Security concerns a major issue for Latin America

The Communists are destabilizing the region and demanding that someone do something about it? This sounds backwards. It is time to finish off those Marxist scum once and for all.

If things are so great in Communist countries, why do they always want to blame their lack of interaction with other countries on their surplus of poverty? And then they invade those other countries! Why do they have to make up provocations like this? To invade and destabilize others?

http://www.miamiherald.com/americas_conference/story/712044.html

Violent crime and lack of security mechanisms have emerged as major concerns in Latin America and the Caribbean, regional leaders at the Americas Conference said Friday.

''Violent crimes going from kidnappings to executions have become front-page news in all the papers and broadcasts in the region,'' said Samuel Lewis Navarro, Panama's vice president and minister of foreign affairs. ``Today, in Panama, every poll made shows that security is among the first causes of concern of the population.''

At the session, ''Security in Latin America and the Caribbean,'' panelists argued that a strong police force is paramount for development, and that larger countries need to help smaller ones in their efforts to battle violent crime and criminal networks.

Haiti came up as an example of a country rife with insecurity, but that other nations suffered from more violent crime.

''Is Haiti the next Afghanistan?,'' asked Gerardo Le Chevallier, a United Nations official in Haiti on the panel. ``I believe that it is a little exaggerated -- Haiti is one of the safer countries in the Caribbean, as far as violent deaths and kidnapping.''

One panelist said organized crime can best be tackled when more developed countries pitch in to help smaller ones.

''It's not only an act of solidarity,'' said Le Chevallier, director of political affairs and planning in the United Nations, ``but an act of moral responsibility.''

The differences between terrorist gangs and terrorist gangs

Counter-Terrorism: That Old Gang Of Mine: "Now that the suicide bomber terrorists in Iraq have been crushed (but not entirely eliminated), the army and police are able to go after the lifeblood of terrorism; money. While the terrorism gets started by anger at conditions that the terrorists feel are intolerable, the violence is fueled by cash, as well as anger. And cash requires thieving.

Islamic terrorists pay for things by using many of the same techniques employed by organized crime. That, however, has proved to be a major weakness, and is being exploited to hasten the demise of the latest wave of Islamic terrorism. For organized crime, terrorism is just another tool. For example, terrorism is regularly practiced by organized criminal groups. That's how the famous ones, like the mafia, or the Russian or Colombian gangs, make money and maintain discipline. What separates "terrorist organizations" from criminal gangs is ideology and goals. Organized crime groups just want to make money. Islamic terrorists, however, have other goals. In this case, imposing Islam on the entire world. In Iraq, the Sunni Arab terrorists wanted to regain control of the government. In Afghanistan, the Taliban have the same goal.

Making money using criminal methods is a means to an end for them, not an end in itself. Keep in mind that terrorist acts are a constant, and most of these actions are carried out by criminals in pursuit of a payday. Political or religious terrorists are using similar terrorism to either attract attention, as a fund raising tool, or a weapon to win concessions from governments.

Historically, it's quite common for terrorist organization, be they motivated by political or religious goals, to gradually turn into largely criminal gangs. That's where the mafia came from. Once a resistance organization (against foreign rulers in Italy), it evolved into a purely criminal outfit, and migrated to the United States, along with millions of law-abiding Italians. The IRA (Irish Republican Army) is of more recent vintage (late 19th century originally, but revived in the 1970s) that gradually turned into a group of criminal gangs that mainly paid lip service to the IRAs political goals (of a united Ireland). Back and gathering my thoughts

I have been swamped and travelling a lot, so here is my attempt to get caught up on some of what I have missed. Normally, I just click on an article and post it, but I want to get a lot of stuff in and try something new. I am even looking at transfering this blog to its own site. Anyone want to help?

http://www.washtimes.com/news/2008/oct/06/the-roots-of-the-mortgage-scandal/
How did the United States get to the stage where politicians decided it was necessary to scare the taxpayers into forking over $700 billion to purchase assets the private sector wouldn't touch? So far neither Democrats nor Republicans have shown interest in examining a major factor in the mortgage lending mess - federal government policies which, taken together with pressure from left-wing activist groups, eroded credit requirements to make mortgages available to people who could not possibly pay them back, including some who were illegally in the United States.

"I don't understand why that would not be a viable option," he said.

Urbina is scheduled to hold a hearing Tuesday that will examine whether he has the power to order the release of at least five of the Uighurs. Their attorneys have filed court papers asking Urbina to also consider releasing 12 other Uighurs who remain in custody.

''Shariat'' Regulation in Malakand Division from Ramazan 27

The Taliban get yet more legal recognition in Pakistan. Soon, it will look just like Afghanistan did but with nukes. Does that make you worried?

''Shariat'' Regulation in Malakand Division from Ramazan 27 - GEO.tv: "Awami National Party (ANP) central secretary information, Zahid Khan has said that the ‘Nifaz-e-Adal Shariat’ Regulation’s amendment draft would be enforced in Malakand Division on Ramazan 27.

Terrorist Radicalization Poses a Threat to Latin America

With Chavez and his Iranian friends trying to create chaos in the world, will it take long for the lid to blow off the simmering pot in Central America?

We need to send in stabilizing forces and jobs! If the people have jobs and families, they are much less likely to fight and risk their lives.

Terrorist Radicalization Poses a Threat to Latin America: "Terrorist Radicalization Poses a Threat to Latin America

By Jerry Brewer

Mexico's use of 20,000 soldiers in 11 Mexican states against mega-cartels of murderous organized criminals is the prevailing demonstrative evidence of the vast terrorist radicalization process. Although narcotraffickers do not start out as terrorist groups, they evolve into the process as their mutual relationships and mission-based agendas are manipulated by a mentor's ideology. It is an easy choice, especially as the traffickers are vehemently targeted by police, military, and other government officials.

The threat and reality of a dedicated and persistent interdiction by enforcement officials transcends their psychotic greed and logic. This, to a point where one-upmanship becomes the misaligned itinerary to a mindset of psychological and personal vendetta by the leaders of the drug cartels. The massive rampage and death toll in Mexico clearly labels these organized criminals narcoterrorists.

The world threat and the struggle against radical Islam are continuing to foster a global mobilization of sorts by proactive democracies to prevent terrorism within their homelands. However, the radicalization of individuals by decree of the jihadist terrorist hierarchy must now be a primary focus, as lone wolf terrorists, homegrown cells and other radical insurgents are being urged"

Atomic Bomb Plans Still For Sale

Just ask the Peace Groups, it is fine for Third World barbarians to have nukes as long as the US does not. This network is partly compromised and still vary dangerous. Maybe it is time to kill them all.

NBC Weapons: Atomic Bomb Plans Still For Sale: "The UN IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency) has continued investigating Pakistani nuclear weapons scientist A Q Khan's illegal nuclear weapons technology smuggling organization. IAEA believes that Khan's group not only had a wider reach than previously thought, but is still in business.

Khan himself recently admitted that the Pakistani Army knew he was selling nuclear weapons secrets to Iran, Iraq and North Korea. Previously, he had insisted that he, and his small group of accomplices, had done it all themselves."

Arab Terrorist Stabs Boy in Yitzhar, Residents Attack Village

It is really hard to blame the Israelis for attacking the neighboring village that is allowing the terrorists to hide and plot attacks.

Why do Muslims seem to enjoy killing so much? Should I read the Koran to you?

Arab Terrorist Stabs Boy in Yitzhar, Residents Attack Village - Defense/Middle East - Israel News - Arutz Sheva: "An Arab terrorist stabbed a nine-year-old Jewish boy at the Shalhevet neighborhood in Yitzhar in Samaria on the Sabbath, torched an empty house and tried to set fire to a second building. The terrorist threw the boy four meters down off of an outdoor porch, into an area filled with construction material - yet he landed on the only bush in the area. He was treated in a nearby hospital and was said to be in light condition.
Dozens of residents of Yitzhar retaliated and attacked the adjacent Arab village of Asira al-Kabaliya, where it is suspected the terrorist resides. Villagers claimed that the Jews rioted in the village, destroyed houses, overturned vehicles and shot at least two Arabs.

Arabs threw rocks and stones at the Jews until IDF soldiers arrived, broke up the riots and slapped a curfew on the village. The troops arrested one suspect in the stabbing.

A relatively unknown terrorist group calling itself Ahrar Al-Jalil (Freedom for the Galilee) Brigades claimed responsibility for the arson and attack on the boy. The same group claimed it was behind two bulldozer and backhoe attacks in Jerusalem earlier this year in which three people were killed and several were wounded."

At 9-11 Anniversary Tribute... Muslim Cleric Promises Next Massive Attack Will Be in Great Britain

I understand the principle of free speech very well, but why is this guy allowed to preach about murder? If he wants to preach about how Islam is full of hate, why not send him to a country that agrees with him? The Saudis or Syrians might enjoy this preacher, but in England, hate speech is still forbidden. Or I thought it was.

At 9-11 Anniversary Tribute... Muslim Cleric Promises Next Massive Attack Will Be in Great Britain

A group of radical Muslims held a 9-11 Anniversary 'tribute' in London this week.
They promised that the next massive attack would be in Great Britain.
The 'tribute' was covered by the local media.

Radical Islamist Omar Bakri Mohammed, who rejoiced over the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, promised this week that the next 9-11 will be in Great Britain."

Al-Qaeda Targets Lethal Disease Research Facility on NY Island

Scary. Despite the outcry from the Left and the Muslims that the CIA has held onto this terrorist for years, and not admitted it or paid out the bounty on her head, it is great to find her. Just think of all the stuff she must know about who helped her hide for all these years. Who trained her? Who takes care of her? We have a lot to learn.

Pajamas Media » Al-Qaeda Targets Lethal Disease Research Facility on NY Island: "Until her arrest in Afghanistan this summer, Aafia Siddiqui was the FBI’s most wanted woman in the world. Now the U.S.-educated, Pakistani mother of three is being held in New York’s Metropolitan Detention Center facing attempted murder charges.

Aafia Siddiqui holds biology and neuroscience degrees from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.) and Brandeis University. In 2003, she vanished from Pakistan and reappeared on July 17, 2008, outside the governor’s compound in Ghazni, Afghanistan. According to the FBI indictment against her, Siddiqui was carrying “various documents, various chemicals, and a computer thumb drive.”

Aafia Siddiqui is believed to be an al-Qaeda operative. Among the documents in her possession were handwritten notes referring to a “mass-casualty attack” listing locations commonly known to be targets: Wall Street, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Statue of Liberty, and the Empire State Building. But one target, Plum Island, remains virtually unknown to the American public. If Siddiqui really is an al-Qaeda operative, the consideration that this government facility (officially known as the Plum Island Animal Disease Research Center) is a target is unnerving.

Located approximately eight miles off the coast of Connecticut, the 840-acre research facility is home to the most virulent zoonotic diseases in the world. The lethal diseases stored and studied on Plum Island are transmitted to humans by animals. The only U.S. strains of foot-and-mouth disease (eradicated from American soil in 1929) are secured in freezers on Plum Island, as are strains of polio, hog cholera, and African Swine Fever. None of the animals on the island ever leave; those that come uninvited, like deer that sometimes swim there from the mainland, are shot."

How To Make Palestine Go Away

I notice that the Media does not cover the Gazan Civil War with the same verve that they used to cover the "Iraqi Civil War" the the AQ piggies kept trying to incite, with Media assistance. Meanwhile, More Gazan terrorists are killed by other Gazan terrorists than Israelis, so there is nothing worth reporting. Media bias? What Media bias?

It is great to see that Hamas is failing no that they have the power. It is not so great to see that AQ is helping with the fighting. Who do you root for when the fighting is between terrorist thugs?

Israel: How To Make Palestine Go Away: "Israel has refused to free a 1,500, or even a thousand, Palestinians from jail, in return for the release of an Israeli soldier held (for two years) by Hamas. Israel has offered to release 450 Palestinians (and mostly low level offenders, not the killers and terrorist leaders Hamas wants). Thus negotiations with Hamas are deadlocked. Meanwhile, the Israelis have been warning their citizens to beware visiting nations with large Moslem populations, because Hezbollah has begun a large scale effort to kill or kidnap Israelis overseas, this being the easiest way to strike at Israel (at least according to Hezbollah thinking.)

Hamas is in a downward spiral. Opinion polls show that Hamas would receive only 29 percent of the vote if elections were held today, versus 43 percent for Fatah. The problem is that the economic problems in Gaza (largely the result of Hamas insisting that its main goal is the destruction of Israel) have changed attitudes towards Hamas (but not towards Israel, which most Palestinians still want destroyed, or at least hurt in a big way.) The hatred of Israel by Palestinians appears to be implacable, and unlikely to change any time soon. There is growing armed opposition to Hamas in Gaza, largely from al Qaeda affiliated groups. But this opposition is not strong enough to really threaten Hamas control. The Hamas reaction solution to its problems has been to build a police state in Gaza. This is not popular, but Hamas has sufficient popular support (at least a third of the 1.5 million population) to make this work. Egypt is concerned that Hamas will provide a base for Islamic terrorists, and their attacks into Egypt. A solution being talked up in Egypt is the takeover and annexation of Gaza. Israel would have to agree to this, and is apparently giving serious consideration to the idea. That has resurrected the old proposal that the West Bank be given back to Jordan (which used to control it, but give up its claims after the Palestinians decided they were a separate people four decades ago). Jordan already has many Palestinians, who comprise over half their population. Jordan has never been keen on acquiring more Palestinian citizens (the royal family that rules Jordan is Bedouin, and relies on the Bedouin minority to stay in power.)

Meanwhile, Israel has made it very difficult for Palestinians to travel between the West Bank and Gaza. Israeli counter-terror operations in the West Bank are as active as ever, keeping the terrorists neutralized (as they have been for several years.)

Israel has supplied Fatah with several thousand assault rifles and pistols, as well as vehicles (armored and unarmored.) Israel has also released about a thousand West Bank residents from jail. Most of these were being held for low level offenses, but the gesture has made Fatah more popular. "

Afghanistan: Taliban accused of using civilians to provoke US attacks

AKI - Adnkronos international Afghanistan: Taliban accused of using civilians to provoke US attacks: "The Taliban are trying to induce American forces to kill civilians, including women and children, in Afghanistan, a senior US government official said on Thursday.

James Glassman, the US State Department's under secretary for public diplomacy, was speaking in response to the controversial air strike carried out by American forces that allegedly killed at least 90 civilians in western Afghanistan in August.

'The problem of civilian casualties is a big one,' he said in a television interview broadcast on the BBC."

The Case of Belal Khazaal and "Essential Provisions in the Rules of Jihad"

I am glad to see that some juries and judges are able to fight the legal jihadis as well as the military tends to do.

Counterterrorism Blog: The Case of Belal Khazaal and "Essential Provisions in the Rules of Jihad": "The Case of Belal Khazaal and "Essential Provisions in the Rules of Jihad"
By Evan Kohlmann

Yesterday, at the Supreme Court of New South Wales (NSW) in Sydney, Australia, former Qantas Airlines baggage handler Belal Khazaal was convicted by a jury of "knowingly making a document connected with assistance in a terrorist act" in violation of S101.5 of the Australian Commonwealth Criminal Code. The charges were filed in relation to a book published by Khazaal under the alias "Abu Mohammed al-Tawhidi" titled "Essential Provisions in the Rules of Jihad." The book, dated September 2003, was written in Arabic and included large sections directly appropriated from the raw writings of known terrorist leaders -- such as Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri's book "Knights Under the Prophet's Banner." According to an introduction to the book signed by "Abu Mohammed al-Tawhidi" (a.k.a. Khazaal):

"This is but a short document I hastily prepared in response to a request from brothers working to support this religion. I was requested to prepare it, in this fashion, to serve as a reference to all brothers or small cells desiring to support this religion. With Allah’s help I set on its compilation and I completed it in few days. I am however convinced that had I sufficient time and had I been settled in my residence I would have produced a better job than this work which has been conceived in haste. However, better 'haste' than never... I seek the Almighty’s reward and I seek martyrdom for his sake. I do so running towards it not away from it. I beseech my brothers who read this message to pray that I may attain martyrdom."

Khazaal's 102-page "master guide" to the "essential provisions in the rules of jihad" included both theoretical and ideological material--as well as detailed, explicit instructions on how best to exterminate "Americans and Jews." The book includes an entire step-by-step manual on conducting assassinations (originally written by Saudi Al-Qaida commander Abu Jandal al-Azdi), as well as directions on "remote control detonation devices", "letters and letter bombs", "booby trapping a car", "detonating a car from a distance", "sniping", "smothering", "hitting with a hammer", and "martyrdom operations." Among other things, the book emphasizes to readers that "small groups can cause havoc among Americans": "Pursuing Americans and Jews is not an impossible task. Killing them with a single shot, a stab or a pack of a popular mix or with an iron rod is not a difficult deed. Neither is burning their properties with a Molotov bottle. Small groups with small available means can cause horror to American and Jew alike."

One of the final sections of Khazaal's book is titled, "Recommendations to the Mujahideen: Examples of Jihad During Weaker Times to Emulate." According to this section:

"The impressive success of the conquest of New York is but a reminder that today’s mujahideen are no less than their forefathers. They are young, very professional men who can fly and maneuver planes. They are so disciplined to follow instructions to the letter and are ready to sacrifice themselves to regain the dignity and glory of the Muslim nation. Friend and foe alike acknowledge that today Mujahideen are technologically-savvy and employ sophisticated communication technology such as satellite telephones and use the Internet through a coded manner including steganography and other forms of technology... Of the unique examples that attracted my attention in the last two decades are legends that need no introduction. But it is the quality of men that needs emphasis. The famous 'Engineer' Yahya Ayyash and another unknown and unrecognized man yet he is no less heroic, Ramzi Yousef... His original plan was to destroy the entire [World Trade Center] inflicting maximum damage and casualties in the vicinity of a quarter of a million as punishment for America‘s frequent bloody interventions in Islamic affairs... I can only imagine his glee in his captivity (may Allah break his chains) as he was listening to the news of the Conquest of New York and the success his comrades were able to carry out what he started."

Khazaal's conviction in what has been a landmark legal case in Australia represents a major victory for the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and the Office of the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions (CDPP). It should also be taken as a stern warning to those--not just in Australia, but around the world--who believe that they can continue to use the Internet to incite the murder of innocent civilians in terrorist acts without facing serious consequences for their own actions. "

Homeland Security goes on special alert

The terrorists keep trying, and we keep finding them. The biggest problem then is that the US Legal System does not really handle arrests before the crime is committed. The judges all want to see a crime committed so that they know the person was truly plotting and that the cops aren't just trying to frame people.

Homeland Security goes on special alert: "As the seventh anniversary of the 9/11 attacks nears, Homeland Security agents are on heightened alert for young Turkish Muslims who may be trying to enter the U.S. as part of an al-Qaida terrorist operation, WND has learned from counterterrorism officials and internal agency documents.

Meanwhile, agents are monitoring more than 20,000 suspected homegrown terrorists on the FBI's watchlist to prevent them from boarding commercial aircraft.

All of the individuals are American citizens or permanent legal residents 'who have some relationship with terrorist activity,' said Leonard Boyle, who heads the FBI's terrorism screening center in McLean, Va.

Homeland Security has programmed a computer system that screens inbound passengers for signs of terrorist activity to flag Turkish and other individuals whose passports show travel to Pakistan.

U.S. intelligence officials say jihadist websites indicate that hundreds of Turks have recently trained in al-Qaida camps in Pakistan, and may have sworn to carry out suicide operations against the West."

Terror groups developing 'dirty bomb', say security chiefs

People like to tell me that the Pakistanis and the other Muslims would never allow a terrorist to get their bloody hands on a nuke. I fear otherwise. Pakistan is a very dangerous place. It is time to get the nukes out of there and return them when the crisis is over.

Terror groups developing 'dirty bomb', say security chiefs - Telegraph: "At least one plot has been uncovered involving Pakistani-based terrorists planning to use nuclear material against a major European target.

Osama bin Laden's al-Qa'eda terror group, whose terrorist infrastructure is based in the province of Waziristan in northwest Pakistan, is known to be trying to acquire nuclear technology to use in terror attacks against the West.

Other militant Islamist groups in Pakistan, such as the newly formed Pakistani Taliban, have also shown an interest in developing weapons with a nuclear capability, according to Western security officials.

Security chiefs fear the mounting political instability in Pakistan will make it easier for militant Islamist groups to develop a primitive nuclear device.

Pakistan is the world's only Muslim country with a nuclear weapons arsenal, which was developed during the 1990s by the rogue Pakistani nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadir (AQ) Khan."

Pair seized boy to test security, police say

On the one hand, this is a good thing to know. On the other, these two need to be locked up for a few years for the stress they caused this kid's family. I am sure that the police will quickly ensure the safety of the rest of the schools in the area.

ReviewJournal.com - News - Pair seized boy to test security, police say: "Two North Las Vegas women were arrested Monday after police said they snatched a 6-year-old boy near Mackey Elementary School and kept him for more than two hours before handing him over to Clark County School District personnel.

The women's motive was to prove how lax security is at Mackey, North Las Vegas police said.

Police accused two friends, 40-year-old Laurinda Drake and 40-year-old Elaine Clermont, of participating in the student's kidnapping. Police said Drake picked up the boy near the school, at 2726 Englestad Street in North Las Vegas, and drove him to different locations, including a Wal-Mart store and Clermont's house.

Police said the boy was picked up at 9:30 a.m. and turned over at noon to officials at the district's administrative center, 5100 W. Sahara Ave."

Challenges still to prevent future acts of terrorism

While this article blames the reason for the majority of terrorist acts on Australians on the governments alliance with the US, I think that is a seriously big stretch of the truth. The truth is that the Muslims want to conquer the world for Islam and Allah. Not everyone seems to understand that, even when it is taught in every mosque and all over the internet in videos. The Left and their butt monkeys in the Media have conspired to keep the Proles ignorant until the bloody end so that the Conservative Right will be shown to fail.

Challenges still to prevent future acts of terrorism - Opinion - Editorial - General - The Canberra Times: "The threat within Australia now comes not so much from outsiders, but from home-grown elements. The usual motivating factor for home-grown terrorism is the perception of the host nation's participation in anti-Muslim activities.

Home-grown Islamist terrorism can take three basic forms: the small group of (usually four) friends influenced by a strong leader within the group; the larger group influenced by a charismatic preacher; and the group of temporary-resident tertiary or postgraduate professionals.

There is another category which is not necessarily Islamist. It involves a fixated, sometimes politically motivated, individual, who feels that he (rarely she) has to act violently against a prominent individual or group held responsible for his misfortunes or society's ills.

Often, potential terrorists are disaffected by their perceptions of discrimination and an inability to fit into the host society."

3 Accused U.K. Airline 'Liquid Bomb' Plotters Found Guilty

Well, it is only three of the eight, but it is not a bad start. May they burn in Hell as they wished their victims to do.

FOXNews.com - 3 Accused U.K. Airline 'Liquid Bomb' Plotters Found Guilty - International News | News of the World | Middle East News | Europe News: "A jury in the U.K. has found three men guilty of conspiracy to murder in the trans-Atlantic airline 'liquid bomb' plot.

Abdulla Ahmed Ali, Assad Sarwar and Tanvir Hussain were found guilty of plotting to kill 'persons unknown,' but not necessarily on planes.

The prosecutor told jurors during the trial that the men planned to attack United Airlines, American Airlines and Air Canada flights by smuggling liquid explosives onto jets and detonating them in-flight.

The jury failed to reach a verdict on four other defendants, while a fifth was cleared.

The unraveling of the plot in the summer of 2006 caused travel chaos. Restrictions on the amount of liquid passengers can carry in their hand luggage — imposed in the wake of the men's arrest — still remain in place.

Prosecutors claimed the blasts on the seven planes would have had devastating and deadly consequences on the scale of the Sept. 11 attacks.

The trial lasted five months, including a six week jury deliberation."

Terrorists thankful: More room to prep to kill Jews

This is just a snippet of the entire article describing the way the terrorists are using the previously Jewish owned areas of Gaza as training bases. Little kids are being turned into killing machines! It is past time to clean that area up.

Some things I note from the quote I saved here, the Pally kids claim they are being slaughtered, yet the facts report otherwise. Who is telling them this? The terrorists are firing rockets from roofs and schools to protect themselves from return. Why is this kid joining the terrorists who are using him as a human shield to cower behind? Are the majority of Palestinian kids this retarded?

The last thing I note is that the Gazans seem to read the Land for Peace deal differently from the West. In the West, the leaders, all Liberals, said that giving the terrorists more land would lead to Peace. To the terrorists, giving them land meant the Israelis have retreated and the terrorist's pals in the Media have won them a great victory that needs to be followed up on.

Land for Peace is a failure and the fools who advocated it all need a good butt-whooping.

Terrorists thankful: More room to prep to kill Jews: "Also this weekend, the Popular Resistance Committees terrorist organization showcased its own training in the evacuated Gaza Jewish town of Kfar Darom, which previously housed tree-lined Jewish streets replete with synagogues and Jewish seminaries.

Notable about the Committees training was that it included dozens of boys between the ages of nine and twelve, according to Committees leaders.

The Ynetnews Israeli website featured an interview with one young Committees recruit, an 11-year-old boy named Muhammad pictured holding an assault rifle.

'I am learning how to fight the Jews and kill Jewish children,' Muhammad told Ynetnews. 'I would rather die fighting the occupation than die at home from a missile, which is what happened to hundreds of Palestinian children.'

Committees terror group spokesman Muhammad Abdel-Al, also known as Abu Abir, told WND yesterday his group was not brainwashing children.

'We are not educating them on hatred. This is our strategy – to turn all the Palestinian people into weapons of resistance,' Abdel-Al said when questioned about his group's use of boys.

Israel evacuated Gush Katif's nearly 10,000 Jewish residents during the country's retreat under fire from the Gaza Strip in August 2005."

Hizballah’s Attack On The Lebanese Army: An Accident Or A Message?

Hizballah continues to get away with blatant attacks on everyone. If the Israelis had shot down a stray helicopter, they would be crucified in the Media. Since it was the terrorists shooting down this helicopter, that is not news worthy in the West. Even then, the Media has tried to shift the blame for this attack to other terrorists instead of the obvious ones. What is it about Hizballah that puts them above condemnation?

Counterterrorism Blog: Hizballah’s Attack On The Lebanese Army: An Accident Or A Message?: "Many in the media insinuated that the attack may have something to do with “Sunni Islamist militants from the north [read: Tripoli]”. The New York Times stated, “The Lebanese Army has come under attack several times this summer, including in a bombing this month that left nine soldiers and several civilians dead.” As with the NYT, the AFP, made sure the Sunni Islamists would be placed at the end of the article stating, "Nine Lebanese soldiers and five civilians were killed in a bombing at a bus stop in the northern port city of Tripoli earlier this month in an attack thought to have targeted the army. The army has also suffered other attacks since it fought a 15-week battle with militants of the Al-Qaeda inspired Fatah al-Islam in the Nahr el-Bared Palestinian refugee camp in northern Lebanon. In December the head of the army's military operations, General Francois el-Hajj, was killed in a massive bomb attack and just over a month later Major Wissam Eid, a top intelligence officer, was killed in similar circumstances.”

In fact, the last attack in the south by suspected Sunni Islamists was in June, 2007, killing 6 Spanish peacekeepers in a UNIFIL convoy. While Hizballah was the obvious cause of the latest attack, and even Hizballah militiamen said that they, “thought that there was an Israeli landing attempt (under way) and opened fire in the direction of the helicopter, hitting it.” The major press still insinuated that a group like Fatah al Islam could be behind the attack. When the attack was first reported, Hizballah initially denied it had anything to do with the attack, but this would later be disproved.

The Israeli daily Ha‘aretz reported that, “ Hezbollah downed a Lebanese Army helicopter on Thursday in what Israeli officials believe was a case of mistaken identity: The Shi'ite militiamen apparently thought they were firing at an Israeli chopper.” Even with the assumption that Hizballah made a mistake, Ha’aretz further disproves this theory when they said, “The helicopter was apparently flying at low altitude.” Just a cursory look at the paint schemes of a Lebanese UH-1 (usually painted a dark green with a very visible red, green and white Lebanese air force roundel) versus Israeli models (normally painted an olive green with a golden V, and recognizable roundel featuring the Star of David or a desert, green and brown camouflage), shows that the Hizballah militiamen operating the anti-aircraft gun(s) were either extremely incompetent or had some idea that they were targeting a Lebanese helicopter.

...
The Hizballah and allies responded with a mixture of whitewashing the incident, ignoring it, and even tried to shift blame onto the Israelis. According to the International Herald Tribune, “Sheik Abdul-Amir Kabalan, urged the army to investigate swiftly and suggested that a collaborator with Israel may have fired on the aircraft.” Kabalan is close with Harakat Amal, the other major Shia party in Lebanon, which in turn is allied to Hizballah. NOW Lebanon reported that according to “inside sources,” “Hezbollah fighters shot at the military helicopter because it crossed red lines that Hezbollah had warned the Defense Ministry and army command' not to cross” OTV, the Free Patriotic Movement’s mouthpiece (the FPM is Hizballah’s key Christian ally), did not even offer a story on their website regarding the incident. Instead OTV only featured the story as a small link reading, (Google Translation) “General Michel Aoun visited the Metropolitan of Mount Lebanon for the Roman Orthodox George Khader and discussed with him the latest developments in the death of First Lieutenant Samir Hanna result of the fall of the Lebanese Army helicopter. After exposure to a shooting in the south, the UN Security Council extended an additional year of peacekeeping forces in south Lebanon.” "

Happy Birthday to Gilat Shalit

Poor guy has been forgotten by his government and left to die. I almost hope he is dead and not in pain and being tortured.

I also pray that he will be released soon. No one deserves to be held by terrorists. F Olmert for not freeing him!

Something... and Half of Something: Where were you when you turned 22?: "Today is Gilad Shalit's 22nd birthday, his third birthday in the hands of Hamas terrorists."
