Peacekeeping: The Best of Intentions

Great article! Read the full thing.

Peacekeeping: The Best of Intentions: "NGOs (Non-Government Organizations) are increasingly under fire, often by the very people they are attempting to help. The disaster zones in many parts of the world are becoming impossible for even charity organizations to operate in. The level of violence continues to rise, and NGOs are more frequently victims rather than helpers. The NGOs want some protection, and they are not getting it.
The NGOs are upset that wealthy nations aren't doing more. The NGOs are in turn criticized for not noticing what happened when governments tried to intercede in places like Somalia, Afghanistan, Kosovo and Iraq. Nothing but abuse from the international community. The NGOs also ignore the fact that they were allowed to proliferate because many of those wealthy countries preferred to subsidize energetic volunteers (NGOs) to do the good works in these disaster zones, rather than send surly government employees. But many of the places where NGOs end up are increasingly seen as lost causes, with NGOs providing hospice care, until the old order finally dies, and something newer, and better arises out of the ashes. The NGOs don't like where this is going."

Koran has AIDS solution

Well, it is hard to say that this method would not work. I imagine that killing people for getting AIDS would definitely slow the spread!

AKI - Adnkronos international Indonesia: Anti-AIDS condom campaign splits Muslims : "“We strongly feel that condoms can't prevent people from getting AIDS. The pores of the latex are bigger than the virus itself,”he told Adnkronos International (AKI), adding that in his view the campaign was harmful and morally wrong. “AIDS prevention should start by implementing Islamic laws and punishing rule breakers, infidels and those who engage in pre-marital sex. 'In Islam we normally throw stones at them,” said al-Anshori. The MMI is a Muslim umbrella organisation whose member groups promotes sharia law in Indonesia."

Thousands in Sudan Call for British Teddy Bear Teacher's Execution

What a nice peaceful religion. I can see how naming a teddy Jesus could be a powerful provoking of evil. Oh, wrong religion. I wonder why the parents of the child with the same name are not being killed? Such an insult! This is almost as bad as shaving!

FOXNews.com - Thousands in Sudan Call for British Teddy Bear Teacher's Execution - International News | News of the World | Middle East News | Europe News: "Thousands of Sudanese, many armed with clubs and knives, rallied Friday in a central square and demanded the execution of a British teacher convicted of insulting Islam for allowing her students to name a teddy bear 'Muhammad.' The protesters streamed out of mosques after Friday sermons, as pickup trucks with loudspeakers blared messages against Gillian Gibbons, the teacher who was sentenced Thursday to 15 days in prison and deportation. She avoided the more serious punishment of 40 lashes."

Muslims threaten bombings if mannequins are not removed

I guess mannequins should be added to the list of things that offend Muslims.

The Hindu News Update Service: "Garment shop owners in northwest Pakistani city of Peshawar are removing mannequins from their displays or covering them up with clothes following threats from militants. A meeting of the shopkeepers' association of Karimpura in Peshawar, the capital of North West Frontier Province (NWFP), on wednesday discussed the threatening letters from militants. The association decided to either remove the mannequins from shops or cover them up fully with clothes. The meeting was informed that 10 militants visited Shaheen Bazaar, a market for women, and asked shopkeepers to remove mannequins. The militants claimed the mannequins promoted obscenity, 'Dawn' newspaper reported today. The letter sent by the militants warned the shop owners of dire consequences if they did not remove the mannequins."

Pivotal US-Iraqi Deal Would Leave US Troop Presence in Iraq for Decades

Good news! The US promises to keep backing the civilian government of Iraq while it grows and matures. I wonder what the US political system would have looked like if the French had maintained a light presence to help with the political safety of the Americans?

DEBKAfile - Pivotal US-Iraqi Deal Would Leave US Troop Presence in Iraq for Decades: "US President George W. Bush made sure of a wall-to-wall Arab audience in Washington on Monday, Nov. 26, when, over a secure video-link, he signed a deal in principle with Iraqi prime minister Nouri al-Maliki for an “enduring” US military presence in Iraq. Iraqi officials foresaw a long-term presence of 50,000 US troops - down from the current 170,000."

NATO's new Afghan battleground: YouTube - CNN.com

Amazing that the barbarians seem better equipped to fight the video propaganda war. NATO has always kept its operations secret and is going to have to be careful to keep its secrets from the enemies in this video war.

NATO's new Afghan battleground: YouTube - CNN.com: "NATO is acknowledging YouTube as its new battleground in the six-year war on Taliban fighters in Afghanistan, as the military alliance posts formerly secret surveillance and attack video. art.utube.afgn.ap.jpg Newly declassified video shows NATO forces destroying a truck in Afghanistan. The strategy aims to counter years of propaganda video posted on the Internet showing Taliban attacks on NATO forces which fighters use to claim that NATO's position in the Afghan war is deteriorating. 'The Taliban, who are literally cave-dwellers, are doing better than we are on a key battleground -- and that's video,' said NATO spokesman James Appathurai. 'They deploy with videographers. We don't. They have DVDs out in an hour, we don't.'"

Six Thousand Sunni Arabs Join Security Pact to Help U.S. Forces Block Terrorist Escape Routes

More good news. Fox does print a few items that are good, I wonder why the rest of the Media attacks them for this?

FOXNews.com - Six Thousand Sunni Arabs Join Security Pact to Help U.S. Forces Block Terrorist Escape Routes - International News | News of the World | Middle East News | Europe News: "Nearly 6,000 Sunni Arab residents joined a security pact with American forces Wednesday in what U.S. officers described as a critical step in plugging the remaining escape routes for extremists flushed from former strongholds. The new alliance — called the single largest single volunteer mobilization since the war began — covers the 'last gateway' for groups such as Al Qaeda in Iraq seeking new havens in northern Iraq, U.S. military officials said. U.S. commanders have tried to build a ring around insurgents who fled military offensives launched earlier this year in the western Anbar province and later into Baghdad and surrounding areas. In many places, the U.S.-led battles were given key help from tribal militias — mainly Sunnis — that had turned again Al Qaeda and other groups."

BoxBux Sux as Stix Hix Nix Xmas Flix

iowahawk: "Despite critical acclaim and massive promotional budgets, a wave of anti-Santa holiday pictures floundered at the box office over the Thanksgiving opening weekend, leading some entertainment industry analysts to question whether Hollywood had overestimated the American public's loathing for the Claus administration and a seemingly endless shopping season.

"I'm not sure what went wrong," said Jeff Bell of the MPAA after the release of the weekend Nielsen/EDI movie box office figures. "With all the griping you hear about the holidays, it stood to reason that people would flock to theaters for a chance to vent their hatred at that fat red fascist bastard. I blame illegal downloaders."

Whatever the reason, the financial results were grim.

"Kringle's List," starring George Clooney, Matt Damon, and Julia Roberts in a cautionary tale of rogue elf agents inside the North Pole's illegal Naughty and Nice wiretapping operation, led the pack of anti-Claus releases with weekend receipts of $68,500, for a $26 per-screen average. The film's take was only good for a #34 showing overall, just behind the limited arthouse re-release of the 1965 Don Knotts classic "The Incredible Mr. Limpet," but studio spokesman Rob Foulet said the film could eventually recoup its $180 million production budget through strong word-of-mouth and a new advertising campaign that downplays the film's elfin geopolitical psychodrama in favor of Miss Roberts' breasts.

"We're not saying she has a nude scene in the film, but we're not saying she doesn't," said Foulet. "That's up to the ticket buyers to find out.""

"(John) Bolton Pulls No Punches" (North Korea, Iran, Palestinian Appeasement Alert)

I love Mr Bolton, and I do NOT mean the singer. Even if he was at my last wedding. This guy is my favorite to clean up the mess at the State Department and even further. The Government Beaurcrats have messed things up in every department and need a guy who can shake things up. Can we name him the "Cleanup Bulldog" or something? Appoint him to fire a fifth of all government employees who are obstructionist instead of helpful?

"(John) Bolton Pulls No Punches" (North Korea, Iran, Palestinian Appeasement Alert): "The administration, he believes, is failing to achieve its most important goals. For example, President Bush pledged that the world's most dangerous weapons would not be allowed to fall into the hands of the world's worst dictators and terrorists. But for almost five years the United States has let the Europeans take the lead in a diplomatic dance to convince Iran to stop its nuclear-weapons development. That effort has been so heavy on incentives and so light on threats that Bolton calls it 'speaking softly and carrying a big carrot.' 'Engaging in diplomacy is not cost-free,' Bolton notes. The drawn-out talks have given Tehran time to master the intricacies of nuclear technology. Now, he believes, the only options left to prevent America-hating mullahs from acquiring nukes are encouraging a revolution - 'it is a fragile regime' - or 'targeted military force, a last resort.' Bolton also doubts that genuine progress is being made in negotiations with North Korea. He sees 'remarkable similarities' between where the Bush administration is heading and the 'agreed framework' President Bill Clinton negotiated with Pyongyang in 1994. That deal trusted but did not verify that North Korea, in return for generous rewards, would end its nuclear-weapons programs. North Korea is now promising to disable - but not dismantle - nuclear reactors. Bolton says that's "like taking the keys out of your car and putting them on the night stand.""

I'm Embarrassed to be White::By Mike S. Adams

Thanks Dr Adams, I have argued this for years, but you make it sound much better.

Townhall.com::I'm Embarrassed to be White::By Mike S. Adams: "For years on our campuses, blacks who do not agree with affirmative action – or any other mainstream “liberal” policies – have been labeled “in-authentically black.” By dubbing blacks “in-authentic” for other reasons - being too educated, too grammatically correct, or too family-oriented – “liberals” have half-succeeded in fulfilling their dream of white supremacy in the name of “diversity” and “tolerance.”

Now, by purging the white race of all of those who do not live up to the “liberal” ideals of white moral superiority, we can create a truly enlightened master race. Sound confusing and ridiculous? Welcome to UNCW (The University of Non-Caucasian Wannabes).

People at the Office of Campus Diversity tell me I need to learn to be more tolerant – especially of white “liberals” with a superior vision of the way things ought to be. But I just can’t tolerate white supremacy. I could tolerate a black supremacist. But I expect so much more from white people."

Nearly 80 Taliban killed in Afghanistan airstrikes

Smugglers should die. Hey! They did!

Saloon cars? What the heck are they?

Daily Times - Leading News Resource of Pakistan - Nearly 80 Taliban killed in Afghanistan airstrikes: "Nearly 80 Taliban rebels were killed in a series of air raids by international military forces near Afghanistan’s eastern border with Pakistan, a provincial government spokesman said on Sunday. Around 65 were killed in a single airstrike on a “large group of Taliban” late on Saturday in eastern Paktia province’s Patan district, according to Din Muhammad Darvish, a spokesman for the local administration. Smugglers: However, the Afghan Interior Ministry claimed that the group was smuggling weapons across the border from Pakistan on horses and in two saloon cars. The ministry said that Afghan and foreign forces engaged them and called in air support."

Taliban burn aid agency food: officials

To protect future generations from the West, they want to starve the mothers to death. Interesting religion! Kill the mothers to protect the children.

Daily Times - Leading News Resource of Pakistan - Taliban burn aid agency food: officials: "Local Taliban militants seized and burned thousands of kilogrammes of food destined for pregnant women from a hospital in South Waziristan, officials said on Sunday. The food, mainly lentils and cooking oil, had been supplied by the aid charity Save the Children to feed pregnant women suffering from malnutrition. A Taliban activist said they were destroyed because “foreign NGOs want to harm our future generations.” An administration official, Tariq Salim, said the Health Ministry officials had not consulted him before distributing food directly to the women. Meanwhile, in North Waziristan, three people were killed and five wounded when troops conducted “retaliatory” strikes on suspected militant hideouts in Mir Ali, local officials said. Several houses were destroyed in the strikes that came after militants hit a checkpost with a missile barrage. One soldier was wounded in the rocket attack late Saturday, they said. afp"

Extremists call on supporters to adopt new non-violent Jihad

How about this! Islamists finally admit that jihad is VIOLENT! Something that has been lied about for years to fool the usual useful fools that Stalin liked so much.

AKI - Adnkronos international Egypt: Extremists call on supporters to adopt new non-violent Jihad: "Egypt: Extremists call on supporters to adopt new non-violent Jihad

Cairo, 23 Nov. (AKI) - The Egyptian Islamic extremist group, Jemaa al-Islamiya, has called on its foreign allies to adopt the new Jihad proposed by its jailed leader Sayd Imam.

The initiative follows the release of a new manual this week by Imam, who called for an end to militant operations and violence against civilians in Arab countries.

"We invite all the jihadis abroad to have no doubt about the new initiative that we are proposing from the jihadi doctrine of Sayd Imam," it said in a statement distributed to Arab media.

"This new jihadi doctrine is one of a number of initiatives that the new group has undertaken to reinstate security and avoid bloodshed in Islamic societies.

"We want to also avoid internal wars and divisions and return to our original doctrine. "

The group then thanked Sayd Imam, ideologue of the group, describing his initiative as "courageous" and stressed the importance of the new doctrine by someone who has written texts considered the basis for al-Qaeda.

Sayd Imam, a surgeon still known by his underground name of 'Dr Fadel', is currently imprisoned in a Cairo jail.

He was the founder of the Egyptian Islamic Jihad organisation, whose supporters assassinated President Anwar Sadat in 1981 and later worked with Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan against the Soviet occupation."

UN Watchdog Admits being duped

What a shock. I am surprised. Iran lied. wow.

Actually, I am surprised that IAEA figured out it was being lied to. I did not think the UN would ever figure it out. Or admit it.

Collactive: GIYUS.org - UN Watchdog Admits Failure: "The UN atomic watchdog said Thursday it was in the dark about Iran's disputed nuclear programme, as its 35-member board seemed divided on how to get Tehran to shed more light on its activities. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) 'has so far not been able to verify some important aspects of Iran's nuclear programme,' its director general Mohamed ElBaradei told a board meeting here. He specifically cited key questions related to the scope and nature of Iran's centrifuge enrichment activities, 'as well as those relevant to alleged studies and other activities that could have military applications'."

64 officers injured in Paris riots

A kid rams his bike into a police car and dies, so the 'youths' of the Muslim neighborhood all riot and try to beat the cops to death. Notice that no injured or arrested rioters are mentioned. The French are too easy on these 'youths'.

64 officers injured in Paris riots: Police-Europe-World-The Times of India: "64 officers injured in Paris riots: Police 27 Nov 2007, 1126 hrs IST,

PARIS: French police on Tuesday said its 64 officers were injured in the second night of clashes with youths in and around the flashpoint Paris suburb of Villiers-le-Bel, adding that five of them were in critical condition. The injuries followed rioting in Villiers-le-Bel and the nearby towns of Sarcelles and Garges-les-Gonesses, a police source said.
Violence erupted in Villiers-le-Bel on Sunday after two teenagers died when their motorbike crashed into a police car. The accident sparked six hours of clashes."
