Prince Harry Withdrawn From Afghanistan - New York Times

A Royal finally gets a chance to do something real and the Media ruins it.

Hip Hip Hurray!

Welcome home Your Highness.

Prince Harry Withdrawn From Afghanistan - New York Times: "Prince Harry Withdrawn From Afghanistan

LONDON — The Defense Ministry announced Friday that Prince Harry, the third in line to the British throne, would have to come home from Afghanistan because it was too risky for him to stay there.

The prince, 23, has been in Helmand Province with the British Army since December with the knowledge of most of the British news media, who agreed to keep the news secret for security reasons. Details of his deployment became widely known only when they were reported by the Drudge Report on Thursday and the British media decided that the agreement was off.

The Defense Ministry said in a statement that although Prince Harry had been expected to remain in Afghanistan for a few more weeks with his unit from the Household Cavalry Regiment Battlegroup, “the situation has now clearly changed.” As a result, the chief of the defense staff, Air Chief Marshal Sir Jock Stirrup, decided “to withdraw Prince Harry from Afghanistan immediately,” the ministry said."

Turkey withdraws troops from Iraq

While the Left is heralding this as the perfect way to conduct military operations, in contrast to the "debacle" in Iraq for the US, the reality is slightly different. In reality, which the Left tends to avoid at any cost, this was a very limited operation to temporarily end the terrorist attacks from that region. There was no follow up to get the PKK to reform. There was no attempt to attempts to rebuild the region to help the locals so that they will turn in terrorists before they can kill.

Not that the Left cares about stopping the killers early. They only care about victims, and if the killers are stopped before killing, then the killers become the victims, not the people who would have died. This twisted logic is what drives me crazy about the Left.

FT.com / In depth - Turkey withdraws troops from Iraq: "Turkey has ended its military incursion into northern Iraq and its troops have returned to base, the military high command said on Friday.

The announcement brings to an end a ferocious eight-day assault inside Iraq by Turkish troops on the PKK, a Kurdish separatist group that has launched frequent attacks on Turkish targets from its bases in the mountains of northern Iraq.

“The goals of the operation have been reached and the units returned to their bases on the morning of February 29,” the general staff said in a statement on its web site."

Ricin in LV

Lucianne.com News Forum: "A toxic biological agent was found in a suite on Valley View Boulevard near Flamingo Road on Thursday afternoon, but Las Vegas police said they were not searching for a suspect and nobody was harmed by the substance. Ricin, a substance used for cancer research that has 'no other medical use,' was discovered about 3 p.m. by a man who was cleaning out a suite at the Extended Stay America at 4270 S. Valley View Blvd (Snip) The man, who told police the toxic agent did not belong to him, took the powdery substance to the manager's office..."

# Prince Harry has fired at the Taliban
# Prince provided air support for UK troops
# Your view: Should Prince Harry be fighting on the front line?

Chief of the General Staff Sir Richard Dannatt, who is head of the British Army, said that the Prince's conduct on operations had been 'exemplary' and that he is a 'credit to the nation'.

The deployment had been cloaked in secrecy under a news blackout deal agreed across the UK media to prevent details reaching the Taliban and endangering Harry and his comrades."

Turkey in radical revision of Islamic texts

Wow! Turkey is going to direct battle with the Fundamentalists! This could be very interesting to watch.

Muslims Against Sharia Blog: "Commentators say the very theology of Islam is being reinterpreted in order to effect a radical renewal of the religion.

Its supporters say the spirit of logic and reason inherent in Islam at its foundation 1,400 years ago are being rediscovered. Some believe it could represent the beginning of a reformation in the religion.

Turkish officials have been reticent about the revision of the Hadith until now, aware of the controversy it is likely to cause among traditionalist Muslims, but they have spoken to the BBC about the project, and their ambitious aims for it.

The forensic examination of the Hadiths has taken place in Ankara University's School of Theology.

An adviser to the project, Felix Koerner, says some of the sayings - also known individually as 'hadiths' - can be shown to have been invented hundreds of years after the Prophet Muhammad died, to serve the purposes of contemporary society."

Al Dura - What Really Happened

I know that the Media will bury the truth because it does not match their Truth. The Left always has to ignore truth when it contradicts the Truth of the Media world. As part of the Truth, the Left is firmly commited to the Fact that the 'Palestinians' are poor refugees who are being slaughtered by the Israelis and are therefore they are innocent of any atrocities that it seems they might commit. Like killing a kid just to be able to blame their enemies.

Dutch institute conducting biological warfare research

Wow! The Media is burying this and the Left will be going nuts. Sounds like the Euros are starting to realize the threat exists. At least in the rational parts of society.

Dutch institute conducting biological warfare research - Radio Netherlands Worldwide - English: "TNO's research into chemical warfare compounds continues until today. Answers are sought to questions such as 'Which substances might be used by opponents against the Dutch military or population, and which protection can be given against those?' TNO itself is also producing chemical warfare compounds, like nerve gases, although that involves very small quantities (a few millilitres per experiment - that's about a teaspoonful) and it's done in high-security labs. TNO spokesperson Maarten Lörtzer says:

'In principle we know how it works, yet new varieties can be thought up all the time. Based on an analysis of threats we continue to scan the possibilities of such new variants. New means of protection developed by manufacturers also have to be tested, such as gas masks, suits, tents. And we are trying to find ever more sensitive detectors, allowing us to raise the alarm at the earliest.'"

Gazans stage mass protest against Israeli blockade

Amazing! Reuters has a BALANCED story? If the Leftists at Reuters admit to this much reality, I wonder how many more Israelis were wounded and/or died. It seems possible that the terrorists might have killed many more, since dead or injured Israelis almost never make the news.

Gazans stage mass protest against Israeli blockade - Yahoo! News: "Israel had put troops on alert along the frontier and threatened to open fire if protesters tried to surge across the border. Organizers had forecast 40,000 to 50,000 participants but only about 4,500 people turned out in inclement weather.

Although the event, promoted by Hamas Islamists and allied activists, was peaceful, militants in the Gaza Strip fired rockets at southern Israel while the protest was under way, wounding a child.

After the human chain broke up, Palestinian youngsters hurled rocks at Israeli soldiers at Gaza's Erez border crossing. The Israeli army said it detained 50 stone-throwers."

ElBaradei's Real Agenda

Wonderful! Someone in the Media is finally willing to confront the worthless UN's IAEA. Not that it is less worthless than the other parts of the UN, but it does rank near the bottom of the worthless pile.

ElBaradei's Real Agenda - WSJ.com: "The IAEA director seems intent on undercutting Security Council diplomacy. Just weeks after President George Bush toured the Middle East to build Arab support for pressure on Tehran, Mr. ElBaradei appeared on Egyptian television on Feb. 5 to urge Arabs in the opposite direction, insisting Iran was cooperating and should not be pressured. And as he grows more and more isolated from Western powers intent on disarming Iran, Mr. ElBaradei has found champions in the developing and Arab world. They cheer his self-imposed mission -- to hamstring U.S. efforts to constrain Iran's program, whether or not the regime is violating its non-proliferation obligations or pursuing nuclear weapons.

In working to undermine sanctions, however, Mr. ElBaradei demeans the purpose of his agency and undercuts its non-proliferation mission. He also makes military action all the more likely."

American Professor, Ousted From DePaul University, Declares Support for Hezbollah in Lebanon

If this moron loves the terrorists so much let him stay! Revoke his passport. Now.

FOXNews.com - American Professor, Ousted From DePaul University, Declares Support for Hezbollah in Lebanon - Local News | News Articles | National News | US News: "An ousted American political science professor who believes some Jews have exploited the legacy of the Holocaust recently expressed his support for the terrorist organization Hezbollah.

Norman Finkelstein, who resigned from DePaul University last fall amid criticism of his opinions on the Holocaust, told Lebanese television that his view of Hezbollah is 'rarely heard' in the United States.

'I have no problem saying that I do want to express solidarity with them, and I'm not going to be a coward and a hypocrite about it,' Finkelstein told Future TV. 'I don't care about Hezbollah as a political organization. I don't know much about their politics and anyhow, it's irrelevant.'"

Muslims want unis to fit prayer time

Religious freedoms get tossed out the windows once the Muslims get in town. Not that the Left, that bastion of Freedom, cares.

Muslims want unis to fit prayer time: "MUSLIM university students want lectures to be rescheduled to fit in with prayer timetables and separate male and female eating and recreational areas established on Australian campuses.

International Muslim students, predominantly from Saudi Arabia, have asked universities in Melbourne to change class times so they can attend congregational prayers. They also want a female-only area for Muslim students to eat and relax.

But at least one institution has rejected their demands, arguing that the university is secular and it does not want to set a precedent for requests granted in the name of religious beliefs."

Wolf Howling: The Barbary Wars, Islam in American History & Churchill on Wahhabism

Wolf seems to have found a bunch of great articles lately, not that he misses much normally.

Wolf Howling: The Barbary Wars, Islam in American History & Churchill on Wahhabism: "One historical perspective of Islam concerns the very first war America fought after its Independence from Britain. It was a 32 year war against the Muslim Barbary pirates who believed their religion justified attacks on the shipping of non-believers and enslaving all Christians they could take prisoner. A second perspective that we get is through the eyes of Winston Churchill, who wrote of his observations of Islam in the Sudan and Afghanistan, and warned against the Wahhabi Islam of the Sauds. Had we but listened to Churchill, our world would be very different today.

____________________________________________________________

There are a couple of fascinating posts that I have stumbled across today. The first, with a hat tip to Red Alerts, is a very good article on the history of Islam in our nation and the first war that our nation ever fought against the Muslm pirates of the Barbary Coast. This from Wallbuilders:"

Wolf Howling: Fjordman's Essay on the Muslim Brotherhood

Excellent!

Wolf Howling: Fjordman's Essay on the Muslim Brotherhood: "The Muslim Brotherhood is an organization that has combined with Wahhabi / Salafi teachings and Saudi petrodollars to become the vanguard of radical Islam in the West. The Brotherhood's presence in the West is extensive, with two of of its offshoots being the highly influential Muslim Council of Britain (MCB) and the Muslim American Society (MAS). Just recently in the US, a person with ties to the Muslim Brotherhood, Hesham Islam, was exposed and has been forced to resign from his very sensitive position as an advisor in the Pentagon. This from Fjordman:"
