The Alternate President

This article is going to make Hillary flip out, which is good. It is going to make Nancy dance for joy, which is disgusting to think about. One thing I have to wonder about is why President Bush's and Dr. Rice's early overtures are ignored in here? Is it because they told the truth and Pelosi is a dhimmi who is willing to allow Sharia to be implimented as long as she gets enough cash and accolades?

The Alternate President: "The Alternate President
Friday, 06 April 2007

US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi reminds us of the ambitious office worker who is surrounded by dunderheads who can’t or won’t get the job done. So she rolls up her sleeves and says for all the world to hear: “Well, it looks like I’ll have to do it myself.’

Pelosi, the rabble-rousing Democratic leader – or better yet the Alternate President – apparently has decided that President George Bush’s refusal to sit down and negotiate with Syria and Iran is just plain silly. If we are going to inch closer towards peace in Iraq, slow down Iran’s nuclear ambitions and create a stable region, perhaps folding our arms across our chests and frowning is not the right approach.

Pelosi, we have to admit, is grandstanding a bit. She and her delegation met with Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad and senior Syrian officials on Wednesday and she met with King Abdullah later the same evening.

She pressed Al-Assad to end his country’s support for militant groups and to stem the flow of insurgents into Iraq from across Syria’s borders. And she urged him to put some space between himself and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

And while we don’t have details of her meeting with King Abdullah, their discussions “ centered around the Saudi initiative for peace in the Middle East,” as she told reporters.

While substantive dialogue would be meaningful, it’s the mere fact that Pelosi had the audacity to brush aside the increasingly isolated White House to get some work done.

Pelosi’s delegation wants to emphasize the vital role that Syria plays in bringing peace to Lebanon, Iraq and the Palestinian territories.

“We came in friendship and hope, and determined that the road to Damascus is a road to peace,” Pelosi told reporters after her meetings.

Yet Bush sees it as politics, pure and simple. “Sending delegations hasn’t worked,” he said. “It’s just simply been counterproductive.”

Maybe. Maybe not. Certainly the silent treatment and saber rattling haven’t been productive. "

Iraqi group 'splits' from al-Qaeda

Interesting way to see the US Congress! Of course, they also have an interesting way of viewing themselves. Read the full article to see why the group has also broken ties with Al-Qaeda.

Iraqi group 'splits' from al-Qaeda | Iraq Updates: "Al-Shammari said they would be willing to deal with the Americans if certain conditions are met.

'We, the Islamic Army in Iraq, are ready to negotiate, but only with the US congress.

'They are the representatives of the American people, and the Iraqi resistance represents the Iraqi people. We are ready to establish a dialogue with them, not with the arrogant US administration.'

Al-Shammari said no talks have taken place so far with US officials and that Washington must recognise Iraqi armed groups as the only genuine representatives of the Iraqi people before such a meeting can be considered.

Main danger

Al-Shammari said that his group didn't consider US forces to be the main danger in Iraq.

'There are two occupations: Iranian and American, and the Iranian one is more dangerous than American because Iran considers Iraq as a part of their country.'"

Buddhist woman burned alive in Muslim south Thailand

Muslims getting more and more violent to others? Might be time to be more violent towards them!

Reuters AlertNet - Buddhist woman burned alive in Muslim south Thailand: "A Buddhist woman was shot and burned alive in Thailand's violence-torn Muslim-majority south on Wednesday, prompting angry protests in front of visiting army chief Sonthi Boonyaratglin.

Watcharaporn Boonmak, 26, was ambushed by gunmen as she rode her motorcycle through a Muslim village in Yala, one of the three southern provinces roiled by three years of separatist insurgency in which more than 2,000 people have been killed.

'She might have been shot in the stomach before they set fire to her and her motorcycle,' a Yala police officer, who asked to remain anonymous, told Reuters by telephone.

One of her relatives told Reuters that witnesses at the scene heard Watcharaporn, a garage clerk, screaming and crawling along the road for help but nobody dared respond for fear of reprisals."

Bombing at Iraqi parliament kills 8

Now the local bodyguards are getting in on the assassinations. The Iraqs are still more civilized than the Palestinians. Not that that is very difficult!

Bombing at Iraqi parliament kills 8 - Yahoo! News: "A suicide bomber blew himself up in the Iraqi parliament cafeteria Thursday, killing at least eight people — including three lawmakers — and wounding dozens in a stunning assault in the heart of the heavily fortified, U.S.-protected Green Zone.

A news video camera captured the moment of the blast — a flash and an orange ball of fire causing a startled Muslim imam who was being interviewed to duck, and then the smoky, dust-filled aftermath of confusion and shouting. The video was shot by Alhurra, a U.S. government-funded Arab-language channel.

The blast came hours after a suicide truck bomb exploded on a major bridge in Baghdad, collapsing the steel structure and sending cars tumbling into the Tigris River, police and witnesses said. At least 10 people were killed.

The parliament bombing was believed to be the deadliest attack in the Green Zone, the enclave that houses Iraq's leadership as well as the U.S. Embassy, and is secured by American and Iraqi checkpoints.

Security officials at parliament, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release the information, said they believed the bomber was a bodyguard of a Sunni member of parliament who was not among the dead. They would not name the member of parliament."

IMAO: A Comment on Comments

With the new talk about having a blogger code of conduct imposed upon us, I found this version that I think I enjoy the most. This might just become mine too! Let me know if this works for you.

IMAO: A Comment on Comments: "THE IMAO COMMENT POLICY

* All comments you make are property of IMAO. As soon as a comment is made, we can do whatever we want with it. We can delete it, edit it, or print it out and frame it and sell it on eBay. You do have some rights, though, such as not having to give lodgings to soldiers and not being forced to incriminate yourself in a court of law (though we may edit comments so you incriminate yourself).

* Official policy of IMAO is that we don't read your comments. While I do in fact read every comment, if someone comes up to me and says, 'Why didn't you do something about this horrible comment?!' My response will always be, 'This is the first I've seen of it. I'll do something about it right away!'

* Because I say I'll do something about a comment right away doesn't mean I'll ever actually do something about the comment.

* Comments can be deleted for any reason... or no reason whatsoever. If a comment is deemed offensive, it may be deleted. If a comment is deemed too mean, it may be deleted. Attack in Villages on Chad’s Border With Sudan Kills 400

This report only talks about the militiamen without mentioning their religion. Good thing I knew that the janjaweeds and that they kill for Allah! Of course, this is from the NYT which will print anything that hurts President Bush unedited while spinning anything that might make the Religion of Peace look violent.

Attack in Villages on Chad’s Border With Sudan Kills 400, Report Says - New York Times: "The United Nations refugee agency said Tuesday that militiamen had killed up to 400 people in the volatile eastern border region near Sudan, leaving an “apocalyptic” scene of mass graves and destruction.

The attacks, by militiamen known as the janjaweed, took place March 31 in the border villages of Tiero and Marena, some 550 miles from this capital. Chadian officials initially said 65 people had died, but added that the toll was sure to rise.

“Estimates of the number of dead have increased substantially, and now range between 200 and 400,” a report by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees said. The report added that many of the dead were buried in common graves. “We may never know their exact number,” it said.

The attackers encircled the villages and opened fire, pursuing fleeing villagers, robbing women and shooting the men, the agency said. Many who survived the attack died from exhaustion and dehydration."

ISRAEL REENTERS GAZA IN FIERCE CLASH

Israel reenters Gaza? What else could they do when underattack? Stop at the border and allow the firing to continue? I know that the terrorists and their supporters would love it if the Jews would just roll over to be killed, but that is not a realistic expectation. If the PA does not want the Israelis to counter attack, do not start an attack! Seems like common sense.

Middle East Newsline -: "ISRAEL REENTERS GAZA IN FIERCE CLASH

GAZA CITY [MENL] -- The Israeli military has reentered the Gaza Strip in one of the fiercest clashes since November 2006.

Palestinian sources said Israeli attack helicopters fired missiles toward Palestinian targets in the northern Gaza Strip. The sources said a Palestinian fighter was killed in the clash on Saturday near the Jabalya refugee camp north of Gaza City.

The Israeli AH-64 Apache attack helicopters were said to have fired at least two air-to-ground missiles, the sources said. They said the Palestinians fired rocket-propelled grenades and machine guns toward the Israeli military.

The clash began when the Iranian-sponsored Islamic Jihad detonated improvised explosive devices along the Israeli security fence that surrounds the Gaza Strip. At that point, Israel's military counter-attacked, and the sources said Israeli armored vehicles entered Palestinian Authority territory."

Lodi Terrorism Case Back In Court

I am also biased against murderers. I guess that I could not serve on a jury because of that!

abc7news.com: Lodi Terrorism Case Back In Court: "Apr. 6 - KGO - A Lodi man convicted on terrorism charges heads back to court today, hoping to get a new trial because of jury misconduct charges.
A jury found Hamid Hayat guilty last year of undergoing terrorist training in Pakistan.

Hayat has filed a motion that accuses the jury foreman had a bias against people accused of terrorist activities and hid his bias with dishonest answers while jurors were chosen.

Hayat faces up to 39 years in prison."

Jordan Michael Smith - Quebec right on Muslims

Wow! I never expected the Canadians to be understanding the threats to the Canadian culture. Now if we could just teach more of the Leftist politicians this Truth.

ottawasun.com - Jordan Michael Smith - Quebec right on Muslims: "What's on your wish list?

While nobody was watching, Quebec quietly became the most self-confident province in the country. A series of events over the past few years have shown Quebec to be proud of its liberalism, proud of Western civilization and proud of itself.

The latest involves the Quebec government giving a Muslim woman who wants to be a prison guard a choice: She could either remove her hijab or she could train to be a prison guard. But she could not do both. The woman chose the hjiab.

Predictably, Muslim advocacy groups have been crying racism. “It is an ultimatum, remove the hijab or you’re out of here,” said the head of the Muslim Council of Britain. “That’s not a security issue, this is much more a bigoted issue.”

The government stuck to its guns.

“As a security measure, the hijab cannot be accepted as an element of the uniform to execute the functions of a correctional officer,” a department spokesman said.

The Muslim Council called for compromise — something that covers the hair and neck that isn’t a hijab — but the government refused.

This may seem unnecessarily rigid on the part of the government, but this is not an isolated issue. All across the Western world,"

Hero's tale is 'too positive' for the BBC

Too positive?? This is yet another reason to ban the once proud BBC. They have fallen into the pit of stupidity and I am not sure there is a way out for them. Pity. They used to be such a great organization.

Hero's tale is 'too positive' for the BBC | International News | News | Telegraph: "Private Johnson Beharry's courage in rescuing an ambushed foot patrol then, in a second act, saving his vehicle's crew despite his own terrible injuries earned him a Victoria Cross.

For the BBC, however, his story is 'too positive' about the conflict.

The corporation has cancelled the commission for a 90-minute drama about Britain's youngest surviving Victoria Cross hero because it feared it would alienate members of the audience opposed to the war in Iraq.

The BBC's retreat from the project, which had the working title Victoria Cross, has sparked accusations of cowardice and will reignite the debate about the broadcaster's alleged lack of patriotism."

Intelligence: Lawyers Are Not Your Friends

The continuing Lawfare waged by the Left against the US in support of the Global Jihad is starting to finally hit some bumps. Maybe it will be slowed down to the point that the US can win. Not if the Left can help it, but maybe.

Intelligence: Lawyers Are Not Your Friends: "How important is this intelligence edge? One could probably gauge its importance in many areas, including the number of successful attacks by al-Qaeda since the United States adopted its post-9/11 approach. Some planned attacks have been thwarted, including a plan to hijack airliners and crash them into British targets, a plan to attack Marines in Djibouti, and the American consulate in Karachi, Pakistan. Another metric is in the number of terrorist cells rounded up. Those successes aside, several leaders in Congress, like Senator Patrick Leahy, have announced their intention to restore detainees' access to the courts, despite the knowledge that American rules of discovery have aided al-Qaeda's counter-intelligence efforts.

The intelligence battle is one that is never talked about much. That's generally how intelligence professionals prefer it. That said, this fight is likely to be public, with a number of politicians and pundits talking about civil liberties. The oft-ignored subtext will be about whether or not valuable methods of gathering intelligence, and the sources of that intelligence, will be compromised just so some people can feel that terrorists had a fair trial, never considering that they may have made it more likely a future attack will succeed."

Grave No. 9

This is sick. I have read about this family before. These 'men' that dominate their family need to be kneecapped and then buried alive. Only fair to the many women they have murdered and beaten. Poor women.

Grave No. 9 - Haaretz - Israel News: "One day in mid-January, Hamda Abu-Ghanem, 19, was found lying in her bed in her home in Ramle, her body riddled with bullets. She was the eighth woman in her family to be killed in the past six years, and this time the other women in the family decided to break their silence. One after the other, they came to the police station, in order to read to the investigators the writing on the wall. Most of them couldn't say for certain just who had killed Hamda, but unlike previous times, when they'd kept quiet, this time they told the detectives what it was like to live with the fear that they would be next in line, a fear that had stalked Hamda as well.

'The revolt of the Abu-Ghanem women,' the investigators called it. Finally, after years of investigations that never led anywhere, they'd be able to convict the guilty parties - or so they thought. They built the case primarily around the testimony of one witness, Y., a relative who saw Hamda's brother fleeing the scene of the crime and who had agreed to testify about it, though not without great hesitation. At the end of February, a month and a half after giving her testimony - and after telling police 'I'm next in line' - she disappeared."

Beslan memorial plan angers Russian Muslim leader

I tend to agree that religion should be minimized in this memorial, but the Islamist murders should be highlighted as such. They murdered children in the name of Allah the Merciful. Why can't that be pointed out?

Reuters AlertNet - Beslan memorial plan angers Russian Muslim leader: "Plans to build a memorial to the 333 hostages killed three years ago in the Beslan school siege have sparked a row between Christians and Muslims in Russia.

The local Russian Orthodox diocese says it will build a church in the grounds of Beslan's school No. 1 to commemorate the victims -- half of them children -- killed in a clash between insurgents and Russian troops.

But one of Russia's leading Muslim clerics has accused the Orthodox church of trying to hijack a national tragedy by building a memorial that he said would exclude the more than 20 million Muslims who live in the country.

'It is not acceptable to present this tragedy as the tragedy of followers of only one religion,' Sheikh Ravil Gainutdin, chairman of the Council of Russian Muftis, said in a statement."

Muslims play part in Easter parade for first time, Spanish News, Spain, Expatica

I wonder how long it will take for Spain to rejoin the Caliphate? They seem to be working hard at it! This time it is not even being conquered by armies, it is just hordes of unemployed Muslims who hate living in a Muslim country so they are taking over a nice Christian country to make like the country they fled. What a bunch of morons and dhimmi!

Muslims play part in Easter parade for first time, Spanish News, Spain, Expatica: "A traditional Easter parade in Spain broke new ground by allowing Muslim prayer beads to be entwined in the hands of a statue of the Virgin Mary.

The Virgin of Hope was paraded through the streets of Ceuta, one of Spain’s two north African enclaves, with a string of Muslim prayer beads entwined in her hand, an unprecedented step during the yearly Holy Week celebrations.

The black prayer beads were donated to the brotherhood which puts on the procession by a Muslim family.

One of the members of the brotherhood is a doctor who treated a sick family member.

Members of the brotherhood said the thoughtfulness of the Muslim family showed the multicultural character of Ceuta, a city which Morocco lays claim to along with the other enclave of Melilla."

Christians in Pakistan Celebrate Easter amid Blasphemy Fears

I read this whole article twice. The charge is just that two kids had a fight, the Muslim one beat the Christian one, during the beating, the Christian one damaged the Koranic verses wrapped around the Muslim's wrist. So, for this blasphemy the kid and his family are going to be killed? What is wrong with the Religion of Peace?

Christian Today – Christian News > Christians in Pakistan Celebrate Easter amid Blasphemy Fears: "A blasphemy charge was made on April 1 accusing an 11-year-old Christian boy and four other Christians, including his relatives, of blasphemy by desecrating a sacred band with inscriptions from the Koran worn by a Muslim boy, who worked for a rival television cable operator to one of the Christians. Christians there are calling it a trumped up claim.

'We Christians are worried. We are appealing to the government to ensure the safety of Christians and to drop the false blasphemy charge,' Victor Azariah, general secretary of the National Council of Churches of Pakistan told Ecumenical News International.

According to the National Council of Churches in Pakistan, a grouping of four of the country’s Protestant churches, said there was tension and that violence had been meted out to Christians in the Toba Tek Singh district of Punjab province following the charge."

Mufti urges Muslims to 'get in trenches' with Iran

This guy is an embarassment to Australians and the West. He should just stay in Iran. Or get buried for returning. What a traitor to Western values.

Since one Australian has already admitted to joining the Global Jihad and been convicted at Gitmo, I wonder how many more will turn up now that the Iranian front is heating up so hot? Luckily, the Australians do not tolerate stupidity like this much more than conservative Americans and so the damage might be minimal. I hope.

Mufti urges Muslims to 'get in trenches' with Iran | NEWS.com.au: "AUSTRALIA'S most senior Islamic cleric, Sheik Taj al-Din al-Hilali, called on the Muslim world to unite behind the radical Iranian regime and to serve in its 'trenches' in comments published during a visit to Tehran last weekend.

As Iran was involved in a standoff with Western powers over the detention of 15 British naval personnel seized after they were accused of trespassing in its waters last month, the Iranian media were using Sheik Hilali's quotes in a propaganda drive.

The controversial Australian mufti was quoted as saying that the global Islamic nation would never 'kneel' to its enemies."

ACS revokes membership of Iranians

It might only be temporary, but it is also about time! These people are helping their government to build terror weapons. Disgusting stuff. I wonder how many other international organizations are keeping these Iranians on their lists?

The MEMRI Blog: "The Iranian news agency ISNA reported on April 4, 2007 that the American Chemical Society has revoked the membership of 36 Iranian scientists after it determined that having members in Iran violates U.S. law.

The society expressed the hope that after the legal obstacles of this issue have been removed it will reinstate the memberships.

Also, the International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE) has stopped sending requested magazines to Iranian engineers because it claims that doing so would be against U.S.
