It's Islamic jihad, not extremism, Uncle Sam

Wow! I have not read this book, but it sounds like the author nailed it! I will have to read it.

Middlesboro Daily News > Opinion > Editorials > It's Islamic jihad, not extremism, Uncle Sam: "A few years ago, Harvard psychiatric instructor Kenneth Levin wrote 'The Oslo Syndrome: Delusions of a People Under Siege.' In this illuminating book, Levin examines the Israeli experience of concessionary negotiations with a 'peace partner' openly dedicated to Israel's destruction. He also examines the historical Jewish Diaspora experience in which Jewish populations typically identified with their tormentors and even echoed their antisemitism.

Such interactions are driven by a permanent condition of siege mentality, Levin explains, and clearly manifest two kinds of delusional thinking.

First, there is the fantasy about the intentions of the aggressor (Arab Muslim or European Christian); then, there is the fantasy about changing the aggressor's intentions. Such thinking, Levin says, is common to victims of chronic abuse, particularly children. They fool themselves into thinking that they, the victims, control the abuser by linking the abuse they suffer to their own behavior.

In other words, they believe they cause their own abuse. This mind game, Levin says, actually gives victims a sense of control over situations beyond their control (an abusive parent, for instance). This allows them to avoid feelings of helplessness and despair.

And so the besieged victim pretends: Daddy doesn't really want to hurt me; if I'm a better girl, he'll stop. Israel pretends: Muslims don't really want to destroy our state, and so we'll give them land for peace. Jews in pre-Nazi Europe pretended: The anti-Semites are really right; we deserve a pogrom. "

Gaza: Bomb explodes at Christian school

I think that it is interesting that most Christians are scared for their lives, but the one who gave his name is making sure to point out how wonderful things are. He does not want to end up like the people of all faiths who say anything that might be seen as less than flattering to Hamas. I am more than willing to bet that he has Hamas terrorists in his house - searching for a reason to kill him. Poor guy is in hell and trying to survive. I wish him luck.

Gaza: Bomb explodes at Christian school | Jerusalem Post: "The bombing was the latest in a string of attacks on Christian institutions in the overwhelmingly Muslim territory. In the most serious attack, a local Christian activist was murdered in October. His killers have not been found.

Friday's bombing was not the first attack on the school run by the Rosary Sisters. The school was ransacked in June, 2007, along with the nuns' adjacent convent, during a week of intense fighting that ended with Hamas' seizure of power.

Police officials from Hamas said they were looking into the incident. But the school official said the police's inability to find perpetrators of previous attacks was cause for concern.

'We don't feel safe. There's no security here,' she said.

Father Manuel Musallem, the leader of Gaza's Catholics, played down Friday's attack. 'This is the work of a dark individual,' Musallem said. 'We have excellent relations with Muslims. They enter our houses and we enter theirs. There's no campaign of Muslims against Christians here,' he said."

Say What?

The Jewish Princess has Bush's speech along with the list of Israelis slaughtered in the name of Islam and "Palestine" since Bush was elected. Go and mourn with her.

Something... and Half of Something: Say What?: "...Some people suggest if the United States would just break ties with Israel, all our problems in the Middle East would go away. This is a tired argument that buys into the propaganda of the enemies of peace, and America utterly rejects it. Israel's population may be just over 7 million. But when you confront terror and evil, you are 307 million strong, because the United States of America stands with you.

So sayeth President George W. Bush at the Knesset and he is absolutely, positively, right, but... words mean nothing when you don't practice what you preach, and George W. Bush most certainly does not practice what he preached at the Knesset.

These are the victims who have been maimed and murdered during George W. Bush's presidency, maimed or murdered in terrorist attacks perpetuated by the palestinian terrorists of the Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, the military arm of President Bush's pet terrorist, Mahmoud Abbas, and his Fatah Party:

May 29, 2001 - Gilad Zar, 41, of Itamar, was shot dead in a terrorist ambush while driving in the West Bank between Kedumim and Yizhar. The Fatah Tanzim claimed responsibility for the attack..."

Interpol Confirms: US Democrat Was Secretly Working With FARC To Undermine Colombian Government

GWPundit has the scoop yet again! Can we impeach Rep. McGovern for treason? Or at least take him out back for wall-to-wall counseling? Actually, since the Dems are actively supporting everyone that the Bush administration labels 'bad', can we just try them all for treason? Not that President Bush would ever directly insult or label the Dems as anything like that. He is a big softy when confronting the people who hate him.

Gateway Pundit: Interpol Confirms: US Democrat Was Secretly Working With FARC To Undermine Colombian Government: "US Democratic Congressman James McGovern was offering the Marxist FARC terrorists help in undermining the Colombian government.

Interpol confirmed documents today showing that US Congressman James McGovern (D., Mass.) (pictured), a leading opponent of the Colombia free-trade deal has been working with a go-between, who has been offering the FARC terrorists help in undermining Colombia's elected and popular government.
Colombia is America's closest ally in South America.

Interpol disclosed today that there was no evidence that the computers seized from dead FARC leader Raul Reyes were tampered with."

Lights Out... Pakistan Caves to Shariah Law

The Left celebrates the advance of Democracy with the strangest timing. Gaza and Pakistan are technically democracies, but they don't really act like it. Now that the Pakistanis have democracy restored, they are trying desperately to throw it away. It makes me wonder if the Right was right when they said that Musharraf was what stood between the Taliban and power.

Gateway Pundit: Lights Out... Pakistan Caves to Shariah Law: "Lights Out... Pakistan Caves to Shariah Law

America had a great ally in Pervez Mussharaf of Pakistan.
Musharraf was the first Pakistani leader to meet with the American Jewish Congress . He accepted Israeli aid after the devastating earthquakes in 2005. He expanded women's rights in Pakistan. He was not perfect but the fact that Israel was the first country to congratulate Musharraf on his election win in 2007 should tell you something.

Because of Musharraf's imperfections and his close ties with America and Bush, Democrats and the Western Press decided to wage war on this tyrant in Pakistan.
They treated Musharraf like a bastard step child or like President Uribe of Colombia.

When new elections were called several anti-Bush senators even volunteered to travel to Pakistan to make sure that President Musharraf did not steal any elections."

FBI: China may use counterfeit Cisco routers to penetrate U.S. networks

More proof of the continuing CyberWar that China is waging against the world. What can we do about this threat? I would hate to lose my wonderful computers! As more information leaks out, I wonder if someone needs to set off an EMP burst high above China to set them back a little. In the meantime, I am trying to boycott anything from China.

World Tribune — FBI: China may use counterfeit Cisco routers to penetrate U.S. networks: "An FBI presentation states that China has counterfeited Cisco Systems network routers and may be using the equipment to penetrate U.S. government and private sector computer networks.

Federal authorities in February seized some 400 counterfeit Cisco Systems knockoffs worth $76 million. The equipment included routers, switches, gigabit interface converters and WAN interface cards.

Among the purchasers of the fake equipment were the U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Naval Air Warfare Center, U.S. Naval Undersea Warfare Center, U.S. Air Base at Spangdahelm, Germany, the Bonneville Power Administration, General Services Administration, and the defense contractor Raytheon, which makes key missile and weapons systems."

Bush sees talks with Ahmadinejad as "appeasement"

Bravo! Bush finally gets a set of stones about something. About time.

I know the hippies and Leftists want Iran to have nukes to supply to terrorists along with missiles, bombs, guns, mines, etc... But Lefties and hippies are, in general, too stupid to walk and smoke a joint at the same time. They want the US disarmed, but the terrorists heavily armed. What brilliance. So brilliant that they should be buried in the dump with the other trash.

Bush sees talks with Ahmadinejad as "appeasement" - Yahoo! News: "Though Bush did not name names, Obama quickly issued a blistering response accusing the president of launching a 'false political attack.'

But the White House denied Bush was referring to the Illinois senator when, drawing parallels to the rise of Nazi Germany in the 1930s, he denounced those he said had urged him to talk to 'terrorists and radicals.'

Bush's rebuff to his critics also followed a Middle East visit by former President Jimmy Carter, who met Hamas leaders shunned by Israel and Washington and urged efforts to draw the militant group into the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.

Bush used his speech to the Israeli Knesset to ratchet up his rhetoric against Iran, saying Washington stood by the Jewish state in opposing Tehran's 'nuclear weapons ambitions.'"

Volcano Releases One Trillion Cow Farts Into Atmosphere

The Cubists have been busy lately. The latest is yet another piece of perfection!

Groupthink :: View topic - Volcano Releases One Trillion Cow Farts Into Atmosphere: "On May 2, Chile's Chaiten Volcano released a gigantic cloud of emissions composed of ash, steam, smoke, and various oddball gases whose estimated amount equals to one trillion cow farts, a UN-sponsored climate change study revealed. 'In just one day, this volcano set the Kyoto Protocol back 15 years, obliterating the otherwise outstanding success of our multi-billion dollar efforts to curb the release of cow farts into the atmosphere,' complained Chairman of Intergovernmental Panel on Cow Farts (IPCF) Rajendra K. Pachauri at an emergency conference at Grand Plaza Hotel in New York yesterday. 'Therefore, we demand that this eruption be considered unscientific and thus disqualified from inclusion into climate change models. Need I mention that it wasn't sanctioned by the the United Nations?'"

Scrap scavengers pose wily challenge on base

Those greedy corporations keep sending these poor innocents over to die stealing things from the evil government.

Nah! These are just people willing to risk their lives for a buck. Why should the military pause for civilians in the fire zone? That just makes it more realistic!

Scrap scavengers pose wily challenge on base - Marine Corps News, news from Iraq - Marine Corps Times: "During a recent patrol at the base, Marines hunted for scrappers in gullies, desert washes and mountain crevices where some thieves had previously hid from helicopters under camouflage netting.

Last year, Marines found an abandoned car in the desert and a dead man nearby, plus a second man who was on the brink of death from dehydration. The pair were believed to have been prowling for scrap metal. Similar deaths were reported in Yuma.

The military said most scrappers arrested in the past several years appeared to be either illegal immigrants or drug users looking for easy money. If convicted on federal charges ranging from trespassing to theft, they face up to 20 years in prison.

Because the Twentynine Palms base is so vast, officials cannot erect and maintain fences. Instead, they have posted signs warning against trespassing, only to see those signs stolen for the metal.

“We’ve seen all types,” Sgt. Timothy Warren said as he scanned the mountains with binoculars, looking for scavengers. “We’ve even arrested one guy, sent him to jail and then arrested him again a few days before he’s even gone to court.”"

Biased Media: Economy Is Affecting the Horses

Follow the link to see what the answer is. I know I got it wrong! I am strong enough to admit a tiny mistake.

Gateway Pundit: Biased Media: Economy Is Affecting the Horses: "HERE'S TODAY'S MEDIA BIAS QUIZ...
Guess which of these statements made the mainstream media headlines:

A.) US April tax receipts hit all-time record

B.) Record low unemployment rate offers new challenges to military recruiters

C.) Inflation is down to 3.0% from 4.1% in 2007

D.) Horses Abandoned Over Bad Economy

Although, each of these statements is true, the correct answer is: "

Up to 100 injured by Iran-made rocket which wrecks crowded Ashkelon shopping mall

The Iranians kill more people with their servants the Slaves of Allah. When will the army be allowed to search Gazastan for the rockets? Sure a lot of people will die, but it might be better to get it over with all at once rather than this constant dribble.

DEBKAfile - Up to 100 injured by Iran-made rocket which wrecks crowded Ashkelon shopping mall: "Up to 100 injured by Iran-made rocket which wrecks crowded Ashkelon shopping mall

May 14, 2008, 11:17 PM (GMT+02:00)

Jihad Islami and Popular Committees claimed the attack with Hamas' blessing. After examining the rocket shrapnel, police commander Uri Barlev confirmed it was a Grad (Katyhusha) military rocket made in Iran.

Of the 100 people injured in Ashkelon’s bustling mall, four people were seriously hurt including a mother and her four-month old baby. Two women suffered moderate injuries and the others of whom many were children were slightly hurt. Four were dug out of the debris.

The Palestinian rocket crashed without warning into the roof of the three-floor building, fired from the former Israel Dugit site in N. Gaza just when President Bush was winding up a conversation with Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert. The attack revived fresh demands for a major operation to put a stop to the daily attacks from the Gaza Strip. Ashkelon is 15 km north of Gaza.

Furious complaints were heard in the streets of Ashkelon over the failure of the siren to sound an alert in time for people to take shelter from the rocket attack. Homeland Command officers explained the decision not to activate the siren by the many recent false alarms that kept the population on edge and the wish not to disturb the Bush visit.

Security minister Avi Dichter, trade and industry minister Eli Yishai decide to skip the gala banquet in the US president’s honor and travel to Ashkelon instead.

Casualties have mounted recently from the daily Palestinian attacks on Israeli communities outside Gaza. Two people were killed in the last week."

Information Warfare: Belgium Hunts Chinese Oil Bandits

China is pretty much a leader in Cyber War and getting further ahead. I always wonder if amy of my computers are Chinese bots, and worry more every time I read stuff like this. Be safe!

Information Warfare: Belgium Hunts Chinese Oil Bandits: "Belgium Hunts Chinese Oil Bandits
May 15, 2008: Belgium is the latest country to alert its citizens of Cyber War attacks (or just criminal hacking attacks) coming out of China, and into Belgium. The most worrisome aspect of this are the targeted attacks against specific Belgian government officials, and key members of NATO and European Union (EU) in Brussels. The latter two organizations have their headquarters in Belgium. It was noted that some of these targeted attacks were further specialized in that they were looking for data on Belgian energy (usually oil) related projects in Africa. This sort of thing leaves investigators believing that the ultimate consumer of such information is the Chinese government. It's also possible that these are criminals stealing specific data for specific customers. That makes little difference to the victims, but is of interest to those trying to improve Internet security. You don't go after criminal hackers the same way to do a national Cyber War operation."

Afghanistan: Taliban Moving At Half Speed This Year

More good news from the combat zones! Is it in the Media? Is it anywhere? Only here! Read this linked article to learn more.

Afghanistan: Taliban Moving At Half Speed This Year: "Taliban Moving At Half Speed This Year
May 14, 2008: Afghan and security forces waited, and waited, for the Taliban Spring Offensive, but it never came. Gun battles with the Taliban were down 50 percent so far, compared to last year. Roadside bomb attacks were about the same. But Taliban casualties were up, as more Afghan and NATO forces went looking for them. Last year, 8,000 people died in Taliban violence. So far this year, the death toll is 1,200, indicating casualties for the year will be about half what they were last year. This year, a higher proportion of the dead are Taliban and al Qaeda, and a lower proportion civilians. While some Taliban commanders have tried to develop new tactics to reduce casualties (smaller units of Taliban, and avoiding contact with police and troops), nothing has worked. The Afghan army is larger (76,000 troops) and better trained than last year, and there are more foreign troops. Worst of all, more tribal leaders have sided with the government this year, meaning tribal militias are also ready to fight Taliban moving through previously pro-Taliban territory."

Counter-Terrorism: It Is Not The Same

Excellent article discussing the differences between the traditional insurgency versus the current ones. I learned a lot from this, and I have read most of the authors cited in this.

Counter-Terrorism: It Is Not The Same: "It Is Not The Same
May 14, 2008: Counterinsurgency so much attention since the 1960's and the creation of the U.S. Army Special Warfare Center. This renewed interest has sparked fierce debate over the kind of war we are fighting: terrorism, irregular warfare or an asymmetrical war. When we label a war a counterinsurgency (COIN), by definition, it means that we are fully aware of the type of insurgency we are fighting; do we really? With all the labels what kind of Insurgency are we fighting?"

Analysis: Iran's secret Syrian plan

Good to know that the Syrian and Iranian chemical weapons programs are still being monitored. Not that anyone will admit it.

Analysis: Iran's secret Syrian plan - Middle East Times: "But there might be another explanation. Kuwait's Al Seyassah newspaper recently reported that a Shiite Lebanese religious cleric claimed the Iranians were allegedly supervising a chemical weapons manufacturing program and that tens of Iranian experts and engineers died as a result of that explosion. He also said Israelis attacked the base. He added that Western officials told him they received proof from Israel on the Syrian chemical weapons program. Even if Israel's involvement is not proven, what remains sure is that it must be very happy that a chemical weapons facility in Syria has been partly destroyed.

Now regarding the September 6 strike; while we may never know what really occurred, what remains sure is that the situation is direr than one could imagine and that most likely, Israel did not just bomb a nuclear site in the early stages. Indeed, the silence of the international community and especially the Arab world after the attack is a first, and it shows the gravity of what happened. Even though Syria and its Iranian sponsor are detested, and in the case of Iran feared, in the Muslim world, the fact that there was no condemnation of Israel at the U.N. could be interpreted as a tacit relief that Israel acted."

Status of terrorism experts questioned

I know that I am not a great expert, but I know that I know more than at least a quarter of the "experts" who end up in the news. After reading this article I now know why. By reading the sites that I have linked in my sidebar, it is easy to figure out a lot more than the Media can figure out since they have heads inserted rectally. Yes, I mean you on MSNBC!

Read this full article and get an understanding about why the Media keeps getting it all wrong.

Status of terrorism experts questioned | higher news | EducationGuardian.co.uk: "...Since 9/11, research into terrorism has grown prolifically. According to the social science citation index, there were barely more than 100 articles relating to terrorism published in 2001; that figure had almost trebled by the following year and has carried on rising ever since, with more than 2,300 citations recorded last year.

So far, so pretty much what one might expect. After all, universities aren't immune to outside imperatives. Yet there is a new, more disturbing trend emerging within this field of the terrorist specialist as expert witness in terror trials....

...Not necessarily, Schmid maintains. 'While it is important to think about the relationship between academics and the counter-terrorism agencies, it is also important to think about the relationship between journalistic news values and terrorism. As long as 'good news is bad news' and 'if it bleeds, it leads' are top journalistic news values, those who produce violence for effect will always be able to receive ample coverage from the media. Terrorism is 1% bang and 99% publicity, as someone once put it. Terrorists depend on publicity, and on journalists and editors who provide that for them. That is a bigger problem than some academic experts testifying in court. I have never done so, but would not exclude it if I regard it as my duty as citizen.'"

Korea: Death Before Disarming

I can't imagine having a leader who demands to be worshiped while he forces his people to starve. Is there a way to help the people revolt? Or would the CIA get in more trouble for something like that?

Korea: Death Before Disarming: "Death Before Disarming

May 12, 2008: The price of rice in North Korean markets has more than doubled in the last six months. At the same time, the government has cut back on food it provides to government employees. This has forced the military to dip into their war reserves of rice to feed the troops, the families of career soldiers and workers at weapons factories. Elsewhere in the country, farmers are now selling food scraps and other material that was previously fed to farm animals. Few can afford meat, so the famers make more money selling the scraps for human consumption. The situation is very similar to the one in the mid-1990s, which preceded a famine that killed about ten percent of the population and stunted the growth of a generation of children. The famine could be prevented if the North Korean government asked for foreign food aid, but it won't do that because it is engaged in negotiations over the agreement to halt the North Korean nuclear weapons program. North Korea refuses to allow the degree of verification the foreign aid donor nations (South Korea, U.S., Russia, Japan and China) are demanding. All suspect that North Korea is trying to get the food and fuel aid, while continuing its nuclear weapons program in secret. North Korea has also released an archive of 18,000 pages of documents regarding its nuclear program, insisting that all this paper would clear up any misunderstandings. It's doubtful, and it will take weeks to go through all these documents. "

A late bit of Mother's Day History

Link one:

Debbie Schlussel: "Happy Mother's Day, Mom!

I found it interesting to learn that--despite all the hits and contracts put out on people, despite all the absolute disrespect for life and limb--even Vito Corleone, Tony Soprano, and their real-life counterparts, the men of Cosa Nostra, take the day off from all of that . . . for Mom. Organized crime, murder, and violence 364 days of the year. But on Mother's Day, Fuhgedaboutit."

Link Two:
Debbie Schlussel: "That's right, for its Mother's Day program, last night, the Islamic House of Wisdom--Dar Al-Hikma--the 2nd largest mosque in North America, is honoring Najah Bazzy, about whom I've written a great deal.

Ms. Bazzy--the Muslim Nurse Ratched--is a very interesting candidate for Muslims to pick as their 'Mother of the Year.' You see, as head transcultural nurse for Dearbornistan's Oakwood Hospital, she was intimately involved in Medicaid fraud, in which she served as translator and co-conspirator for pregnant Muslim aliens who used phony social security numbers to get Medicaid to cover the births of their babies (they also got U.S. citizenship for those babies--citizenship which can be traded on the open market, since there are no hard-and-fast identifying items on the birth certificate but for the gender)."

Tough Mother: A Vagina Monologue You'd Rather Not See

Oh Lordy! The Cubists have found a new topic to attack.

Groupthink :: View topic - Tough Mother: A Vagina Monologue You'd Rather Not See: "Aliza Shvarts, activist art student at Yale, claims she repeatedly inseminated herself with sperm freshly collected from campus masturbators, then induced miscarriages and stored the resulting blood with fertilized eggs in order to smear it over the surface of a large suspended cube at a student art show. Why? As a rule of thumb, if someone goes all screwy and it's not the result of mental illness, it must be a progressive activist scoring one for The Children™ and the Greater Good™. And that is the story of little Ms. Shvarts.

She wanted to prove that all body parts are interchangeable and 'can have other purposes' - an idea she may have conceived in her class on post-modern philosophy or at the college performance of The Vagina Monologues, which is practically the same thing."

College Official Fired for Column on Homosexuality -- 05/12/2008

I see that academia still values Freedom of Speech. I bet if this lady had been Muslim she would still have a job.

College Official Fired for Column on Homosexuality -- 05/12/2008: "Cybercast News Service has learned that a University of Toledo administrator has lost her job because she wrote a newspaper commentary that questioned whether homosexuality is a civil rights issue.

Crystal Dixon, the associate vice president of human resources at the state university, had earlier been put on paid administrative leave for the Apr. 18 column published in the Toledo Free Press, as detailed in a previous CNSNews.com story.

'She has been fired,' said Brian Rooney, spokesman for the Thomas More Law Center, an Ann Arbor, Mich.-based legal-defense group which is representing Dixon."

Farc Set Up Cells Abroad

Just more of the same. Amazing how the Left is always willing to support a terrorist group.

Al Jazeera English - News - Report: Farc Set Up Cells Abroad: "The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia has established undercover cells abroad in 17 countries, a Spanish newspaper says, quoting from documents found on the computer of Raul Reyes, a slain commander of the anti-government group.

El Pais said on Sunday that Farc was using a strategy involving setting up legal organisations.

The report said that Farc was the central force behind a leftist group called the Bolivian Continental Co-ordinator, which had branches in 17 countries including Germany and Switzerland.

Farc was using these and other forums to set up support groups and underground cells, the daily said.

A diplomatic offensive seeking support throughout Latin America had found a providential friend in Hugo Chavez, the Venezuelan president, El Pais said in the latest of a series accusing Chavez of secretly helping FARC."

Mexico's president says "enough" to drug hitmen

I wonder if it is time for Mexico to hire some Professional Security since the military and police are so weak.

Reuters AlertNet - Mexico's president says "enough" to drug hitmen: "Mexican President Felipe Calderon said on Friday the country was sick and tired of rampant drug violence after five high-ranking policemen were killed in less than a week.

'We have to come together to confront this evil, we Mexicans have to definitively and categorically say, 'That's enough!',' Calderon said. 'We can't accept this situation, we have to take back our streets.'

He spoke after attending the funeral of regional commissioner Edgar Millan, one of Mexico's top federal policemen, who was murdered on Thursday by hired killers waiting for him at his home.

Calderon has deployed tens of thousands of soldiers and federal police around the country to bring powerful drug cartels under control, but the army has failed to reduce spiraling violence.

More than 2,500 people were killed in drug related violence in Mexico last year. Another 1,100 people have died so far this year as the drug gangs battle each other and security forces."

Fairfax Cop Who Tipped Terror Suspect Helped Kill Training Program

What a piece if trash. Sounds like it is time to kick his stupid butt and put him in a cell with some friendly Muslims.

Family Security Matters » Publications » Fairfax Cop Who Tipped Terror Suspect Helped Kill Training Program: "A Fairfax County Police sergeant who admits tipping off a terrorism suspect that he was under FBI surveillance also helped kill what had been a successful intelligence and terrorism-related training program within his police department.

Sgt. Weiss Rasool was sentenced to two years probation on April 22nd after pleading guilty to illegally accessing a police database to run license tag numbers for a friend who thought he was being followed. Those tags traced back to FBI agents who had Rasool's acquaintance under surveillance as part of a terrorism investigation.

The Washington Post reported that Rasool cried during his sentencing and apologized for what he called 'errors of judgment. But I never intended to put anybody's life at risk.' The Post further reported:"

Death toll in China HFMD outbreak hits 34

I hope it is finally starting to slow, even if almost no one out of China has noticed all these sick people.

Channelnewsasia.com: "The number of Chinese children confirmed dead from hand, foot and mouth disease has risen to 34 with nearly 25,000 people infected but the outbreak's spread may be slowing, state media said on Friday.

Xinhua news agency reported four new deaths, including an eight-month-old girl in southern China's Guangdong province and a one-year-old boy in the southwestern Guangxi region.

Two more children also had died in the hard-hit eastern province of Anhui, it said, adding that the number of cases nationwide had risen to 24,934 as of Thursday.

However, the national Health Ministry said those discharged from hospitals in Anhui now exceeded new cases for the first time.

Most new cases there also were less severe than previously, it said in a statement on its website."

Elderly Israeli woman killed by Gaza rocket - Middle East, World - The Independent

May the Lord care for this poor lady's soul.

Should we blame Europe for the aid that allows the terrorists to buy new missile parts from Iran.

Elderly Israeli woman killed by Gaza rocket - Middle East, World - The Independent: "A 75 year old Israeli woman was killed yesterday by a rocket fired from Gaza as Israel suggested any truce in the Strip depended on the release of the Army corporal seized almost two years ago.

The woman died after the rocket struck a house in Yesha, nine miles from Gaza's eastern border and further than the usual targets of Qassam rockets. Islamic Jihad said it had fired rockets at the time of the fatal attack.

The move came as Egypt's intelligence chief Omar Suleiman spent the day in Israel seeking a ceasefire agreement following Egypt's success in persuading the Palestinian armed factions to drop its earlier pre-condition that Israel halts military action in the West Bank."

Israeli Aid Teams Hard at work in Burma

I am glad that some people are able to bring in aid, even though the brutal dictator refuses to allow it. I wonder if anyone will praise the Israelis for this?

IsraeliGirl: Israeli Aid Teams Hard at work in Burma: "About 150,000 people are feared to have been killed and at least 1.5 million people left homeless after south Burma was devastated by cyclone Nargis. Aid agencies in Burma say it is only a matter of time before there are large-scale outbreaks of cholera and other water-born diseases in areas affected by Cyclone Nargis, leading to thousands more dead.

Even in this urgent situation, Burma's military authorities are refusing to accept international help. Most aid workers manage to get into the Myanmar area. However, most of the damage is in South Burma, in the Delta region. The Junta is not allowing aid workers into that region to help the people in need.

Despite the obstacles set by the authorities, Israeli aid workers were among the few able to enter deep inside the Delta region and assist the people in their time of need. To learn more about the situation we've spoken with a representative (note: name witheld to protect relief workers) of Israeli Flying Aid, one of the Israeli organizations working in the region now."

DEBKAfile - Exclusive: Iran-backed Hizballah offensive closes in on Israeli border: "Iran-backed Hizballah offensive closes in on Israeli border

May 10, 2008, 12:05 PM (GMT+02:00)

DEBKAfile’s military sources report: Hizballah’s advance on two key Lebanese locations Saturday, May 10 had immediate effect on the strategic balance between the Iran-backed Shiite group and Israel. Sidon in the south, Lebanon’s second largest city, which provides Hizballah with control of a continuous coastal strip from its southern Beirut district all the way to Tyre.

The second point is on the northern slopes of the Hermon range. After Hizballah seizes control of this enclave and the Syrian 10th and 14th armored divisions step over the border into Lebanon, the two forces can join to form a strong military line opposite Israel near the Litani River.

Our military sources report that the vanguard of the 10th Division has already moved across to the Lebanese side of the border.

Hizballah’s victory in taking over western and central Beirut therefore has had the effect of adding another link to the pro-Iranian chain encircling Israel. In many ways it is a more damaging setback for Israel’s national security than the Palestinian Hamas' seizure of the Gaza Strip

Yet Israel’s prime minister, defense minister and foreign minister are all too busy with the political fallout of the bribery case against Ehud Olmert to lift a finger to arrest Lebanon’s decline to a Tehran satellite before it is too late - any more than Hamas was stopped from developing into a major military menace.

Equally inert are the two presidents who are pledged to support the Siniora regime, George W. Bush and Nicolas Sarkozy. The United Nations, which maintains 15,000 armed peacekeepers in southern Lebanon, backed by marine forces off the shores of Beirut, has no thought of stopping the Iranian-Syrian-backed terrorist militia from capturing the country."

Fighting rages in Mt. Lebanon, Damour south of Beirut and northern town of Tripoli

May 12, 2008, 5:45 PM (GMT+02:00)

DEBKAfile reports: In the second winning round of its war on the pro-Western Siniora government, Hizballah pounded the Druze strongholds of anti-Syrian Walid Jumblatt in the Mt. Lebanon hills east of Beirut all day Sunday, April 11. When the Druze leader asked his rival Talal Arselan to broker a truce deal, Hizballah laid down an ultimatum: Druze militias must turn in their heavy weapons to the Lebanese army and disarm their troops or the attacks go on.

In the northern town of Tripoli Hizballah allies continued to fight pro-government Sunni loyalists.

Shiite gunmen continue to man roadblocks on Beirut highways including the airport road even through Hizballah agreed Saturday, May 10, to take its armed men off the streets after the army surrendered to its two key demands.

DEBKAfile’s sources report that Hizballah fighters mingle with Shiite Amal men in order to camouflage their continuing street presence. Lebanese soldiers still do not venture into the districts conquered by Hizballah in four days of fierce fighting. The crisis which has claimed 44 dead and 128 wounded is therefore far from over. Arab League foreign ministers met Sunday in emergency session called by Saudi Arabia and Egypt Sunday night. Damascus, which sent a low-level delegate instead of its foreign minister, vetoed the proposal to send an Arab peacekeeping force to hold Hizballah in check.

Israel’s deputy defense minister Vilnai said the Lebanese situation is worrying but there is no cause for Israel to intervene.

In obedience to Hizballah demands the Lebanese army revoked two government measures Saturday: the Shiite group’s independent telecommunication network will not be shut down and the pro-Hizballah Brig. Gen Wafiq Shqeir would keep his job as Beirut international airport head of security. The general was accused of waving through illegal Iranian arms shipments for Hizballah.

In a broadcast speech, Saturday, May 10, the pro-Western prime minister Fouad Siniora asked the army to defuse the crisis after Hizballah seized control of western Beirut, besieged the government center and attacked pro-government Sunni centers across Lebanon. Government loyalists found no support from Sinora’s powerful backers, the United States, France or even Saudi Arabia and Egypt. The pro-Western government was therefore forced to back down.

This meant its acceptance of Hizballah’s communication system in central, southern and eastern Lebanon and its direct link to Syrian and Iranian command centers in Damascus; and the Shiite group’s Beirut headquarters online communications link to its Revolutionary Guards bosses in Tehran.

Triumphant, the Hizballah chief Hassan Hasrallah will be a more dangerous enemy than ever. The army rather than the government laid down the condition that Hizballah withdraw from the Sunni districts of Beirut and the rest of the country and remove its armed men from the streets.

Even so, a government minister remarked that the deal awaits approval by Hizballah leaders and the Iranian ambassador in Beirut. It is far from certain that the Shiite terrorists will give up the territory they gained in the last four days.

UPDATE: Train Death And Series Of Illnesses Unrelated Says Chief Medical Officer Of Health

Good to know that it was not something horrible!

CityNews: Train Death And Series Of Illnesses Unrelated Says Chief Medical Officer Of Health: "What initially looked to be a frightening infectious disease outbreak that led to the death of one woman aboard a Via Rail train turned out to be a remarkable series of unconnected coincidences, Ontario's Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. David Williams, explained during a Friday afternoon press conference.

The elderly woman died during the train ride from Vancouver to Toronto, but health officials say she likely didn't have an infectious disease. Six other passengers also fell ill, with the most serious being rushed to hospital with a respiratory illness of some sort. Officials, however, believe that passenger was suffering from a pre-existing condition, and the five others who were reportedly ill with flu-like symptoms were all determined to have been feeling sick before they boarded the train.

Williams says the death and illnesses seemed to 'a confluence of two or three events' and were unrelated."

Barack Obama wants to be president of these 57 United States

I knew Obama was a moron on foreign policy, but this is insane! HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Barack Obama wants to be president of these 57 United States : Top of the Ticket : Los Angeles Times: "'It is wonderful to be back in Oregon,' Obama said. 'Over the last 15 months, we’ve traveled to every corner of the United States. I’ve now been in 57 states? I think one left to go. Alaska and Hawaii, I was not allowed to go to even though I really wanted to visit, but my staff would not justify it.'

The Times' conscientious Robin Abcarian thought she heard something different there. She checked her tape recorder. It had captured what he had actually said -- 57 states now."

Khalid Yasin, internationally-renowned Islamic hate sheikh and 9/11-denier, speaking in Dayton on May 16th

How do these serious terrorist preaching scumbags get invited to speak, or even live, in America? Someone must send this idiot to a country that he might like, say, Yemen.

Central Ohioans Against Terrorism: Khalid Yasin, internationally-renowned Islamic hate sheikh and 9/11-denier, speaking in Dayton on May 16th: "Khalid Yasin is one of the most notorious Islamic hate sheikhs in the world today. He had been widely condemned from the US to Britain to Australia for his virulent Wahhabism, his extreme anti-Americanism (despite the fact that he is an American-born convert), his justification of Islamic terrorism, his wild-eyed conspiracy theories, and his outright racial and religious bigotry. And an Australian news investigation found that Yasin had claimed academic degrees that the schools had no record of, and also discovered that he had engaged in outright fraud in building his international Islamic media empire.

So it is troubling to see that Khalid Yasin will be lecturing at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio on May 16th, sponsored by Dayton’s Masjid-at-Taqwa:"

The Beirut Media dance

The Sandmonkey has a good look at all the Middle Eastern Media following the fighting in Lebanon. Some of it interesting, some insightful, some funny as heck! Go read the rest of this long story.

Rantings of a Sandmonkey » The Beirut Media dance: "So we are finally there. Finally, after 3 years of pussyfooting, it's here. Oh boy, where do I begin?

Well, now that the gloves are off, we have become aware of 3 very important facts:

1) Hezbollah has lost its mind and decided to turn their weapons against the lebanese population.

2) Amal and the SSNP have vicious militias that are doing the work that Hezbollah doesn't want to be associated with.

3) The Sunni militia is a bunch of pansies, and Saad Al Harriri could never be his father.

I have been following the sataelite channels for the past 3 days, glued to my TV, watching what's going on with serious disbelief. I never thought that the Sunni neighborhoods would fall this quickly, nor that Hezbollah would control Beirut this easily. But here we are, and it all seems so…deliberate."

2nd LONDON EAST END PRIEST ATTACKED & BEATEN BY MUSLIMS

Why is it that I doubt that 'Asian youths' are drunk? That sounds like an excuse that the good Reverend made up to help his attackers in the name of Peace and Tolerance.

TheOPINIONATOR: 2nd LONDON EAST END PRIEST ATTACKED & BEATEN BY MUSLIMS: "A SECOND priest has been beaten up in his own churchyard in the space of just eight weeks in London’s East End — this time over an argument about a football.

The Rector of St Matthew’s in Bethnal Green, The Rev Kevin Scully, was attacked on Tuesday afternoon by three drunken youths who had returned to take their revenge for a row three days before.

He had taken their ball last Saturday after he saw them using a cross on the church as a basketball hoop.

He has been taunted with religious and racist abuse in the past, but believes the beating was more alcohol-fuelled than anything more sinister.

The attack follows the vicious assault on Canon Michael Ainsworth at St George-in-the-East church in Shadwell in March.

But although that attack was treated as a ‘faith hate’ crime, police consider the latest incident as simple assault."

Operations continue in Sadr City

The thugs that the Iranians have been aiding are falling apart. The Media is noticing, IF we call the military and bloggers the Media. Nah, that would insult all of my favorite bloggers!

Operations continue in Sadr City - The Long War Journal: "US and Iraqi forces continue to strike at the Mahdi Army in Baghdad despite the agreement reached between the Iraqi government and the Mahdi Army late Friday. Seventeen Mahdi Army fighters were killed in northeastern Baghdad over the past 24 hours.

Nine of the Mahdi Army fighters killed were killed in Sadr City: four Mahdi fighters were killed by an air weapons team as they planted an explosively formed penetrator roadside bomb; three were killed as they attacked the barrier emplacement teams along Qods Street; and two were killed as they fired rockets. Five more Mahdi Army fighters were killed by air weapons teams in New Baghdad as they grouped for an attack, and three more were killed as they conducted attacks in Adhamiyah.

The cease-fire signed yesterday between the Sadrist movement, which runs the Mahdi Army, and the government of Iraq will not hinder the building of the concrete barrier or operations against the Mahdi Army, US military officials have stated."

Israeli airstrikes kill four in Gaza

What a slant on this story! I don't think the UPI could have been worse than it usually is, but dang! What a joke!

It is a good thing to see more dead terrorists. Nothing wrong with it! Unless you are a terrorist or a terrorist supporter. But the UPI is acting as if the people who fire rickets into towns and cities at random to kill whoever they can are innocent, but the guy who fires a guided missile to destroy the rocket launcher and its crew are terrorists. I think all future news media coverage from Leftist Media organizations should be forced to come from Sderot. Lets see them change their tune then!

Israeli airstrikes kill four in Gaza: "Israeli airstrikes on Hamas targets overnight Saturday in Gaza killed five "terrorists" and injured four "Islamic Jihad operatives", Israelis said.

The Jerusalem Post quoted Hamas officials and Israeli Defense Forces as saying the casualties were part of response to a Friday incident in which an Israeli man was killed by a mortar shell at a settlement in the western Negev region of Israel.

The Post also said Hamas' military wing, Izzadin Kassam, announced that a Saturday morning rocket barrage that damaged buildings but caused no casualties in the Israeli city of Sderot was, in turn, a response to the Israel's overnight attack.

The Israeli delegation to the United Nations this week presented a complaint to U.N. Secretary Ban Ki-Moon about frequent rocket fire aimed at Israel coming from Gaza, the Post said."

Pastor shares hymnal with black supremacists

Why do people keep thinking that Obama has anything to do with this philosophy? Just because he talks about his love for Marxists and Black Liberation does not make him a part of those (that?) movement(s).

Pastor shares hymnal with black supremacists: "It turns out that a number of Jeremiah Wright's incendiary and racist comments are not new and are traceable to leaders of the Black Muslim movement. As it turns out, Wright's radical ranting is an echo.

A glance back at history reveals an eerie connection between black separatists, the Nation of Islam, or NOI, and Barack Obama's longtime pastor. Although both NOI and Wright excel at racist and anti-American rhetoric, it now appears that they read from the same hymnal.

For starters, Wright is known for calling white Americans 'blue-eyed devils.' However, for all his originality, he is not the creator of that curse. Wallace Fard, the founder of the Black Muslim movement, actually coined it."

Gandhi was anti-black, charges new biography

I have read other stuff about Gandhi, but this is kind of scary stuff. I wonder how we can tie the Liberals peaceful natures to this? Not that it matters much. Only Liberals believe their own lies.

Gandhi was anti-black, charges new biography: "Here are some of the lesser-known quotations from Gandhi's explosive writings:

During his early civil disobedience in South Africa, Gandhi, the authors say, made it clear he was no fighting for a color-blind society, but one that would be dominated by whites and Indians at the expense of blacks: 'Ours is on continual struggle against a degradation sought to be inflicted upon us by the Europeans, who desire to degrade us to the level of the raw Kaffir whose occupation is hunting, and whose sole ambition is to collect a certain number of cattle to buy a wife with and, then, pass his life of indolence and nakedness.' 'Kaffir' is a pejorative South African term for blacks, equivalent to the 'n' word in America.

* 'We believe as much in the purity of race as we think they do. … We believe also that the white race of South Africa should be the predominating race.'

* In a letter to Hitler in 1941, Gandhi wrote: 'Nor do I believe that you are the monster described by your opponents.'

* 'Hitler killed 5 million Jews. … But the Jews should have offered themselves to the butcher's knife. They should have thrown themselves into the sea from cliffs.'

* Regarding Washington, he wrote: 'I do not hesitate to say that it is highly unlikely that had I lived as (his contemporary), I would have called (him) a misguided patriot.""

Indian Navy to keep watch on Chinese nuclear submarine movements

It is very hard to construct a secret base anymore. I am glad that the Chinese tried it, just to see them publicly exposed. I think it is also nice to see that India is so worried about this development. Maybe this will push them even closer to the US.

Indian Navy to keep watch on Chinese nuclear submarine movements: "Indian Navy would be keeping a close watch on the movement of Chinese nuclear submarines, which are operating out of a recently discovered underground base in the South China Sea, Chief of Naval staff Admiral Sureesh Mehta said Friday in Mumbai.

Admiral Mehta, however, felt that the Chinese nuclear submarine base has been known to India for some time and does not pose any significant threat.

'We had known about it for some time and moreover when it is a nuclear submarine, it does not matter if the base is 100 miles away or 200 miles,' he added, PTI reported here.

'Chinese are very keen to come in the Indian Ocean and there is no doubt that they wish to come there. They did not have the assets till now,' the Naval chief said.

Satellite images obtained by nuclear weapons watchdog Federation of American Scientists had led to the discovery of a Chinese naval base on the Hainan Island in south China Sea."

Information Warfare: Stealthy China Probes Alarmed India

China is conducting major probes of every country's cyber networks. When should Cyber Security be delegated to the diplomats and not to the security experts? If the Chinese shut down the world's networks, will the security experts or the politicians get the blame? I think I know.

Information Warfare: Stealthy China Probes Alarmed India: "Stealthy China Probes Alarmed India
May 10, 2008: Indian government and military Internet security officials have been comparing notes, and have raised the alarm about Internet based attacks, and suspicious activity, coming from China. Particularly worrying is the probing of India's Internet infrastructure. This is a sign that China is mapping the Indian Internet, a necessary prerequisite to taking it down in wartime, or tampering with it in peacetime.

Indian security experts are also alarmed by the Internet based attacks on Estonian business and government targets last year. Russia denied any responsibility, but the attacks did come from Russia, and they were successful. It's these 'undeclared war' attacks that are particularly worrying. It means a rather damaging Internet conflict could take place, as an undeclared war. As a result, there are proposals to shore up defenses, and develop some offensive capability.

The government has been reluctant to proceed, fearful of spoiling the improving relations with China. Moreover, much of the Internet mischief coming out of China is, by general acknowledgment, just criminals out to steal. But Internet security experts insist that, hidden among all the criminal operations, is military activity, that is setting India up to take a fall in any future Cyber War. For"

Lebanese PM opens door to surrender. Army grants two key Hizballah demands

Has Big Media Global Warming Bias Begun to Endanger the Public?

What a pack of Lies! Where is Al Gore to denounce the "record snowfall" distortions that seem to minimize his wonderful movie? Any Liberal can tell us that anything that does not fit the Global Warming Model is just Bush's spin machine.

On the other hand, people who read and think and utilize their brain can find a way to disprove the Gore-ical and the Church of Gaea. They would stop believing if they stopped smoking so much crack. Right Dude?

American Thinker Blog: Has Big Media Global Warming Bias Begun to Endanger the Public?: "When Maine officials tried to warn residents of the dangers of this winter's near-record snowpack, Big Media slanted the story, hampering efforts to warn folks of the danger. 'This winters [sic] near-record snowfall has created a flood potential that is above normal,' began a news advisory released by the Maine River Flow Advisor Commission on March 6th.

'Statewide water content readings from this week's snow survey are some of the highest since 1969, the 'snow season' of record, and in some locations higher than the record.' In case there was any doubt, the banner headline on the release reads: 'Spring Flood Potential Elevated Due to Near-Record Snowfall.'

However, the lead in the Associated Press story in the next day's edition of the major regional daily, the Boston Globe, downplayed the threat posed by the snowpack, referring to it as just 'above-average,' and shifting the emphasis to concern about an approaching storm.

'The National Weather Service says weekend rain could cause some flooding of streets and small streams.'"

Deal Reached on Truce in Sadr City

It is the NYT, so most of the story finds a way to blame the non-terrorists for the violence. Making the terrorists into innocents is the major goal of the Leftist Media.

Deal Reached on Truce in Sadr City - New York Times: "Shiite leaders in Parliament and leaders of the movement of the Shiite cleric Moktada al-Sadr agreed to a truce early Saturday that would end more than a month of bloody fighting in the vast, crowded Baghdad ghetto of Sadr City.

The hope is to stop the bloodshed there, which has claimed several hundred lives, wounded many more and forced residents to flee the embattled neighborhood. The fighting was a test of Iraq’s Shiite-led government against powerful Shiite militias, both here in Baghdad and in Basra, to the south.

The deal would allow both sides to stand down from what was becoming a messy and unpopular showdown in the months leading up to crucial provincial elections. It is not clear who won or how long the truce would last, but at least for now it would end the internecine warfare among Shiite factions.

The agreement would give the government some control over Sadr City, a largely lawless area, and give members of Mr. Sadr’s militia who were not actively involved in the fighting a guarantee that they would not be arrested.

Parliament members involved in the deal said the gunmen had four days to withdraw."

Cell Phone Spying: Is Your Life Being Monitored?

Holy Sheep Dip! I am going to keep my cell in my pocket with some tissues from now on. If you read the article, you will find many other scary things people can do with your phone from a remote location.

Cell Phone Spying: Is Your Life Being Monitored?: "Advanced eavesdropping

So you’ve figured out where someone is, but now you want to know what they’re actually doing. Turns out you can listen in, even if they aren’t talking on their phone.

Dozens of programs are available that’ll turn any cell phone into a high-tech, long-range listening device. And the scariest part? They run virtually undetectable to the average eye.

Take, for example, Flexispy. The service promises to let you “catch cheating wives or cheating husbands” and even “bug meeting rooms.” Its tools use a phone’s microphone to let you hear essentially any conversations within earshot. Once the program is installed, all you have to do is dial a number to tap into the phone’s mic and hear everything going on. The phone won’t even ring, and its owner will have no idea you are virtually there at his side."

Hezbollah Is Committing War Crimes in Beirut!

What could I possibly add to the comments of the GWPundit? Just make sure you look at the terrorists using civilians to escort them in case of attack.

Gateway Pundit: Hezbollah Is Committing War Crimes in Beirut!: "Evidently, war crimes are acceptable when performed by terrorist groups?
Anything goes when you're a terrorist.
And, you get the added advantage that the Western media will ignore it.

Article 3 c) outrages upon personal dignity, in particular, humiliating and degrading treatment

But, terrorist organizations get a free ride...

Skills for Men - Things Men Should Be Able to Do - Esquire: "10. Buy a suit.

Avoid bargains. Know your likes, your dislikes, and what you need it for (work, funerals, court). Squeeze the fabric -- if it bounces back with little or no sign of wrinkling, that means it's good, sturdy material. And tug the buttons gently. If they feel loose or wobbly, that means they're probably coming off sooner rather than later. The jacket's shoulder pads are supposed to square with your shoulders; if they droop off or leave dents in the cloth, the jacket's too big. The jacket sleeves should never meet the wrist any lower than the base of the thumb -- if they do, ask to go down a size. Always get fitted.

11. Swim three different strokes. Doggie paddle doesn't count.

12. Show respect without being a suck-up. Respect the following, in this order: age, experience, record, reputation. Don't mention any of it.

13. Throw a punch. Close enough, but not too close. Swing with your shoulders, not your arm. Long punches rarely land squarely. So forget the roundhouse. You don't have a haymaker. Follow through; don't pop and pull back. The length you give the punch should come in the form of extension after the point of contact. Just remember, the bones in your hand are small and easy to break. You're better off striking hard with the heel of your palm. Or you could"

Lebanese army chief defies government as Syria steps in to back Hizballah’s conquest of Beirut districts

So, Syria is moving in, the army is sitting on its hands and allowing it, and the world is standing by. What a mess. I can't blame anyone for failure to enter this mess, but the UN has forces there to force Hezb'allah to disarm. WHY AREN'T THEY DISARMED? Frackin' UN is as useful as ticks. They suck out our life blood and return diseases.

DEBKAfile - Exclusive: Lebanese army chief defies government as Syria steps in to back Hizballah’s conquest of Beirut districts: "Lebanese army chief defies government as Syria steps in to back Hizballah’s conquest of Beirut districts

May 9, 2008, 6:19 PM (GMT+02:00)

At least 11 people were killed Friday, May 9, Day 3 of fierce clashes between Hizballah and pro-government forces, the worst since the 1975-90 civil war. At noon, Syrian Social Nationalist Party’s units entered Beirut to support Hizballah’s advancing occupation of Sunni West Beirut districts.

DEBKAfile’s Middle East sources report that Thursday night, army chief Gen. Michel Suleiman refused to obey prime minister Fouad Siniora’s order to declare a state of emergency for the crisis created by Hizballah’s declaration of war against the government. The general warned that if the government enacted an emergency, he would order the troops to return to barracks.

The SSNP is a Greek Orthodox arm of Syrian military intelligence.

Hizballah and fellow Shiite Amal fighters were thus able to seize control of most of pr-government Sunni West Beirut in clashes that have spread to other parts of the Lebanon while the government was left unprotected.

The Curse Of Combat Experience

The US continues to have the best and most professional military in the world, despite the best efforts of the Left. Uh-Rah!

Leadership: The Curse Of Combat Experience: "Thus the conventional warfare enthusiasts are left frustrated in their quest for some relief from all this Asymmetric Warfare stuff. Meanwhile, the combat experience and huge boost in training (even if for non-conventional warfare) has greatly increased the combat and leadership capabilities of the troops. This has benefits for conventional warfare. For example, a U.S. M-1 tank crew in Korea recently got a perfect score (very rare) in their main combat skills evaluation (Table 8 Gunnery.) Foreign military professionals don't see the U.S. Army as overspecialized in the wrong area. They see them as the most combat experienced force on the planet, and most capable for any kind of fight."

Use Of Mobile Phones By Women Forbidden In Islam

In Islam, women are the source of most evil, with infidels a close second. So, it is best to keep them in the house as slaves.

Urdu: "Pakistani Ulema: Use Of Mobile Phones By Women Forbidden In Islam

The ulema in Pakistan’s North West Frontier Province have declared that use of mobile phones by women is haram, or forbidden in Islam. The Urdu-language newspaper Roznama Khabrain reported that the imam of Jama Masjid Hazrat Umar Farooq made the announcement during his Friday sermon.

Jama Masjid Hazrat Umar Farooq is situated in the Hashtnagri police district of Peshawar. According to the report, the Imam said the religious scholars of the province have agreed by consensus that women cannot use mobile phones. He also said that men are permitted to receive and make calls but mobile phones cannot be used for non-shari’a purposes.

PASTOR’S 13-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER GANG-RAPED

The Religion of Peace and Tolerance shows its love and understanding for others.

Compass Direct News: "Muslim villagers in Mymensingh district eager to rid the area of the Christian work of a local pastor have gang-raped his 13-year-old daughter, the girl's father said.

Pastor Motilal Das of United Bethany Church said that at around 3 a.m. on Friday (May 2) the villagers sexually assaulted his daughter, Elina Das, and left her unconscious in front of his house in an attempt to drive him and his Christian ministry out of Laksmipur village in Fulbaria sub-district, 120 kilometers (75 miles) north of the capital.

Local residents have long been angry with him for his ministry and evangelism, he said, and he has received death threats.

“I did not pay attention to any of the threats or hindrances – I continued evangelical and pastoral activities with prayer,” Das told Compass. “They targeted me to evict from this area to stop the Christian activities. When nothing stopped me, then they wanted to leave me scarred for life, so that I would be upset and not be able to show my face to the society for shame, and therefore I would leave the village.”

Das, who became the first Christian in the area in 1986 and has been key in an increase to more than 250 Christians and the emergence of 12 churches, said the brutal attack was pre-planned and calcu"

It's radioactive, and it's missing

Well, it looks like today is a day for bad news.

It's radioactive, and it's missing: "Britain's intelligence service MI5 has launched a high priority search for more than 1,000 pieces of missing radioactive medical equipment used in the treatment of cancers and other illnesses in British hospitals, says a report in Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin.

The loss was discovered after Britain's understaffed National Health Service hospitals made their quarterly inventory returns to the government Environmental Agency -- responsible for the safety of all medical radioactive materials.

In all, some 10,000 items -- mostly used in nuclear medicine -- were accounted for. Those passed their use-by date were destroyed at one of Britain's nuclear reactors."

Wolf Howling: Iraq Fact Check: "There is a new resource out that perhaps our Dem duo ought to be checking. Think military expenditures for Iraq are what's breaking our bank? To the contrary, 'today’s U.S. defense budget accounts for just over four percent of the economy, less than the U.S. commitment at any point during the four decades of the Cold War. During the Truman and Eisenhower Administrations, the U.S. defense budget rose as high as 13 percent of the total economy. Even during the Reagan Administration, when the economy expanded significantly, the defense budget accounted for approximately six percent of GDP.' And that just one of the topics 'fact checked' in a recent document put out by the White House Office of Public Liason and posted at Iraq Status Report.

US says Qaeda chief in Iraq not captured

What a downer for the start of my blogging day. I wonder if this scared a bunch of lesser terrorists into heading home at least?

US says Qaeda chief in Iraq not captured - Yahoo! News: "The US military denied on Friday that Al-Qaeda in Iraq chief Abu Hamza al-Muhajir, who carries a US bounty of five million dollars, had been captured by security forces.

State television Al-Iraqiya reported on Thursday that a man calling himself as Muhajir was captured by Iraqi forces in the northern province of Nineveh.

US military spokeswoman Major Peggy Kageleiry said the detained individual was not Muhajir, whose real name according to the military is Abu Ayyub al-Masri.

'They did not catch Abu Hamza al-Muhajir. Somebody with same name but not connected with him. It is not him,' Kageleiry told AFP.

When asked if the military confirmed Muhajir was not in the custody of security forces, she said: 'I confirm that.'"

Hezbollah overruns west Beirut as Lebanon on brink

Iran is, in my humble opinion, starting a War over in Lebanon to distract from the War they are fomenting, and losing, in Iraq. Hunt down the Republican Guard and see what happens next.

Hezbollah overruns west Beirut as Lebanon on brink: "Beirut residents were fleeing for shelter elsewhere as tanks rolled through the streets and hundreds of riot police and troops patrolled the city, but did not get involved in the fighting.

Lebanon was largely cut off from the outside world, with the international airport and Beirut port shut and some roads to neighbouring Syria blockaded by burning tyres.

Arab nations led by regional powerhouse Saudi Arabia are pushing for a special session of foreign ministers to tackle the crisis and some Middle East states have begun trying to evacuating residents.

President Shimon Peres of Israel -- whose country fought a devastating war against Hezbollah in 2006 -- claimed the violence was fomented by Iran to further what he said was Tehran's goal to control all of the Middle East.

In Damascus, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad -- whose country is Iran's closest regional ally -- said the unrest was a purely 'internal affair.'

Witnesses reported fierce gunbattles in several parts of west Beirut as the Sunni neighourhoods considered bastions of Lebanon's ruling bloc fell to militants from Hezbollah and its ally Amal."

Train quarantined in Canada after passenger dies

Anyone know more?

Train quarantined in Canada after passenger dies: "Canadian authorities quarantined a Via Rail passenger train after one person died and several were seriously ill on Friday, local media said.

Police and ambulances rushed to the scene in the hamlet of Foleyet in northern Ontario to tend to those with flu-like symptoms and find out what was causing the illness, said public broadcaster CBC.

'They've got the train quarantined,' town official Deborah DesRochers told CBC. 'They're trying to isolate what it is.'

According to reports, as many as 10 people were ill with flu-like symptoms when the train crossing Canada with 260 passengers and 30 crew made its regular morning stop in Foleyet.

The illnesses appeared to be contained in two rail cars.

Via Rail and health officials were not immediately available to comment."

Maryland Woman Fined $310 for Killing Police Officer

This penalty is a crime. I wonder if she brags about killing the cop to her friends and family.

FOXNews.com - Maryland Woman Fined $310 for Killing Police Officer - Local News | News Articles | National News | US News: "The Howard County State's Attorney's Office says a driver who struck and killed a county police officer last year has paid her traffic fines.

Prosecutors say Stephanie Grissom of Columbia paid $310 in fines for speeding and negligent driving. She also received three points on her driving record.

In March, a county grand jury declined to indict Grissom on automobile manslaughter charges.

Police say Grissom was driving 71 mph in a 55-mph zone on Route 32 when she struck Officer Scott Wheeler. The officer was working a speed enforcement detail and had stepped into the road to flag Grissom down when he was struck."

Happy 60th birthday, Israel

Happy Birthday!

Happy 60th birthday, Israel: well done for surviving | The Spectator: "Israel is the only country whose creation was approved by the UN; yet it is the only country whose legitimacy is called into question. It is the only country which the world requires to compromise with its Palestinian Arab attackers and accede to their demands, even while they are firing rockets at its schools and houses and blowing up its citizens. It is the only country which continues to provide electricity and basic services to those attackers and routinely treats thousands of Palestinians in its own hospitals, even those who have Israeli blood on their hands. And yet it is the only country which, in the court of public opinion, is condemned for behaving ‘disproportionately’ when it uses targeted military means to defend itself, and is accused of causing the very ‘Nazi’ or ‘apartheid’ atrocities of which it itself is the victim.

At present, the situation looks particularly ominous. Israel is menaced on several fronts by Iran which, racing to develop a nuclear weapon, is threatening a new genocide of the Jews while denying the last one. In Lebanon Hassan Nasrallah, the leader of the Iranian-sponsored army Hezbollah, which is once again armed with thousands of rockets, says the next attack on Israel is not a matter of ‘if"

Pakistan cleric asks Indian counterpart to withdraw ‘fatwa’ on cow slaughter

Naturally, when Islam is asked to respect another religion, Islamic scholars start to quote all the parts of their religion that explain why they can not. Why is Islam so afraid to allow growth in religion.

href="http://www.topnews.in/pakistan-cleric-asks-indian-counterpart-withdraw-fatwa-cow-slaughter-240203">Pakistan cleric asks Indian counterpart to withdraw ‘fatwa’ on cow slaughter | Top News: "An Islamic cleric in Pakistan has demanded that the ‘fatwa’ issued by the mufti of the Darul Uloom Deoband (in India’s Uttar Pradesh), which cautioned Indian Muslims to be wary of Hindus’ feelings while slaughtering cows, be withdrawn immediately.

He said that eating cow meat was legal according to the Shariat, and that such fatwas by Muslim clerics in India would “encourage Hindu beliefs”, and the next generations of the Muslims in India will be involved in Hindu beliefs.

A few days ago, the mufti of the Darul Uloom Deoband (DUD), Mufti Habibur Rehman, had said that Indian Muslims should take care when slaughtering the cow, which is considered sacred by Hindus. He also pointed out that the slaughter of the cow was prohibited under Indian law, and hence it was not correct to eat cow meat secretly.

In response, the head of Darul Ifta wa Al-Qazzath of the Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JD) Pakistan, Mufti Abdul Rehman Al Rehmani, said that the “fatwa” should be withdrawn immediately and justified. “The fatwa encourages Hindu beliefs,” the Daily Times quoted Al Rehmani as saying.

Al Rehmani claimed that Rehman’s “fatwa” was wrong because according to Islamic education the cow was a major cause of idolism and polytheism. “And if Mufti Habibur Rehman tells Indian Muslims to comply with Indian law, then the coming generations of Muslims in India will be involved in Hindu beliefs,” said Rehmani."

Who could know?

Ms Phillips is such a smart lady.

Thanks for finding yet more proof of the UN aid to terrorists. The UN is such a corrupt joke. Actually, it is too dangerous to be a joke. It is not very funny anymore.

The Spectator: "
Who could know?
Tuesday, 6th May 2008

The UN has long effectively behaved as a club of terror, excusing, ignoring or condoning acts of terrorism and tyranny while repeatedly singling out their principal state victim, Israel, for grotesque condemnation. The role of its relief agency UNWRA in supervising ‘refugee camps’ which are factories of terrorism has long been deeply compromised. Israel has repeatedly claimed that terrorists operate under the cover of UNWRA vehicles and facilities. The UN however has always strenuously denied any involvement whatsoever in such activities. Now however Reuters tells us that the headmaster of a UN school in Gaza, Awad al-Qiq who was killed last week in an Israeli air strike on a 'mechanic's workshop', taught by day and made rockets for Islamic Jihad by night. Wrapped in an Islamic Jihad flag, he was buried as a terrorist hero.

Who knew?

Not his family, not the slightest suspicion apparently, all a terrible shock. And not the UN, good gracious no, not a clue, natch.

Spokesman Christopher Gunness said UNRWA, which spelled its teacher's surname al-Geeg, was looking into the matter. ‘We have a zero-tolerance policy towards politics and militant activities in our schools. Obviously, we are not the thought police and we cannot police people's minds,’ he said.

Of course not! How could anyone expect the UN to know that one of its paid officials was — never mind the contents of his mind — actually making rockets and mortars on a regular basis for Hamas? For the UN, clearly, ‘zero tolerance’ of terrorism means zero scrutiny.

He added that staff were also regularly instructed not to engage in political or militant activities of any kind.

Yersss, Hamas must really be quaking in its boots. Doubtless such pieties will continue to put the minds of the American donors of UNWRA fully at rest. "

Hitmen assassinate a top Mexican policeman

Time for the US to help with direct police and military action yet?

Hitmen assassinate a top Mexican policeman | International | Reuters: "Hired hitmen, one wielding a pistol with a silencer, shot dead one of Mexico's top federal police officers at his home on Thursday, in a blow to President Felipe Calderon's fight against drug cartels.

Three gunmen waited for regional commissioner Edgar Millan at his house in the capital and shot him nine times as he came home early in the morning and opened the door, government officials said.

'They were hunting him,' a spokesman for the Security Ministry said.

Mexican media said the attackers, one of whom was caught by Millan's bodyguards, were professional killers hired by the powerful Sinaloa cartel, headed by Mexico's most wanted man, Joaquin 'Shorty' Guzman. The man arrested had two pistols, one with a silencer, and was wearing a latex glove."

Recession, recession, where's the recession?

Mr Elder knows how to make things easy to understand about the economy.

Recession, recession, where's the recession?: "'It's a recession,' said former President Harry Truman, 'when your neighbor loses his job; it's a depression when you lose yours.'

For people facing home foreclosure, job loss or the struggle of paying high gas prices, the definition of a recession seems immaterial and insignificant. True.

But during an election year, the media's constant use or expectation of 'recession' does matter. Sen. Barack Obama, the Democratic Party's likely nominee, already considers the U.S. economy 'in a recession.'

So are we – at least as economists commonly define the term?

No – not even close.

A recent typical news wire story, however, goes like this: '(George W.) Bush's news conference … appeared to be a pre-emptive measure of sorts, as it came a day before the release of statistics on the nation's gross domestic product for January through March. The common definition of a recession is two consecutive quarters of declining GDP, and many expect Wednesday's report to provide the first official confirmation of a slide.'"

Al Qaeda Decapitated in Iraq

Yet more good news! I must not be reading the Main Stream News.

Al Qaeda Decapitated in Iraq: "May 7, 2008

Between mid-March and mid-April, al Qaeda suffered major losses in Iraq. American and Iraqi troops killed or captured 53 al Qaeda leaders. These include men in charge of entire cities (or portions of large cities like Mosul or Baghdad), as well as men in charge of various aspects of terror operations (making bombs, placing them or minding the bombers). Most important, nine of the ten most senior men involved, were captured, and interrogated. This led to locating more al Qaeda staff, and assets. Hundreds of weapons and explosives caches have been discovered this year, as a result of interrogating captured terrorists. The result has been a sharp fall in suicide bomber attacks, and the ones still carried out are against soft targets (civilians), including the recent funeral of two men earlier killed by terrorists. This was part of an al Qaeda campaign to force Sunni Arabs to switch sides again and support terrorism. But these attacks have the opposite effect, causing more hatred for al Qaeda.

All this is good news, meaning it's not reported. Face, any media outlet that puts out too much good news will go out of business. Bad news brings in the eyeballs and advertising revenue. Stories of desertion and desperation in Basra grab the headlines, while al Qaeda's travails are relegated to the back pages,"

Arabs Fed Up With Palestinians

More good news for the civilized world. More bad news for the Left.

I love all the good news lately!

Israel: Arabs Fed Up With Palestinians: "More Arab diplomats are privately telling the Palestinians (both Hamas and Fatah) that the Arab world is fed up with Palestinian squabbling, corruption and general inability to move forward. This is not expected to change anything, and avoids the fact that the Arab nations caused many of the Palestinians problems by not allowing Palestinians to migrate to other Arab nations after 1947 (the Palestinians could only stay as refugees). Israeli traditionalists see all this as an opportunity to take control of more land in the West Bank (which they see as part of 'Greater Israel') and East Jerusalem (traditionally the Arab side of town). The Palestinians insist on removing all Israelis from areas they have moved into since 1967 (when Israel conquered the West Bank). That is not likely to happen because the small religious parties in the Israeli parliament are crucial for forming a government."

Corporate Spies Killing The CIA

Intelligence: Corporate Spies Killing The CIA: "The CIA is having a growing problem with their analysts and spies being recruited away by corporations. One unpleasant, for government intelligence agencies, development of the last few decades has been the growing popularity of 'competitive intelligence' (corporate espionage.) It's a really big business, with most large (over a billion dollars of annual sales) corporations having separate intelligence operations. Spending on corporate intel work is over $5 billion a year, and is expected to more than double in the next four years.

The corporate recruiters have a pretty easy time of it, as they can offer higher pay, better working conditions and bonuses. The U.S. government is fighting back, at least on the bonus front. The big innovation is an old corporate one, 'performance-based compensation.' Government employee unions usually fight this sort of thing, because it makes too many union members look bad. But there is no union at the CIA, and most other intel agencies. So the Director of National Intelligence is implementing a number of new personnel practices, in order to make it more difficult for corporate intelligence operations to recruit government operatives."

Iraq: Sadr Stalls On Surrender

Sadr is hiding in Iran telling his thugs to die so that it looks like an assault on Islam. Unfortunately for him, it is Muslim on Muslim fighting with few non-Muslim casualties. I assume that the Muslims will win. It might also be safe to assume that the majority of Muslims understand that this is not about the infidels, but about the Persian influence in Arab lands.

Iraq: Sadr Stalls On Surrender: "Sadr Stalls On Surrender
May 7, 2008: With their Basra bases destroyed, the Mahdi Army is making a last stand in the eastern Baghdad Sadr City neighborhood. U.S. troops have erected concrete reinforced roadblocks around the Mahdi Army strongholds, and then work with Iraqi troops (who do most of the fighting) to clean out the Shia militiamen house by house. Thousands of civilians have been fleeing, once they see the roadblocks go up, for they know that the Mahdi fighters use civilians as human shields. In one well reported case, a Mahdi Army warlord set up his command post next to a hospital, believing this would make him immune from air attacks. He was wrong, even though the missile that destroyed his operation also blew out windows in the adjacent hospital. In the last six weeks, the Baghdad fighting has cost over 3,000 casualties. Over 90 percent of them are Iraqi, and most of those are Mahdi Army fighters (the rest are Iraqi army and police)."

Leadership: Looking For Warrior Chiefs

This is kind of a cool way to train a military. I can see the tribes starting to get behind this so that they have their own trainers.

Leadership: Looking For Warrior Chiefs: "After years of badgering by the United States, more NATO training teams are being made available, and this year, the majority of the twenty teams in Afghanistan are non-U.S. This has created another problem. Every nation providing training teams, tends to teach military techniques the trainers are most familiar with. So each Afghan unit gets taught how to do things a little differently. Turns out that this is not that much of a problem in Afghanistan, where there has never been a lot of uniformity in the army. In fact, the army currently being trained is the most professional and best trained one Afghanistan has ever had."

No More Kicking Doors Down?

I sound like a broken record! More good news for the Left to ignore. If I can find it so easily, why can't the Media? Them their poor misguided followers in the population might start to feel better about the World today.

No More Kicking Doors Down?: "The war has changed. No longer are Marines kicking in doors and battling insurgents with continuous gunfire. Instead, they are walking through the war-torn streets of Iraq, the same streets that just a few short years ago were the sights of horrendous warfare, where Marines are now continuously greeted by hoards of children, with their parents or guardians watching, smiling from a distance.

Now, with the future of their children at stake, the Iraqi people are taking their own 'stand' against al-Qaeda, giving the Marines tips on the locations of weapons, explosives caches or 'bad guys,' when they used to be scared to give such tips in fear of insurgents reprisal.

'The Iraqi people have so much fear that they won't be able to provide a good life for their children,' said Maj. Guillermo Rosales, commanding officer, Company F, 2nd Battalion, 24th Marines, Regimental Combat Team 1. 'The Marines are working with the (Iraqi Police), going out on patrols with them and the reaction from the people, seeing us work together like that, is overwhelming. They say that they feel more secure when we are in the area.'

This security felt by the people, given to them by the presence of Marines, has prompted the people to help locate enemy weapons 'hide outs' in the area and rid the area of insurgency."
