Details emerge in S.C. explosives case - Yahoo! News

It would be so easy to just let these young men just travel back to the Middle East to join the jihad for real. Then shoot them as they enter Iraq. I am sure the CIA can put a bug under their skin and trace them. That could be nice!

Details emerge in S.C. explosives case - Yahoo! News: "Megahed, 21, and Sherif Mohamed, 24, both students at the University of South Florida in Tampa, were indicted Aug. 31 on federal charges of transporting explosives across state lines. Mohamed also faces terrorism-related charges on suspicion of demonstrating how to use the explosives. They were arrested on state charges of possession of an explosive device after an Aug. 5 traffic stop in South Carolina. The state charge was dropped after the federal indictment."

Key anti-al-Qaida sheik slain in Iraq

I think it is safe to say that the terrorists who have been trying to reestablish their control are responsible for this. Why is the media afraid to say it? Is it because members of the Religion of Peace might then assassinate them, too? Cowards! Fight for freedom and kill the terrorists.

Key anti-al-Qaida sheik slain in Iraq - Yahoo! News: "The attack occurred one year after the goateed, charismatic, chain-smoking young sheik organized 25 Sunni Arab clans into an alliance against al-Qaida in Iraq, seeking to drive the terror movement from sanctuaries where it had flourished after the U.S.-led invasion in 2003. No group claimed responsibility for the assassination, but it was widely assumed to have been carried out by al-Qaida, which already had killed four of Abu Risha's brothers and six other relatives for working with the U.S. military."

Murky raid heats up Syria-Israel tension

This still sounds like a recon raid to me. Just to verify the existence of the nuclear program. I do wonder what was found! I think the main reason for the, comparative, silence by Syria is that they have something they do not want to show the world. What could it be? I am going with missing Iraqi weapons programs. Anyone think I am wrong?

Murky raid heats up Syria-Israel tension - Yahoo! News: "Syria and Israel last turned their guns on each other in all-out war a quarter century ago, but tensions are sky high after a mysterious Israeli airstrike deep into Syrian territory last week.

America says the target was Iranian missiles, while others have raised questions of possible North Korean links. Israel, however, hasn't even acknowledged anything happened, and Syria has said very little beyond announcing the incursion and complaining to the United Nations.

Still, neither side appears eager for an escalation. Israel put its troops on high alert along the Golan Heights frontier and Syria discreetly called up some air defense reservists, but the crisis has seemed more a war of nerves than preparation for hostilities."

Muslim caught in park with AK-47 assault rifle

What a crock! Dressed in black with black face paint and an AK? But this is not a terrorist? What was he doing then? Send him to Gitmo and get the truth from him!

Jihad Watch: Dearborn, Michigan: Muslim caught in park with AK-47 assault rifle: "A third-year medical student -- which fact recalls the recent Doctors' Plot in the UK, and the news that came out at that time of large-scale attempts by jihadists to recruit doctors and other professionals.

But let us not rush to judgment. Maybe he was hunting squirrels.

Video here (thanks to Ray).

Coverage is very sparse. Here is a story from the thrice-weekly Press & Guide, "Man with AK-47 assault rifle arrested after leaving Dearborn's Hemlock Park":

DEARBORN - Houssein Zorkot, a 26-year-old Dearborn resident, was arraigned Tuesday in 19th District Court on multiple felony charges, including carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent — a five-year felony."

The 'proxy war': UK troops are sent to Iranian border

I do not think 350 troops will change the course of the battle on this scale.

The 'proxy war': UK troops are sent to Iranian border - Independent Online Edition > Middle East: "n signs of a fast-developing confrontation, the Iranians have threatened military action in response to attacks launched from Iraqi territory while the Pentagon has announced the building of a US base and fortified checkpoints at the frontier. The UK operation, in which up to 350 troops are involved, has come at the request of the Americans, who say that elements close to the Iranian regime have stepped up supplies of weapons to Shia militias in recent weeks in preparation for attacks inside Iraq."

Taliban Admit Defeat

About time! But will the Media pick up on this? I doubt it!

Afghanistan: Taliban Admit Defeat: "September 11, 2007: The Taliban offered to begin negotiating with the government. In Afghan parlance, that's the Taliban way of saying they are defeated and want to discuss peace terms. Over the past few months, Taliban attacks have become increasingly desperate, and bloody. But most of the dead have been Taliban. The only 'successful' attacks have been those using suicide bombers, and these kill mostly Afghan civilians."

The history of Islam vs America

WorldNetDaily: A 200-year-old lesson on 9/11: "With the 6th anniversary of 9/11 among us, as well as the imminent report on the status of the war from Gen. David Petraeus, the commander of U.S. troops in Iraq, America continues to face the fallout and frontlines of the war on terror.

Despite debates over the success of surges and the truths behind 9/11, one of the most significant deliberations remains how many Americans are still in denial about the depth and breadth of extremists' hatred for our nation, liberties and way of life. Do people really think ceasing a war in Iraq will quench their fire to destroy our country?

Radical Muslims' guile existed far before 9/11, and it will be there far after an Iraqi war. In fact, it was apparent from the beginning of our nation, as seen in the Barbary Powers Conflict, a confrontation between the five Barbary nations (Tripoli, Turkey, Tunis, Algiers and Morocco) and what they considered the "Christian nations" (England, Denmark, France, Spain and the new United States). Russians profit from oil prices

I thought it was Boosh and his cronies, eg Haliburton and Chaney, were the only ones profiting?

Procurement: Russians Buy Everything: "Russians Buy Everything September 8, 2007: Russia has put over three dozen new weapons systems into service this year. Some are long delayed Cold War era projects, that were revived in the last few years. Russian finances are in great shape because of the much higher prices for oil and natural gas. A lot of that money has been going into restoring the much diminished armed forces. The new weapons include weapons and equipment for all branches of the armed forces. Russia is striving to have a modernized military, for they could never afford to go back to the days of the Soviet Union (which dissolved in 1991), when the armed forces had five times as many troops (over five million) and dibs on over ten percent of the national GNP (no one is sure of the exact amount, as the communists were not big fans of accountants and accurate financial reporting.) Currently, Russia is playing by West European rules when it comes to military spending, meaning no more than three percent of GDP is going to the military. With a $1.7 trillion dollar economy, growing at 7 percent a year, the generals can expect a lot more cash to work with."

"Our followers 'must live in peace until strong enough to wage jihad'"

Why do the Leftists and Media ignore stories like this?

Jihad Watch: "Our followers 'must live in peace until strong enough to wage jihad'": "Let's hope. More on yesterday's story about Deobandi control of almost half of the mosques in the United Kingdom, by Andrew Norfolk for the Times Online:
One of the world’s most respected Deobandi scholars believes that aggressive military jihad should be waged by Muslims “to establish the supremacy of Islam” worldwide.
Justice Muhammad Taqi Usmani argues that Muslims should live peacefully in countries such as Britain, where they have the freedom to practise Islam, only until they gain enough power to engage in battle.
His views explode the myth that the creed of offensive, expansionist jihad represents a distortion of traditional Islamic thinking."
