It is just a gut feeling based on what they've seen and what they've heard, and it's the minority viewpoint. But a gloomy Army soldier I met last summer in Baghdad said something so simple, depressing, and obviously correct that I doubt I will ever forget it.

“Iraq will always be Iraq,” he said as he shook his head and stared at his feet."

Dispute over airport breakroom leads to lawsuit

ksl.com - Dispute over airport breakroom leads to lawsuit: "A shuttle driver has filed a complaint with the FAA against the Salt Lake International Airport, saying officials allowed thousands of religious services to be conducted on public property. Muslim cab drivers began praying in a small airport building used as a break room after 9-11, because, the airport says, they became targets, with people yelling at them and throwing things.

Last week we brought you the story of a Muslim cab driver at the airport who says he was assaulted when he tried to pray inside the building. Tonight the man charged in that case speaks out about his case against the airport.

Shuttle driver Jeff Brueningsen took photos inside the building he and other drivers share at the airport. 'It was definitely an Islamic center.' He said it didn't feel right, so he filed a complaint with the FAA against the airport.

'In proper, polite company you never bring up politics or religion. And they introduced both instantly into what's supposed to be a professional, secular transportation-aviation facility,' Brueningsen said.

In the complaint he details claims that he was harassed by a group of Muslim drivers who he says have threatened to kill him. It came to a head earlier this month when Brueningsen says Mohammed Alahmed and other drivers attacked him.

The joys of Islam. If my sister leaves her husband's house without permission, should I kill her too? Ooops! I am 'crusader' and don't believe in killing women and children. One of these days, I might convert to Islam so I can kill indiscriminately, but not anytime soon.

Gulfnews: Teenage girl strangled in 'honour killing': "A Jordanian prosecutor has charged the victim’s brother, a 20-year-old man, with premeditated murder.

Local newspapers reported that he had stuffed a scarf in his sister's mouth, choked her with an electric cable and smoked a pack of cigarettes before turning himself in."

Terror Suspects Hone Anti-Detection Skills

They get better, we get better. Have these families take a blood oath to defend their new country and to serve in the military for five years before they can get permission to bring their families to their new homes. This might keep the True Believers from infiltrating. If not, then they are finger printed and DNAd which makes them easier to trace later if they decide to become suicidal or terrorists. Which is about one in five of the Muslims? That is about every family with a terrorist in their house.

This article is good for learning what the current terrorist training entails. Well, their counter-surveillence training at least. Makes the Law Enforcement boys have to work so much harder.

Terror Suspects Hone Anti-Detection Skills: "In an age of spy satellites, security cameras and an Internet that stores every keystroke, terrorism suspects are using simple, low-tech tricks to cloak their communications, making life difficult for authorities who had hoped technology would give them the upper hand.

Across Europe, al-Qaeda operatives and sympathizers are avoiding places that they assume are bugged or monitored, such as mosques and Islamic bookshops, counterterrorism experts said. In several cases, suspects have gone back to nature -- leaving the cities on camping trips or wilderness expeditions so they can discuss plots without fear of being overheard.

In Britain, a man who called himself 'Osama bin London' is among five people being tried on charges of operating terrorist training camps in remote areas, sometimes under the guise of paintball fights in the woods. The camps' participants included four men who later tried to set off backpack bombs on the London transit system on July 21, 2005.

In a separate case in London, a Ugandan immigrant is scheduled to go on trial this month on charges of receiving terrorist training in the New Forest, site of a former royal hunting ground established in the 11th century by William the Conqueror.

And in Germany, three Islamic extremists suspected of plotting to bomb U.S. targets in September were"

Muslim mums win discrimination appeal

What a joke! I highlighted what, to me, seems to be the key phrase here. I can just see some Muslim family, on the run from their oppressive government and looking for freedom, that will sue because some poor lifeguard did not make it to their drowning kid in time. Freedom from oppession seems to be contraindicated in Islam - they take it with them. Allahu Akhbar.

The Local - Muslim mums win discrimination appeal: "Muslim mums win discrimination appeal

Two Muslim mothers have won a court appeal against a municipal pool in Gothenburg that required them to take off their veils and body-covering clothing.

* Polish sign reported for discrimination (25 Jan 08)
* Probe into Swedish-only workplace idea (22 Dec 07)
* Girl tested for circumcision 'because she was Somalian' (3 Sep 07)

The Court of Appeal for western Sweden found the City of Gothenburg guilty of ethnic discrimination and ordered the authorities to pay the women 20,000 kronor ($3,000) each in damages.

The women, Houda Morabet and Hayal Eroglu, were at the pool separately on two different occasions in April 2004, accompanying their young children but not to swim themselves.

Both were wearing veils, long pants and long-sleeved tee-shirts because their religion does not allow them to reveal parts of their body in public.

In its judgment, the court said that the actions of the swimming pool lifeguards, who insisted that the women should change into tee-shirts, could be deemed discriminatory even if this had not been their intention.

The nature of Sweden's discrimination laws mean that it was up to the City of Gothenburg to prove that the request for the women to remove some of their clothing had nothing to do with their religion.

"In the view of the Court of Appeal, the City of Gothenburg did not succeed in doing this," the court said in a statement.

In March last year, Gothenburg District Court ruled that the municipal pool had not discriminated against the women.

It ordered the Ombudsman against Ethnic Discrimination, which had brought the case on their behalf, to pay the City of Gothenburg's costs of 30,850 kronor ($4,720 dollars).

The lifeguards testified that although there was nothing in the security regulations about veils, the rules did require people in the pool area to wear shorts and tee-shirts, even if they don't plan to swim.

The mothers' cumbersome clothing would have prevented them from coming to the rescue of their children if necessary, they argued

Egypt Warns Hamas to Get Terrorists Out of Sinai

Those Pallys just don't listen to anyone, do they?

Egypt Warns Hamas to Get Terrorists Out of Sinai - News Briefs - Arutz Sheva: "Egypt Warns Hamas to Get Terrorists Out of Sinai

(IsraelNN.com) Palestinian Authority sources quoted in the Jerusalem Post said Tuesday that Egyptian officials have warned Hamas to get its terrorists out of Sinai. Hundreds of armed Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists remain in Sinai and refuse to leave, they explained.

Egyptian authorities are “very serious” about the issue, PA officials said, and have warned Hamas to have the armed men back in Gaza by the weekend. Over 100 armed Gaza Arabs have been arrested in Sinai in the past week. Most had their weapons confiscated and were returned to Gaza."

Iraq: The War So Far

//this is just part of the story. Read the full thing for many insights.

Iraq: The War So Far: "Despite the need for solutions, too many American politicians were more concerned with political correctness. That isn't always bad. For example, there has been enormous emphasis, in Iraq, on keeping American casualties down. This has been a success, with the casualty rate being about half what it was in Vietnam, and at a record low level historically. This has amazed military experts the world over, but was accomplished by adopting tactics that limited what American troops could do. The civilian deaths, as a result of U.S. combat operations, declined even more. That got little media attention either. But it was a big deal with the Iraqis.

Iraq can either be a turning point in Middle Eastern history, or the democracy can be corrupted, as it was in 1958 when the constitutional monarchy was overthrown by the Sunni Arab dominated military. To that end, the Iraqis are trying to negotiate a long term treaty with the United States that would include an American promise to 'coup-proof' elected Iraqi governments. That's novel, but depends on the election process remaining uncorrupted. Nothing is simple in the Middle East."

Anbar Disappoints

My Brother Marines join to fight, not to sit in no place. That is why they have volunteered! It might be time to allow the Army to run the little patrols and let the Warriors go to someplace dangerous.

I added the emphasis in the article. Enjoy!

Morale: Anbar Disappoints: " A U.S. Marine, Lance Cpl. James M. Gluff was killed in western Iraq on January 19th. Gluff shot a suicide bomber that was approaching his platoon. The explosion killed the bomber, and Gluff, but saved the lives of many nearby marines. This was the first marine combat death in Iraq in 103 days (since last October.) A marine regiment (over 4,000 troops) has been patrolling Anbar province (which comprises most of western Iraq) for quite some time. The marines have worked out security arrangements with most of the Sunni Arab tribes that dominate the area. That has sharply reduced the violence. So far this month, 29 U.S. military personnel have died in combat in Iraq.

Marines returning to Iraq, are surprised at the reduction in terrorist violence. These veterans are noting things like a 90 percent reduction in the number of roadside bombs encountered. This has a dangerous side effect, as it's harder to stay alert, to possible roadside bombs, while on patrol, because you spot so few of them. In the past, you could be sure to at least one for every two patrols. But now, many younger marines, in Iraq for the first time, have yet to encounter any bombs or gun fire after dozens of patrols. These marines are disappointed, and fearful that they will not earn the Combat Action Ribbon. For years, marines associated Anbar with war, but now it's just another quiet patch of desert. "

Marines Confront the Weight Problem

Infantry: Marines Confront the Weight Problem: "There's an ongoing debate in the infantry community over the need for so much body armor. There are times when the troops have to move fast (as when chasing down a sniper). But the senior commanders are under a lot of pressure to keep friendly casualties down, so they tend to insist that the troops wear all their armor all the time. Despite this, some subordinate commanders look the other way when troops shed their armor temporarily to get some needed speed. The new protective vests have a quick release feature, that makes it easier to get the vest off, and back on again."

NBC Weapons: Chemically Enhanced Holy Warriors

NBC Weapons: Chemically Enhanced Holy Warriors: "There have been numerous complaints from U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, about the inability of their weapons to take down enemy troops. This led to criticism of the 5.56mm M4/16 rifle bullet, and the 9mm pistol round. But after interrogation of many captured fighters, and medical examination of those killed or wounded, another factor was discovered. Many, often most, of the bad guys were doped up. With methamphetamine and pain killers drugs of choice. This put the fighters into a combative mood, and insensitive to pain. The enemy considered themselves 'holy warriors,' with each battle likely to be their last. These guys also knew, from talking to survivors of fights with the Americans, that they stood little chance of surviving such battles. The meth and pain killers enabled them to get shot several times, hardly feel anything, and keep going. Just what a holy warrior wants."

Israel: Posturing For Power

Why does the Media ignore the poor Egyptians who have been injured by the Pallys? I guess that Pallys are immune to attacks by the Media.

Israel: Posturing For Power: "So far, nearly 40 Egyptian soldiers and police have been injured by Hamas gunmen and Palestinian civilians. The Egyptians don't want to start a war with Hamas, but it is clear that the longer the breeches remain, the more criminal activity (smuggling, of people and goods) will go on. Egyptian police have been halting Palestinians trying to cross the desert to Cairo. This would enable Palestinians to try and get to another country, particularly in Europe, where they can claim asylum from Israeli oppression, and get away with it. The Hamas security forces have backed off a bit, and are stopping Palestinians in cars from crossing the border. Apparently the Egyptians have made it clear that force was going to be used if then went on much longer. Some of the Palestinians the Egyptians caught, trying to drive to Cairo, had weapons and explosives in their cars. The Egyptians know that Hamas is harboring Egyptian Islamic terrorists, as well as Palestinian terrorists eager for a chance to blow up things in Egypt."

V-22 Sprints to Success

Good to see this pig finally fly! For more than a few miles anyway.

Air Transportation: V-22 Sprints to Success: "V-22 Sprints to Success

January 25, 2008: The U.S. Marine Corps has had ten MV-22 Osprey tilt rotor aircraft (a squadron) in Iraq for five months now [PHOTOS]. The marines wanted combat experience for their new aircraft, and they got it. This enabled the marines to find out what the MV-22 did best. As expected, the higher speed and cruising altitude of the MV-22 was very useful. Moving troops to where they are needed, or getting badly wounded marines to a hospital, were things the MV-22 excelled at, moving at twice the speed of the helicopters previously used. Cruising at a higher altitude (10,000 feet or more) than helicopters, and moving faster, gave the enemy much less opportunity to get off a shot, much less score a hit. The heavy use also revealed which parts were likely to wear out when, something you never really find out until you get the aircraft into a combat zone. The modern cockpit, including auto-pilot, makes the MV-22 much easier to fly than the helicopters they replace."

Gaza buried in flour?

Since Mohammad does not teach math, and it is not in the Koran, I see that it is still not required or expected to be taught in Gaza. Of course, one might expect it to be taught in the West, but these ARE journalists. Math and journalism do not mix.

Gaza buried in flour [Martin Kramer's Sandbox]: "The Boston Globe has just run an op-ed under the headline 'Ending the Stranglehold on Gaza.' The authors are Eyad al-Sarraj, identified as founder of the Gaza Community Mental Health Program, and Sara Roy, identified as senior research scholar at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies at Harvard University. The bias of the op-ed speaks for itself, and I won't even dwell on it. But I do want to call attention to this sentence:

Although Gaza daily requires 680,000 tons of flour to feed its population, Israel had cut this to 90 tons per day by November 2007, a reduction of 99 percent.

You don't need to be a math genius to figure out that if Gaza has a population of 1.5 million, as the authors also note, then 680,000 tons of flour a day come out to almost half a ton of flour per Gazan, per day."

Terrorist Dies, Palestinians Mourn

What a pity. That he didn't take his friends with him. Burn for eternity you terrorist scum!

lgf: put your foot on the rock: "Terrorist Dies, Palestinians Mourn

Sat, Jan 26, 2008 at 8:53:00 pm PST

He dedicated his life to evil, and was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of innocent people. Now he’s dead himself, after years spent escaping justice for his crimes. And our “partner in peace” Mahmoud Abbas is praising him: PFLP founder Habash dies; PA mourns.

George Habash, the founder of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, died Saturday evening at his home in Amman, a senior Jordanian official said. Habash was 82-years-old.

Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas declared three days of mourning in the wake of Habash’s death. The PA chairman also ordered Palestinian flags to be brought down to half mast and mourners to be received at the presidential office in Ramallah.

Habash was born in Lod to Greek Orthodox parents and became a refugee in the wake of the 1948 war. He was a medical student at The American University of Beirut, and was among the founders of the Arab Nationalist Movement in the 1950s.

In 1969, Habash became the head of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, a Marxist group that carried out numerous terror attacks and “specialized” in hijacking planes across the world. Habash joined the PLO leade"

The Intelligence Community Needs Clear?and Permanent?FISA Reform

The Intelligence Community Needs Clear?and Permanent?FISA Reform: "The war on terrorism is not a brief skirmish but a long war, and the tools needed to wage it should therefore not be hobbled by artificial expiration dates imposed for political advantage. According to some reports, current FISA legislation may be saddled with a one-month expiration date. This would be counterproductive. Continuity of intelligence operations requires continuity of authorities, not constantly shifting sunsets and a fluid legal structure. Congress should expand and make permanent the FISA reforms in the Protect America Act and grant retroactive immunity to telecom companies that have done their part to strengthen national security. These steps are necessary to avoid hobbling America’s wartime intelligence-gathering abilities."

Hamas threatens Egypt

The wonders of the Middle East. Hamas cares about nothing and no one, unless they can be used to kill. Right now, the Egyptians are forced into a precarious position trying to contain these suicidal killers. Meanwhile, the Israelis are thinking about dropping bombs into the border to stop the flow of weapons that are hidden in the boxes flowing across the border. And can anyone blame them?

Egypt’s Efforts to Restore Border Falter - New York Times: "Egypt moved to restore its border with Gaza on Friday, stationing border guards and riot police officers to try to block Palestinians from entering. But Palestinians used a bulldozer to knock down another portion of the wall, originally built by Israel just inside Gaza, to continue their shopping spree.

The Egyptians announced on loudspeakers that the border would be closed at various times of the day on Friday, but allowed Palestinians who were inside Egypt to return to Gaza laden with goods, even as cranes lifted pallets of supplies over another part of the border barricade. The border barrier on the Egyptian side is a low concrete wall topped with barbed wire.

There were small clashes throughout the day, with short episodes of rock-throwing. Egyptians fired guns into the air and aimed water cannons above the heads of the those in the crowd to keep them back. The new breaches in the wall were large enough for cars and trucks to drive through, and some Egyptian guards then retreated.

Egypt is under pressure from Israel and the United States to restore the international border and regulate it, but does not want to use excessive force against the Gazans, whom the Egyptian president, Hosni Mubarak, has insisted are starving under the pressure of Israeli restrictions on imports and travel.

But often in the past, Egypt has used force, ranging from water cannons to automatic-rifle fire, against Palestinians who have breached the border, and the government will be calculating when its effort to respond generously to a crisis veers into instability or chaos. Nor does Egypt want responsibility for serving the population of Gaza, removing the burden from Israel.

Hamas is trying to push Egypt into an agreement to regulate the border without having it sealed completely, as it had been from the time Hamas routed Fatah and took over Gaza in early June. A Hamas spokesman, Sami Abu Zuhri, said, “The gaps shouldn’t be closed because they provide urgent assistance to the Palestinians.”

Israeli officials have expressed increasing concern to the Egyptian and United States governments that Hamas and other Palestinian militant groups are using the border breach to import military supplies and to send out fighters for training or terrorism."

Iowa supports an Islamic "victory over those who disbelieve."

Why is this not a bigger issue?

Storm Lake Pilot Tribune: " Here is the text of the opening prayer, as transcribed by Radio Iowa:
Imam Muhammad Khan of the Islamic Center of Des Moines spoke first in Arabic.
"I seek refuge in God against the accursed Satan in the name of God, most gracious, most merciful," Khan said in English. Khan made no specific mention of the war in Iraq or foreign affairs, but he called God the "master of the day of judgment" and asked for "victory over those who disbelieve."
"As we begin this new year...in a world with trials and tribulations, we ask you to open the hearts of our legislators and policy makers to make the right decisions for the people of Iowa," Khan said. "...We ask that you guide our legislators and give them the wisdom and knowledge to tackle the difficult problems that face us today in order to eliminate the senseless crimes on humanity. Help them, Lord, to solve the complicated problems in the State of Iowa so that we can be a model to the world."
Khan's prayer lasted about four minutes and he closed with a few words for legislators.
"On behalf of the Muslim community of Des Moines and Iowa, I wish you all the success in this year for making the right decisions for us," Khan said. Khan was the guest of State Representative Ako Abdul Samad of Des Moines, who is also a local Muslim leader."

Danish Muslim Party says Denmark will be Muslim country soon

Nope, they don't have an agenda to overthrow the West. This is just a small minority of Muslims who do not understand that they are the Religion of Peace and Tolerance and that taking over peaceful nations is wrong.

Muslims know they are perfect. Allah says they are.

RSS: Danish Muslim Party says Denmark will be Muslim country soon: "Danish Muslim Party says Denmark will be Muslim country soon

Dansk Muslim Party says it will be biggest party of Denmark ''and it may be soon. First day after Turkey becomes EU member country - about one million 20-50 years old Muslims may move to Denmark? And after that Denmark will be a Muslim country? Be ready!''

A small website 'damp.mono.net' claiming to be that of the Dansk Muslim Parti (Danish Muslim Party) 'DAMP' has published a 'press release' in poor English mixed with Danish, saying that 'Danish Muslim party's only agenda is to get Muslims into Danish politics and into the parliament, no matter what our ideas and religious or political beliefs are.'

Citing the logic that as they live in Denmark and number around 700,000 Muslims, 'we could actually have about 60 (=1/3) Muslim representatives in Danish parliament, and therefore also in Danish government', that Denmark may be the first Muslim land in Europe and able to have Muslim ideas, values and viewpoints become heard, respected and understood better, and discrimination stopped.

It says that 'we have Freedom of religion in Denmark, and therefore everyone has the right to practice their religion what ever it is, and also society must respect every religion and accept its manners and beliefs"

Al Qaeda's Dentist

Why are so many of the terrorists very well educated? It is starting to sound like the educated Muslims are much more dangerous than the poor stupid ones who prefer to die than live in the world.

How can we possibly stop these murderous Islamists? Treating them like criminals has not worked - the problem just kept getting worse. Slaughtering them like pigs in active combat works, but they fade away like cockroaches. How many must get killed before they finally surrender? I guess we can ask the Israelis...

FOXNews.com - Al Qaeda's Dentist - International News | News of the World | Middle East News | Europe News: "London dentist Sohail Qureshi told the police he was just off to celebrate the Muslim festival of Eid with his family in Pakistan…

But instead of dental floss and fluoride, Qureshi, 30, tried to board a plane at Heathrow Airport with $18,000 in cash, a night vision scope, two metal batons, terror handbooks, extremist material, military information on CDs and medical supplies.

Security services didn’t buy Qureshi’s vacation story and ended his trip before it could start.

Describing his “vacation” in an e-mail, Qureshi wrote, 'Pray that I kill many, brother. Revenge, revenge, revenge.' On an extremist Web forum, he added, “I am not going for good as far as I know, it is only a 14- to 20-day operation, if it's in Pak, Afg or Waz.'

The Islamic extremist was in fact on his way to fight for the Taliban against American and British troops.

In court, he boasted he had been sent to the U.K. by Al Qaeda for terrorist fundraising. He posted a farewell letter anonymously on an Islamist website bragging about raising thousands of pounds from sympathizers in the U.K. for the cause because 'bullets cost money.'"

Islamist Debate: Are Muslim U.K. Visa Holders and Muslim U.K. Citizens Permitted to Carry Out Attacks in Great Britain?

How nice. Some Muslims are unsure if they can kill their neighbors. If I lived near a Muslim I might get some protection. Maybe handout a few butt kickings. Only if they need it.

MEMRI: Latest News: "Recent discussions in the online Islamist forums regarding the benefits of attacking France have sparked a religious debate among Islamist forum members. [1] At the core of the debate is the Islamic concept of 'assurance of protection' (aman), which is referred to in the discussion below as 'the covenant of security.' In this case, the covenant of security pertains to the aman granted to a Muslim by a non-Muslim, whereby if a Muslim enters a non-Muslim country, or even an enemy country, with an assurance of protection from that country (e.g. as a merchant or a tourist) he must not violate this covenant by harming the country in any way. Venezuelan troops seize food

Venezuelan troops seize food | WORLD | NEWS | tvnz.co.nz: "Venezuela's top food company has accused troops of illegally seizing more than 500 tonnes of food from its trucks as part of President Hugo Chavez's campaign to stem shortages.

The leftist Chavez this week created a state food distributor and loosened some price controls, seeking to end months of shortages for staples like milk and eggs that have caused long lines and upset his supporters in the OPEC nation.

The highly publicised campaign has also included government crackdowns on accused smuggling, with the military seizing 1,600 tonnes of food and sending 1,200 troops to the border with Colombia."

Rain forces culling halt as India battles worst bird flu outbreak

This could easily go pandemic if they are not careful. Pray they are careful!

Rain forces culling halt as India battles worst bird flu outbreak: "Ten out of West Bengal's 19 districts have been affected by bird flu -- representing more than half of the eastern state of 80 million people.

'We were not prepared for a such disaster, we're now getting ready to combat the crisis. We've asked human and veterinary doctors in government hospitals to join the culling as well as private doctors,' the minister added.

'We're on a war-footing,' he said, speaking from the town near the border with Bangladesh.

It is from Bangladesh that the bird flu is believed to have come from, and authorities there say it has been erupting sporadically since last February.

'We have targeted the culling of at least 2.2 million chickens,' Rahaman said. 'We have now 650 teams involved in the culling operations. We're trying to get more teams to speed up the culling.'

People typically catch bird flu by coming into direct contact with infected poultry. Experts fear a pandemic if the H5N1 strain mutates into a form easily transmissible between humans."

Bomb factory at Columbia University professor’s home

What kind of a sick guy was this? If you read the rest of the article you will find he is an epidemiologist and an expert in spreading germs. He is also a Jew who hates Jews.

I wonder what they were planning? With the materials they are known to have, and what they had access to, it would not have been pretty!

What do they teach in these super Liberal academies anyway?

Michelle Malkin » Mystery in Brooklyn: Bomb factory at Columbia University professor’s home: "Police stumbled upon a bomb-making factory Sunday in the home of a Columbia professor who specializes in the spread of infectious disease - and are investigating whether he and his roommate have terror ties.

Cops evacuated the Brooklyn Heights neighborhood around the Remsen St. home of Michael Clatts, a medical anthropologist, after finding seven pipe bombs fitted with fuses in his flat, police sources said.

The frightening cache was discovered almost by accident - Ivaylo Ivanov, the man living with Clatts, accidentally shot off the tip of his left index finger and sought police help in the street about 1:15 a.m.

When investigators went to the 37-year-old Ivanov’s apartment, they found the bombs, already capped on both ends and filled with powder. One of the pipe bombs was inserted into a Nerf football, cops said.

A 9-mm. handgun, two ammunition magazines, a 12-gauge shotgun, silencers, a bulletproof vest, a crossbow and bomb-making equipment, including a drill and threading machine that could be used to make pipe bombs, were also recovered, cops said."

EU adviser renews criticism of terrorism sanctions

What needs to be done is to just publish the methods used to catch the terrorists in the act so that they know how to get away with things. If we stopped trying to hide this information from them, they would not keep suing to get it. This would help end the burden of so many lawsuits and free up time for the nice judges.

I hope these terrorists all burn in the afterlife.

News | Africa - Reuters.com: "Critics have long challenged the fairness of the U.N. terrorism blacklist, saying it subjects individuals to harsh penalties -- freezing their assets and preventing them from travelling -- without giving them a court hearing or disclosing the evidence against them.

In response, the U.N. Sanctions Committee has implemented some reforms aimed at making it easier for people to get their names removed if they have been wrongfully blacklisted.

In December 2006, another EU court annulled the bloc's decision to put an Iranian resistance group, the People's Mujahideen Organisation of Iran (PMOI), on a separate blacklist, ruling it had not given the group a fair hearing or adequate reasons."

New Orleans Health Department Director Kevin Stephens said the bloodstream infection, which is related to the meningitis family and causes flu-like symptoms and a rash in its early stages, is difficult to treat because it moves quickly, but some vaccines are effective.

Students are encouraged to get a meningitis vaccine and to wash hands frequently, cover the mouth when coughing and sneezing and refrain from sharing personal items such as razors."

The Battle of Pelennor Fields « Miss(ed) Manners

This is just too cool to not share. Enjoy!

The Battle of Pelennor Fields « Miss(ed) Manners: "Last year, when my brothers and I decided to make the Battle of Helm’s Deep out of candy, naturally none of us thought anyone would go as nuts over it as they did. We’ve always just done things like that simply because they’re fun. When the pictures of our little creation started getting passed around the Internet like a stewardess with daddy issues, we were both excited and nervous, what with our dork underpants showing and all. A year later, having looked back at all the comments, I’m still surprised at the overwhelming majority being so positive and light hearted. Considering the nature of the Internet, anything above four percent non-idiotic fourteen year old “OMG ur so gai” replies would have knocked my socks off.

And it did. Cheers to that.

Before we get to this year’s offering however, I figured I’d remark on the most common comment from last year: “You guys have way too much time on your hands.” Not really, but we certainly found the time. All told this year’s project took about seven days of off and on work. I guess we’re just better at turning off the TV than most. Oh, and also, if you’re not using your free time to do stuff like this, what the hell else are you doing with it?"

Martin Luther King's struggle was against Democrats

Nice piece of history. I have never figured out how the Democrats went from the party of enslavement and segregation to the party of Black Empowerment.

Those darn Republicans kept trying to free the slaves, and allow the blacks the same rights as all the other races. The Black Americans STILL have to forgive them in any real numbers. The vast majority of them stay in the Party of Slavery on the Democrat Plantation. It is easier than thinking. Just listen to the Masters. When Hillary says vote for her, They understand that she will send the hounds and whips out if They don't.

If you are Black, stay on the Plantation. Don't think for yourself. Don't study the issues. Don't think like an American. Think as if Whitey is out to get you.

Grand Old Partisan: Martin Luther King's struggle was against Democrats: "On this day in 1901, the Alabama Democratic Party called for a convention to write a new state constitution that would prohibit African-Americans from voting. Despite vocal opposition from Booker T. Washington and other Republican civil rights activists, the Democrat scam succeeded.

Democrats dominated Alabama's 1901 constitutional convention, and its chairman was a Democrat. In his opening address, he said:

'If we would have white supremacy, we must establish it by law -- not by force or fraud... The negro is descended from a race lowest in intelligence and moral precepts of all the races of men.'"

Chavez 'making Venezuela a haven' for drug smuggling

What a shock. yet another "revolution" funded by drugs. The Venezuelans and the Taliban and ...

Wow. commies selling drugs to buy guns.

Chavez 'making Venezuela a haven' for drug smuggling - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation): "Chavez 'making Venezuela a haven' for drug smuggling

Posted Sun Jan 20, 2008 5:00pm AEDT

A senior American official in the fight against illegal drugs, John Walters, has accused Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez of being complicit in the trade.

Speaking during a visit to Colombia, Mr Walters said Mr Chavez had failed to root out corrupt officials.

Mr Walters says Venezuela is a haven for drug smuggling.

'You cannot move 200 to 300 metric tonnes of cocaine through Venezuela without having substantial infrastructure that's not hard to find, and nothing is significantly happening,' he said.

'In fact every effort to cooperate has been rejected by the Venezuelan Government under President Chavez.

'He's making Venezuela a haven that's being used to victimise not only this hemisphere, but Europe and Africa.'"

Palestinians shoot 9 missiles, 20 mortar shells after Barak caves in on fuel and medicine deliveries to Gaza

Ah, the Israelis try to be nice, and the Pallys try to resume the killings. It is good they have no aim, but why does the UN allow daily shellings like this? What a corrupt and worthless government to allow your villages to be attacked daily and just ignore most of it.

DEBKAfile - DEBKAfile: Palestinians shoot 9 missiles, 20 mortar shells after Barak caves in on fuel and medicine deliveries to Gaza: "The barrage followed a two-day slowdown. No casualties.

Monday morning, prime minister Ehud Olmert said: “Let the Gazans walk!” He was responding to condemnation from Cairo, Arab nations and the European Union over Israel’s cut-down of fuel supplies and closure of the Gaza crossings last week under the Palestinians heavy blitz of Israeli civilians.

Yet Monday night, defense minister Ehud Barak gave a “one-time” order to resume the heavy fuel and medicines deliveries to the Gaza Strip. He thus surrendered to the pressure drummed up by Hamas’ highly telegenic humanitarian crisis that never was.

Neither the foreign ministry nor the army spokesman was geared to fend off this psychological war stunt. By the time they argued back that Israel, while taking 50 missiles a day, was feeding Gaza 75 percent of its electricity and its hospitals (unlike those in Arab countries) were caring for dozens of Palestinian patients from the Gaza Strip, no one was listening."

Terrorists slit cop's throat

More nice Muslims. Why do they like to kill so much?

JK: Militants slit cop's throat: "In a shocking incident, militants slit the throat of a special police officer (SPO) while he was travelling in a public transport vehicle in Kupwara, even as six militants were killed in three separate encounters in Kashmir on Monday.

The police said militants slit the throat of an SPO, identified as Mohammad Ashraf Khan, working for counter-insurgency, special operations group (SOG) at Zachaldara, 85 km from Srinagar on Monday afternoon.

This is the first such incident, where militants overpowered, and knived the throat of the SPO in vehicle in front of shocked passengers.

As the two militants jumped off the vehicle, after slaying the SPO, his colleague fired upon them, killing one of the two militants on the spot."

'We want to offer sharia law to Britain'

'We want to offer sharia law to Britain' - Telegraph: "To many in the West, talk of sharia law conjures up images of the floggings, stonings, amputations and beheadings carried out in hardline Islamic states such as Saudi Arabia and Iran. However, the form practised in Britain is more mundane, focusing mainly on marriage, divorce and financial disputes.

The judgments of the courts have no basis in British law, and are therefore technically illegitimate - they are binding only in that those involved agree to comply. For British Muslims who are keen to follow Islam, this poses a dilemma. An Islamic marriage is not recognised by British law, and therefore many couples will have two ceremonies - civil for the state, and Islamic for their faith.

If they wish to divorce, they must then seek both a civil and an Islamic divorce.

Dr Hasan, who has been presiding over sharia courts in Britain for more than 25 years, argues that British law would benefit from integrating aspects of Islamic personal law into the civil system, so that divorces could be rubber-stamped in the same way, for example, that Jewish couples who go to the Beth Din court have their divorce recognised in secular courts."

Lights On, Nobody Home

More Leftist and Media lies. I wonder why they feel compelled to lie and protect terrorists?

Collactive: HonestReporting - Lights On, Nobody Home: "Despite ongoing Qassam attacks from the territory, Israel has not switched off the electricity. In fact, Hamas itself shut down Gaza's only power station after inviting the media to watch it do so.

The mainstream media ultimately assisted Hamas in creating the impression of a humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The fact is Israel has restricted fuel supplies in response to the terrorism emanating from Gaza but continues to provide the Palestinians with electricity.

The Times of London omits this vital fact altogether in a story headlined 'Darkness falls on Gaza as Israel takes revenge for rocket attacks'. AFP, while quoting Israeli officials, also omitted the facts leaving readers with the impression that Israel is simply denying responsibility.

While Gazans are undoubtedly suffering, the dark picture painted by the mainstream media is different from the reality. As the Israel's Foreign Ministry notes, the supply of electricity to Gaza from the Israel and the Egyptian power grids (124 Megawatts and 17 Megawatts respectively) has continued uninterrupted. These 141 Megawatts of power represents about three quarters of Gaza's electricity needs."

The development of a jihadist's mind

This is a long but excellent look at how terrorists are recruited and taught. Read it. If you are a Muslim, please point out the errors in it. Do not attack it as an insult to Islam unless you have proof that what is said is wrong. PLEASE prove it wrong. I want to be able to see why this is wrong.

Jihad Watch: The development of a jihadist's mind: "Tawfik Hamid in the Jerusalem Post (thanks to all who sent this in) reveals how he became a jihadist, and his trajectory follows exactly what I have explained here many times: as he grows more devout, and studies the Qur'an and Muhammad's example, he tends more and more toward jihadist views and hatred of non-Muslims. That's why it's so critical for Muslims who claim to reject all this to do a searching reevaluation and reinterpretation of core texts of Islam, as Hamid is doing. But the likelihood of this on a large scale is virtually nil."

Iran warns the Netherlands over Wilders film on Islam

I think Mr Spencer summed up my feelings on this wonderfully. Besides, what is NOT an insult to Islam?

Jihad Watch: Iran warns the Netherlands over Wilders film on Islam: "An Iranian MP says the Netherlands will face widespread protests if it gives the green light to the screening of an anti-Islam movie.

Head of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi said that the Iranian nation would react to any insult to Islam.

The senior Iranian lawmaker added that Muslims will not tolerate any insult to Islam.

Iran expects The Hague to ban the controversial movie, otherwise Majlis (the Parliament) will call on the government to reconsider its relations with the Netherlands, he said.

A Dutch MP announced in November that he plans to make a 10-minute film which would reflect his insulting views about the Holy Qur'an.

No one in the Iranian government cares, of course, about the Qur'an-quoting mass murderers who have led Dutch MP Geert Wilders to make this film."

Islamic Radicals and the "Che Guevara Effect"

Che and bin Laden do have much in common, about time the links were spelled out somewhere.

Leadership: Islamic Radicals and the "Che Guevara Effect": "Islamic Radicals and the "Che Guevara Effect"

January 21, 2008: In late 1966, Ernesto Guevara de la Serna (1928-1967) arrived in Bolivia. "Che," the nickname by which he is generally known, was a seasoned revolutionary with a global reputation. An Argentinean, Che was a physician, but had become active in leftist circles in the early 1950s, even spending some time as an insurgent in Guatemala after the CIA overthrew the Arbenz regime in 1954. In 1955 he met Fidel Castro, then an unsuccessful Cuban revolutionary just out of jail due to an amnesty. The two hit it off, and Che, who had a real talent for organizing, training, and leading insurgents, played a crucial role in the guerrilla campaign that put Castro in control of Cuba on New Year's Day in 1959.

In 1964, Che, by then international revolutionary "star," disappeared from public view. Over the next couple of years he turned up advising guerrilla movements in the Congo, Mozambique, and other countries. This was connected to Che's "foco" strategy, that is, using small cadres of revolutionaries to act as focal points for local dissidents to promote the creation of "a hundred Vietnams" all over the world that would ultimately destroy the capitalist system in favor a socialist paradise. His 1966 arrival in Bolivia was another step in this campaign.

But Che's campaign in Bolivia failed, miserably, and led directly to his death. After some small success against the Bolivian Army, by September Che's Ejército de Liberación Nacional de Bolivia (National Liberation Army of Bolivia), was on the run. Che was captured on October 8th. Although CIA operative Felix Rodriquez, who had engineered his downfall and admired him as a wily foe, tried to prevent it, Che was almost immediately executed.

So what does this have to do with al Qaeda and the Taliban? Actually, several things. Al Qaeda's strategy against the West is very similar to Che's "foco" strategy, providing cadres to ignite a whole series of local Islamist revolutions toward the goal of establishing a global caliphate. And the outcome of these efforts has tended to be quite similar to the outcome of Che's efforts, that is, failure. They reason for failures can be found in what happened when Che showed up in Bolivia. Although there was already a local communist insurgency in the country, when Che arrived, his first words were, "Soy el jefe – I am the boss." Che had missed a critical aspect of the success of the Cuban Revolution. Although he had played a major role in that movement, its leadership was very definitely Cuban. By claiming to command the revolution in Bolivia, Che so alienated the local communist leaders, that they failed to rally to the cause, and may even had aided the government against him.

This has apparently already happened to al Qaeda's efforts in Indonesia, Kashmir, Iraq, and Afghanistan, and possibly elsewhere, such as Yemen and some parts of Africa. In all these cases, resentment over the "foreigners" trying to run the Jihad, men who are often contemptuous of local custom, has led many groups to openly oppose al Qaeda and even to side with the government.

There are, of course, some differences. While Che believed the "revolutionary struggle" was international, in fact each country gets the revolution it needs, that is the revolution that's perceived to be needed to provide the solutions to real or imagined problems. These problems may not be the same as those of the folks next door or half way 'round the world. This helps explain why it's taken longer for al Qaeda to lose traction. Islam is a stronger bond than "worker solidarity." Eventually, however, tensions do arise between al Qaeda's agents and local peoples over ethnic identity, cultural background, economic needs, political objectives, and even religion, Islam having a surprising number of local varieties that mostly don't conform to al Qaeda's version of the faith.

This is one of the reasons for the swift downfall of the Taliban in Afghanistan in 2001-2002, since at the time it relied heavily on al Qaeda "Arab" troops to maintain its authority over the country. The resurgence of the Taliban in the past year or two has been due largely to what might be termed a return to their base, that is, the Pushtun tribes living astride the Afghan-Pakistani frontier. As the Taliban tries to assert its influence beyond the Pushtuns in both Afghanistan and Pakistan, however, it may run into the "Soy el jefe" effect" as well."

A Christmas Gift From al Qaeda

HA! Good to see that the terrorists are still losing in some fields. The way they keep corrupting the Western Laws to further the aims of jihad and the caliphate is getting out of hand. Scarily out of hand.

Intelligence: A Christmas Gift From al Qaeda: "Western intelligence agencies could not believe their good fortune, when al Qaeda came through with an unbelievable Christmas present. Over the last month, the brains behind al Qaeda, Ayman al Zawahiri (the number two guy), made several announcements encouraging terrorism fans to make greater use of the Internet. This includes downloading al Qaeda ringtones for their cell phones, as well as al Qaeda approved videos. This last bit involves files as large as 120 megabytes. Al Zawahiri also encouraged followers to regularly download new pronouncements and terrorism 'how to' documents.

It's no secret that intelligence and police agencies the world over monitor Internet activity by actual, or wannabe, Islamic terrorists. Many terror plots have been foiled because of this surveillance. But the new al Zawahiri announcements made the job so much easier. While some al Qaeda Internet users know how to cover their tracks, or at least make it more difficult to be tracked, most do not. These are the newbies that for intelligence experts find easier to work and exploit. And the little guys, if they are serious, eventually lead you to the big fish.

What was al Zawahiri thinking? No one knows. Al Zawahiri is a big fan of the Internet, but he is apparently less familiar with how many tools intelligence agencies have available for tracking Internet users, what they are doing, and who they are doing it with. Some of these tools are classified, but many are available to corporate users (for protecting secrets, or controlling misbehavior by employees.) The communications companies that run the Internet also have specialized tools to track, and identify, data that is moving through their network. The terrorists don't have a clue, but the people tracking them now have a lot more.

There's also a certain irony to all this. In several countries, the local Islamic radicals persecute users of the Internet, as well as those who use stuff like ring tones. At the same time, al Qaeda just released the second version of its custom encryption software (Mujahideen Secrets 2), which makes it easier for intel agencies to spot terrorist email. One must never expect logic and consistency from this crowd, or much respect for Western code breaking capabilities."

Man who keyed car gets day in court; so do Marines

Semper Fi!

I hope this piece of hippy trash stays in France. Maybe he can move into a nice friendly Muslim neighborhood.

Man who keyed car gets day in court; so do Marines -- chicagotribune.com: "Jay Grodner, the Chicago lawyer who keyed a Marine's car in anger because the car had military plates and a Marine insignia, finally got his day in court last week.

Grodner pleaded guilty in a Chicago courtroom packed with former Marines. Some had Marine pins on their coats, or baseball jackets with the Marine insignia. They didn't yellor call him names. They came to support Marine Sgt. Michael McNulty, whose car Grodner defaced in December, but who couldn't attend because he's preparing for his second tour in Iraq."

IMF AND UN SEE A GOOD YEAR AHEAD FOR IRAQ

Darn, if the UN sees advances in Iraq, maybe we are losing after all. I just can't picture ANY good news coming out of that cesspool of corruption.

Of course, IF this is true, and it might be, then it is horrible news for the Left which is still demanding that the terrorists are winning and that is the only way it can be. Horrible news.

THE ASTUTE BLOGGERS: IMF AND UN SEE A GOOD YEAR AHEAD FOR IRAQ: "Iraq faces a period of economic growth and political progress, according to assessments by the International Monetary Fund and the UN.

The IMF sees a 7% jump in growth in 2008 and a similar rise next year, and says oil revenues from buoyant exports should be up by 200,000 barrels a day.

The UN envoy to Iraq welcomed dialogue between the Sunni and Shia communities and praised the government's work. ...

The change in the political mood is largely down to the passing of a law on Saturday, enabling some members of the Baath Party of Saddam Hussain to re-enter the military and bureaucracy, our correspondent says.

They were barred from public service by one of the first acts of the US-run Coalition Provisional Administration.

The law reversing that expulsion, combined with the sharp fall in violence in much of Iraq, has led to greater optimism."

Government renames Islamic terrorism as 'anti-Islamic activity' to woo Muslims | the Daily Mail

I want to gag. This is getting worse and worse. The British government is caving in on the Islamist front. At the current rate of surrender, the British People will either rise up and rebel, forcing a great slaughter of Muslims, or the British Isles will become a part of the Caliphate. I just do not picture the British people standing for that, even if the Politically Correct Left thinks that by ignoring the historical facts they can reach an accord with the most violent religion in the world, out side of Kali.

Why don't people understand that the Koran advocates the slaughter of unbelievers and this is evidenced by the actions of the Prophet Mohammad. Over and over again. Mohammad personally led dozens of military campaigns and killed hundreds of captives. He took slaves. He killed slaves. He raped slaves. He killed whomever he wished. He even raped women in front of their husbands. What a wonderful guy.

Before my Islamic friends attack me with claims that I am a liar and misunderstand - please battle me with facts. If you can't use facts to dispute me, then you can not dispute what I say. Feel free to dispute me. I would love to have my mind changed.

By JAMES SLACK - More by this author » Last updated at 22:16pm on 17th January 2008

Ministers have adopted a new language for declarations on Islamic terrorism.

In future, fanatics will be referred to as pursuing 'anti-Islamic activity'.

Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said that extremists were behaving contrary to their faith, rather than acting in the name of Islam.

Security officials believe that directly linking terrorism to Islam is inflammatory, and risks alienating mainstream Muslim opinion."

Rewriting The History of Torture

Ah, the truth might just break some tiny Liberal brains. But it IS fun to post.

Intelligence: Rewriting The History of Torture: "Advocates for the abolition of torture believe that torture doesn't work. Obviously, it does work. Just check out the history of espionage during World War II, or any other major conflict. Torture was accepted, if not much talked about. Information was regularly extracted from unwilling captives, and damage often done to the subject as a result. Everyone used torture, even if there were regulations against it. To this day, spies and soldiers are trained to deal with torture. It is acknowledged, in the espionage world, that if one of your people is caught by someone who has torture experts, your guy is likely to talk eventually. Thus there are often provisions for suicide pills. At the very least, there is a 'Plan B' for situations where one of your people, who knows secrets, is taken alive. You have to assume he will be tortured and some, or all, of those secrets extracted. Critics of torture insist that information extracted like this is not reliable. The historical record says otherwise, and intelligence agencies, and the military, continue to plan accordingly."
