Man in Month-Old Vegas Ricin Case Wakes

Good morning Roger, we have some questions. Would you like to eat this powder we found in your room?

Man in Month-Old Vegas Ricin Case Wakes: "A man who may have been exposed to toxic ricin a month ago in his Las Vegas motel room has regained consciousness.

Authorities say 57-year-old Roger Bergendorff remains in critical condition but is speaking with investigators.

It's the first time since Bergendorff has talked to officials since he was hospitalized on Valentine's Day. Several vials of ricin powder were later found in his motel room."

High-Level al-Qaida Figure Is Captured

Another one bites the dust! I wonder how much information was dragged out of this guy?

Welcome to Club Gitmo, the place to calm your jihadi nerves and prepare for your next round of slaughter.

High-Level al-Qaida Figure Is Captured: "Authorities have captured a high-level al-Qaida figure who helped Osama bin Laden escape from Afghanistan in 2001, the Pentagon announced Friday.

Defense Department spokesman Bryan Whitman declined to say when or where Mohammad Rahim was captured—or by whom—announcing only that he was handed over by the CIA to the Pentagon earlier this week and is being held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

But in a memo obtained by The Associated Press, CIA Director Michael Hayden told agency employees that Rahim was detained in the summer of 2007.

'Rahim is a tough, seasoned jihadist,' Hayden said. 'His combat experience, which dates back to the 1980s, includes plots against US and Afghan targets.'

Rahim is a close associate of bin Laden and has ties to al-Qaida organizations throughout the Middle East, Whitman said.

He said Rahim helped prepare the al-Qaida hideout at Tora Bora—a mountain area full of warrens used by bin Laden during the 2001 U.S. invasion of Afghanistan. He assisted al-Qaida's escape from the area during the U.S. operation to try to catch the al-Qaida leader, officials said.

'Rahim's detention in the summer of 2007 was a blow to more than one terrorist network,' Hayden said. 'He gave aid to al-Qaida, the Taliban, and other anti-Coalition militants."

House seeks debt limit increase to $10.2 trillion

Of course, the Dems tool control of the Congress by promising to control the budgets which the Republicans had gone overboard with. (Was it the War or something else? Nope! We Conservatives hate to spend the tax dollars! ) Now that the Dems have proven to be even worse than the Republicans, what will the next step be? Where can we turn now that both parties have proven to be untrustworthy?

"Spend the money!" Says the Dems, "Tax the Rich!" That always works so well. What is the first thing that the hiring class does when the government takes away more money? They fire people! Then the politicians whine about unemployment! How insane does a person have to be to NOT understand how this works? It happens in every cycle of power changes between the parties.

Time to just install a true Conservative, cut the spending and tell the poor to get jobs. The disabled will have to get by for a little while things get revamped in the system. The old will still deserve the pensions that the government promised, but the social safety net needs to be moved to the states so that the Federal system can concentrate upon larger issues.

House seeks debt limit increase to $10.2 trillion | Reuters: "The government's debt limit would be raised to $10.2 trillion under a budget plan for next year approved by the U.S. House of Representatives.

The House's fiscal 2009 budget, which passed on Thursday, would increase U.S. borrowing authority by $385 billion from the current limit of $9.815 trillion, according to the House Budget Committee.

The Senate on Friday passed its own version of a fiscal 2009 budget that did not address the question of raising federal borrowing authority.

The two chambers in coming weeks are expected to try to work out their differences and then pass a budget for next year that would spend $3 trillion while projecting a deficit in the range of $340 billion to $366 billion for the year."

Dogs Found Hanged, Burned in Pennsylvania Over Satanic Symbol

I guess that the people who did this will be fine, because the Muslims have already been successfully claiming that any act in the name of religion is fine. Precedent has been set! Fly a jet into a building? Fine! As long as you praise Allah as you slaughter thousands. So, therefore, it is safe to assume that killing a few dogs is fine as long as you dedicate it to Satan. Right?

FOXNews.com - Dogs Found Hanged, Burned in Pennsylvania Over Satanic Symbol - Local News | News Articles | National News | US News: "State police say they found three dogs hanging and burned over a pile of burning tires in Fayette County.

Police say the dogs were found about 5 a.m. Thursday in Redstone Township hanging by ropes from a tree.

Theresa Linden, manager with the Fayette County Humane Society, says officials don't know if the dogs were alive when they were hanged.

Linden says authorities also found the image of a pentagram on the ground, a five-pointed star commonly associated with Satanism.

The back of one dog was burned off. Another had puncture wounds to its neck.

Authorities believe more than one person was involved because the dogs were heavy. One weighed about 75 pounds."

Who Gets Rich Off Of $3.00/Gallon Gas?

Big oil gets less than half the cash the government gets out of oil? Who would have guessed?

Who Gets Rich Off Of $3.00/Gallon Gas? - Say Anything: "The knee jerk reaction from most Americans would probably be “big oil!” But CNN has an interesting article dissecting where the money you pay for gasoline goes for, and the reality is that big government, and not big oil, is the one getting rich.

The government takes about 40 cents right off the top, with about 18 cents going to the feds. State taxes vary widely, but the national average is about 22 cents a gallon. . . ."

Paris Book Fair opens amid controversy

Of course the members of the Religion of Peace are going to boycott this! It is amazing that they are not calling for the slaughter of everyone who has the nerve to show up. See, Muslims can be tolerant and not call for slaughter! Some people have said it is not possible, but this shows just how tolerant Muslims can be when facing a horrible insult to Islam like this.

Paris Book Fair opens amid controversy - International Herald Tribune: "Opening the Paris Book Fair should have been a low-key cultural event during the state visit to France of President Shimon Peres of Israel. Instead, it was charged with Middle East tensions.

Several Arab countries are boycotting the prestigious annual fair, where Peres was speaking Thursday, because it honors Israeli writers.

The Nobel Peace laureate's appearance at the book fair comes near the end of his five-day state visit to France - a sign of President Nicolas Sarkozy's effort to rebuild frayed ties with Israel.

'I am against the boycott of books,' Peres said Wednesday. 'Books are written to awaken reflection, to try to make sense of ideas.'

Sarkozy's spokesman called for calm."

'Magic is over' for U.S., says French foreign minister

The magic might be over, but it is not the French who will take over.

'Magic is over' for U.S., says French foreign minister - International Herald Tribune: "Asked whether the United States could repair the damage it has suffered to its reputation during the Bush presidency and especially since the 2003 U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, Kouchner replied, 'It will never be as it was before.'

'I think the magic is over,' he continued, in what amounted to a sober assessment from one of the strongest supporters in France of the United States.

U.S. military supremacy endures, Kouchner noted, and the new president 'will decide what to do - there are many means to re-establish the image.' But even that, he predicted, 'will take time.'

Kouchner began the 90-minute event with a speech that emphasized that 'there is not just a new diplomacy; there is a new world.'"

Archbishop kidnapped in Iraq is found dead

Pity. If only Christians were as tolerant of other religions as the Religion of Peace...

Obviously, this guy deserved it for saying that he was not a Muslim!

Sura (9:29) - "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued."

No jizya, no life.

Archbishop kidnapped in Iraq is found dead - International Herald Tribune: "A Chaldean Catholic archbishop kidnapped in Iraq last month has been found dead, the news agency of Italian bishops' conference said Thursday.

The SIR news agency said Archbishop Paulos Faraj Rahho was found dead near the Iraqi city of Mosul, from where he had been abducted Feb. 29.

'Monsignor Rahho is dead. We have found him lifeless near Mosul,' the agency quoted the auxiliary bishop of Baghdad, Monsignor Shlemon Warduni, as saying. 'The kidnappers had buried him.'

Rahho was kidnapped soon after he left Mass in Mosul. Three people who had been with him were killed by the kidnappers. Pope Benedict XVI immediately called for his release, and said the abduction was an 'abominable' act.

The Chaldean church is an Eastern-rite denomination that recognizes the authority of the pope and is aligned with Rome."

Arab Charter on Human Rights

This is just the fourth and fifth paragraphs, but you can already get the trend. Great to know that the UN is admitting that Zionism is a criminal activity!

With stupidity like this, the UN is almost a criminal organization.

University of Minnesota Human Rights Library: "Believing in the unity of the Arab nation, which struggles for its freedom and defends the right of nations to self-determination, to the preservation of their wealth and to development; believing in the sovereignty of the law and its contribution to the protection of universal and interrelated human rights and convinced that the human person's enjoyment of freedom, justice and equality of opportunity is a fundamental measure of the value of any society,

Rejecting all forms of racism and Zionism, which constitute a violation of human rights and a threat to international peace and security, recognizing the close link that exists between human rights and international peace and security,"

"If Only There Was an Organization Sworn to Defend That Free Speech"

HAHAHAHAHA!

They need to unchain the Marines so that they can show how hippies should be treated.

(Who would have thought that Jon Stewart's hippy loving show would come up with something like this? I am in shock! )

IMAO: "If Only There Was an Organization Sworn to Defend That Free Speech"

Hayden says battle brewing inside al-Qaida

It would be nice to see the terrorist start killing each other. This is not a democratic institution, because Islam does not promote equality. This will probably be similar to the succession wars after Mohammad, PBUH, died. Those lasted years and led to the Shia - Sunni schism that is still killing Muslims all over the world in modern times.

Hayden says battle brewing inside al-Qaida: "Hayden says battle brewing inside al-Qaida

Battles are brewing among Saudi and Egyptian al-Qaida leaders, creating a possible battle over who will succeed Osama bin Laden, CIA chief Michael Hayden said.

And frankly, Hayden said, we think there has been an awful lot of jockeying among possible successors. Hayden was interviewed by The Washington Times.

Hayden also said al-Qaida has regrouped in tribal areas of Pakistan and linked up with Pashtun extremists in the Afghanistan-Pakistan border region.

Because bin Laden is Saudi and a lot of al-Qaida's leadership is Egyptian, who becomes the next guy becomes quite a contentious matter, Hayden said. And there are fissures in al-Qaida because of this dominance of Egyptians inside the senior leadership, where you have a Saudi at the top. You can only imagine what then happens if he goes and then who comes in."

Ricin: An Unlikely Weapon of Mass Destruction | Stratfor

Excellent work.

Ricin: An Unlikely Weapon of Mass Destruction | Stratfor: "Infectious diseases are even harder to culture and distribute in a mass attack. With many diseases, their slow progress makes them better incapacitants and disruptors than true weapons of mass destruction. To a great degree this is why, despite some tests by various nonstate militant groups, few biological attacks have been attempted.

In addition, the money, resources and effort that go into a biological program can be more cost-effectively spent on training and supplying fighters with conventional weapons. The train bombings in Madrid and London, as compared with the attempted sarin attack by the Aum Shinrikyo cult in Tokyo, clearly demonstrate that conventional explosives have been more effective than homemade biological or chemical agents.

This is not to say that militants will stop trying to develop and experiment with biological agents. From a purely psychological perspective, these agents can have a significant impact, not to mention they can be quite effective as a tool of assassination and disruption. But to deploy a true biological weapon of mass destruction takes the resources of a state. Militant groups, given their limited resources and personnel, and often their space and time constraints, are more likely to focus on improving upon the tactics they already know."

Iran: 'Bounty' put on heads of three top Israeli officials

Wow! Could you imagine a Student group any place in the West calling for death of people and the government allowing it? Only in Islamic countries can this happen, because Islam is more about death than life. In Islam you live so that you can die a martyrs death. In Christianity, you live so that you will make Christ proud to have you join him in Peace.

Notice the picture that goes with this article. See the targets on the heads of the people? NONE of the captions I have seen in ANY news service have mentioned them. Why not? Would pointing them out make this picture less offensive?

Notice the quote on the picture. "Israel must be wiped off the map." Isn't that the same quote that the Left said was a mistranslation when the governments of Israel and the US translated that way? I wonder if those same useful fools will now call the Iranians Islamophobes who don't understand the Persian or Arabic languages? I want to hear them say it or apologize for their misunderstanding!

Why do fools seem to think that some people want war with Islam, when it is always Islamic groups that are attacking, assassinating, people?

AKI - Adnkronos international Iran: 'Bounty' put on heads of three top Israeli officials: "Iran's Students for Justice Movement has gathered a million dollars to be awarded to whoever manages to kill three top Israeli figures including defence minister, Ehud Barak, hardline journalist Forouz Rajaifar announced.

The hardline student group is offering a 400,000 dollar bounty for the slaying of Barak, 300,000 dollars to kill Mossad spy agency chief Meir Dagan, and the same sum for the assassination of military intelligence chief Amos Yadlin.

“Whoever kills these three criminals will receive these sums, and if acts of martyrdom are involved, the money will be paid to their families, Rajaifar told Iranian state news agency IRNA."

The Costs of Crime::By Thomas Sowell

Insightful. I wonder what the cost of sterilizing all the rapists would be? Or the cost of paying all the vicitims?

Townhall.com::The Costs of Crime::By Thomas Sowell: "it is hardly surprising that a recent New York Times editorial has returned to a familiar theme among those on the left, on both sides of the Atlantic, with its lament that 'incarceration rates have continued to rise while crime rates have fallen.'

Back in 1997, New York Times writer Fox Butterfield expressed the same lament under the headline, 'Crime Keeps on Falling, But Prisons Keep on Filling.' Then, as now, liberals seemed to find it puzzling that crime rates go down when more criminals are put behind bars."

Paramilitary: Meet the Muster

Interesting.

Paramilitary: Meet the Muster: "The IRR callup spotlights the problem that wars have become less manpower intensive over the last sixty years. World War II saw 16.1 million Americans serving (11.6 percent of the population.) Six million of those troops were volunteers, the rest were drafted (and another 6.4 million were drafted, but rejected, for physical, mental or other reasons.) During the 1950-53 Korean war, 5.7 million served (27 percent were draftees), while during the Vietnam war (1965-73), 8.7 million served (20 percent were draftees.) You can see where this is going. With the relatively large number of Americans willing to volunteer for military service, and wars requiring fewer troops, there's no need for draftees. But when there's an emergency, and a call for reviving the draft, a look at the IRR shows that there are plenty of trained and experienced former military personnel already available, if you can only find them. The annual muster is headed for becoming another aspect of American military life."

Woman earns Silver Star in Afghan war

Woman earns Silver Star in Afghan war - Yahoo! News: "A 19-year-old medic from Texas will become the first woman in Afghanistan and only the second female soldier since World War II to receive the Silver Star, the nation's third-highest medal for valor.

Army Spc. Monica Lin Brown saved the lives of fellow soldiers after a roadside bomb tore through a convoy of Humvees in the eastern Paktia province in April 2007, the military said.

After the explosion, which wounded five soldiers in her unit, Brown ran through insurgent gunfire and used her body to shield wounded comrades as mortars fell less than 100 yards away, the military said."
