French fight against Religion of Global Warming

Wow. Since the Socialists tend to love following the French lead, I wonder how this will play out. Actually, I am going to love watching it!

Bloomberg.com: Muse: "Climate-change skeptics are taking a beating these days even in France, where people long resisted the green creed.

Paris bookstores brim with guidebooks -- including one shaped like a toilet seat -- that tell readers how to help save our planet. Yet the dissidents refuse to shut up, even now that Al Gore has won the Nobel Peace Prize and the U.S. government has agreed to negotiate a new global-warming treaty by 2009.

The most conspicuous doubter in France is Claude Allegre, a former education minister and a physicist by profession. His new book, ``Ma Verite Sur la Planete'' (``My Truth About the Planet''), doesn't mince words.

He calls Gore a ``crook'' presiding over an eco-business that pumps out cash. As for Gore's French followers, the author likens them to religious zealots who, far from saving humanity, are endangering it. Driven by a Judeo-Christian guilt complex, he says, French greens paint worst-case scenarios and attribute little-understood cycles to human misbehavior.

Allegre doesn't deny that the climate has changed or that extreme weather has become more common. He instead emphasizes the local character of these phenomena.

While the icecap of the North Pole is shrinking, the one covering Antarctica -- or 92 percent of the Earth's ice -- is not, he says. Nor have Scandinavian glaciers receded, he says."

Hate cleric Omar Bakri calls for 'ban' on Christmas

Why don't Muslims everywhere denounce this freak? In the US the Christian establishment has distanced itself from the "Westboro Baptist Church" and its hate filled rants. Why is it that Muslims can't do the same thing with their extremist freaks?

Also, Bakri has lived on government aid for 19 years. Why? The English are supporting terrorism supporters so that they can spread the hate? Send this guys family to him if he wants to see them. If they do not want to go, then strip off their hijabs and make them live like English! I think the kids might like it.

Hate cleric Omar Bakri calls for 'ban' on Christmas| News | This is London: "Hate preacher Omar Bakri, who is barred from Britain, is calling on Brits to boycott Christmas.

Using the internet to post a rant against the festive season, Bakri claims Christmas should be 'completely forbidden'.

In another chilling post the radical cleric said Christmas Day would be the perfect day to launch a terror attack on the UK.

He said: 'To have Christmas tree, visit so-called Christmas Father - that is completely forbidden.

'Make sure you do not watch TV. Do not let them hear jingle bells. Do not send your children on Christmas trip.'"

Heb. U. Paper Finds: IDF Has Political Motives for Not Raping

Talk about being between a rock and a hard place! If the Israelis rape, then they are monsters, if they do NOT rape, they are political monsters.

The IDF is a very professional organization which assumes, correctly, that every mistake will make the news and be slanted to an even more negative problem. Also, the Jewish religion and culture reject the kind of scum who rape.

Heb. U. Paper Finds: IDF Has Political Motives for Not Raping - Politics & Government - Israel News - Arutz Sheva: "A research paper that won a Hebrew University teachers' committee prize finds that the lack of IDF rapes of Palestinian women is designed to serve a political purpose.

The abstract of the paper, authored by doctoral candidate Tal Nitzan, notes that the paper shows that 'the lack of organized military rape is an alternate way of realizing [particular] political goals.'

The next sentence delineates the particular goals that are realized in this manner: 'In the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, it can be seen that the lack of military rape merely strengthens the ethnic boundaries and clarifies the inter-ethnic differences - just as organized military rape would have done.'"

Pakistan's Bhutto Assassinated in Attack

What a waste of life. This lady stood for change and moderation, so, of course, some extremists were seriously upset and had to kill her.

Pakistan's Bhutto Assassinated in Attack: "Pakistan opposition leader Benazir Bhutto was assassinated Thursday in a suicide attack that also killed at least 20 others at the end of a campaign rally, aides said.

'The surgeons confirmed that she has been martyred,' Bhutto's lawyer Babar Awan said.

A party security adviser said Bhutto was shot in neck and chest as she got into her vehicle to leave the rally in Rawalpindi near the capital Islamabad. A gunman then blew himself up.

'At 6:16 p.m. she expired,' said Wasif Ali Khan, a member of Bhutto's party who was at Rawalpindi General Hospital where she was taken after the attack."

Breaking the terrorist habit in the Middle East

Turning Abbas's logic on its head | Jerusalem Post: "To begin, some basic facts about the Palestinian economy, drawing on a fine survey by Ziv Hellman, 'Terminal Situation,' in the Dec. 24 issue of Jerusalem Report:

# Palestinian per year per-capita income has contracted by about 40 percent since its $2,000 peak in 1992 (before the Oslo process began) to less than $1,200 now.

# Per-capita Israeli income, 10 times greater than the Palestinians' in 1967 is now 23 times greater.

# Deep poverty has increased in Gaza from 22 percent of the population in 1998 to nearly 35 percent in 2006; it would be about 67 percent if not for remittances and food aid.

# Direct foreign investment barely exists, while local capital mostly gets sent abroad or is invested in real estate or short-term trading.

# The Palestinian Authority economy, Hellman writes, 'is largely based on monopolies in various industries granted by PA officials in exchange for kickbacks.'

# The PA's payroll is so bloated that the cost of wages alone exceeds all revenues.

# A dysfunctional judicial system in the PA means armed gangs usually decide commercial disputes.

UNSURPRISINGLY, Hellman characterizes the Palestinian economy as 'in shambles.' Such shambles should come as no surprise, for as the late Lord Bauer and"

Muslims ban Jews from praying at Holiest Temple

WorldNetDaily: Jews demand right to pray on Temple Mount: "Rabbinic leaders and Temple Mount activist groups here today demanded the Israeli government allow Jews to pray on the Temple Mount – Judaism's holiest site.

Israeli restrictions forbid Jewish prayer on the Temple Mount and only allow Jews to ascend for certain hours on some days while the Mount is open to Muslims yearlong. Muslim prayer services take place throughout the day on the many mosques and Islamic religious schools situated on the holy site.

'We demand the Government of Israel allow the Jewish people to have freedom of religious expression on the Temple Mount. This will serve as a preliminary step in confirming the Jewish people's inexorable connection with the Temple Mount, location of the Holy Temple, under the sovereignty of the people of Israel,' states a letter to Prime Minister Ehud Olmert signed by the leaders of the New Jewish Congress, the Sanhedrin and the Holy Temple and Temple Mount movements."

Hindus Attack Churches on Christmas

This is horrible, but in a way I am glad that it is not Muslims, for once.

Hindus Attack Churches on Christmas: "the New Delhi-based Catholic Bishops Conference of India said the fighting began Monday when Hindu extremists objected to a show marking Christmas Eve, believing it was designed to encourage Hindus at the bottom of the religion's rigid caste hierarchy to convert to Christianity. Low-caste Hindus are often a target of missionaries.

An argument over the Christmas show got out of hand and some of the Hindus opened fire on the Christians, wounding three of them, said John Dayal, a spokesman for the Bishops Conference.

The Hindus then went on a rampage Tuesday, Christmas Day, chasing people out of six churches and setting the mud-and-thatch buildings ablaze, he said.

Later, dozens of people from each community clashed, Dayal said. One person was killed, he added, but could not say if the dead man was a Hindu or Christian. Another 25 people were wounded, the Press Trust of India news agency said.

Much of the ill-will in the area, about 840 miles southeast of the national capital, New Delhi, stems from anti-missionary sentiment. Some hardline Hindus are pushing for all missionaries to be expelled while Christians have challenged the conversion law in court, saying it violates India's constitution."

Iraqis pack churches for Christmas

Peace on Earth. Thanks to Jesus and his birthday. May God bless that land

Iraqis pack churches for Christmas - Yahoo! News: "Christians have often been the target of attacks by Islamic extremists in Iraq, forcing tens of thousands to flee. Many of those who stayed were isolated in neighborhoods protected by barricades and checkpoints. Less than 3 percent of Iraq's 26 million people are Christians — the majority Chaldean-Assyrians and Armenians, with small numbers of Roman Catholics.

A coordinated bombing campaign in 2004 targeted churches in the Iraqi capital, and anti-Christian violence also flared last September after Pope Benedict XVI made comments perceived to be against Islam.

But this year, with the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha coming just before Christmas, Iraq has been living through some of the most peaceful moments since the U.S.-led invasion of 2003.

Cardinal Emmanuel III Delly, leader of the ancient Chaldean Catholic Church and Iraq's first cardinal, celebrated Mass before about 2,000 people in the Mar Eliya Church the eastern New Baghdad neighborhood of the capital.

'Iraq is a bouquet of flowers of different colors, each color represents a religion or ethnicity but all of them have the same scent,' the 80-year-old Delly told the congregation.

Muslim clerics — both Sunni and Shiite — also attended the service in a sign of unity."

iowahawk and Common Wisdom

iowahawk: "The holidays are a special time for all Americans. It is a time when we gather together with friends and neighbors to celebrate and share the festive spirit of the season. Some of us celebrate Christmas, some Kwanzaa or Eid; others, like my running mate Jeff Goldstein, Hannukah. In my family we gather around the p'canclhu, and re-enact the transmogrification of Loumbogu, the hundred-headed goat-thing of Su'yocra Tantchohg.

But no matter what traditions we follow, this is a time to look back on the many blessings we share as Americans. Like you, I am grateful for our freedoms and opportunities and material abundance. Above all, as a candidate for President of the United States, I am especially grateful for the opponents that our political process has provided me. Let's pour a glass of eggnog and gather by the fire for a review, shall we?"

Muslims break taboo to allow guide dog into mosque -Times Online

East meets West and West wins? I wonder if the Islamists will burn these people as heretics?

Muslims break taboo to allow guide dog into mosque -Times Online: "A RETRIEVER is in training to become the first dog in Britain to be permitted to enter a mosque, acting as a guide for its blind Muslim owner.

The animal has been chosen because it salivates less than usual, thus reducing the risk of flicking spittle onto other worshippers at the Al Falah mosque in Leicester.

Keeping pet dogs is considered “haram” (the Arabic word for “forbidden”) in Islamic teaching, because they are regarded as unclean, particularly their saliva.

The mosque took its decision after advice from imams and scholars at the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB), who carried out a full review of Islamic teaching on dogs."

Malaysian Catholic weekly told to drop use of 'Allah' - The China Post

I see that the Muslims are now denying that there is a link between them and the religions they have claimed as having the same base. Interesting. Very interesting.

Malaysian Catholic weekly told to drop use of 'Allah' - The China Post: "A Catholic weekly newspaper in Malaysia has been told to drop the use of the word 'Allah' in its Malay language section if it wants to renew its publishing permit, a senior government official said Friday. The Herald, the organ of Malaysia's Catholic Church, has translated the word God as 'Allah' but it is erroneous because Allah refers to the Muslim God, said Che Din Yusoff, a senior official at the Internal Security Ministry's publications control unit.

'Christians cannot use the word Allah. It is only applicable to Muslims. Allah is only for the Muslim god. This is a design to confuse the Muslim people,' Che Din told The Associated Press. The weekly should instead, use the word 'Tuhan' which is the general term for God, he said."

NBC Weapons: More Stryker Substance Seekers Secured

NBC Weapons: More Stryker Substance Seekers Secured: "The U.S. Army is buying another 95 M1135 Stryker NBCRV (Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Reconnaissance Vehicle) vehicles. The first 21 were bought two years ago, mainly for evaluation and field testing. Some were sent to Iraq, where they performed well. The army wants to eventually have 355 of these vehicles, providing each of the army's 40 Chemical Warfare companies with six of them, while each of the seven Stryker brigades get three. The U.S. has never had a vehicle like the NBCRV, and during the 1991 Gulf War, depended on Czech NBCRV vehicles to do the job. The Stryker NBCRV vehicle keeps the crew protected from any contamination, and contains detection equipment that provides a lower (than previous equipment) false alarm rate. The sensors carried attempt to detect nuclear, biological or chemical threats in small enough quantities that nearby troops can be warned to get their protective gear on before much damage is done. The Stryker NBCRV can move about quickly on roads, or cross country, and can be transported in a C-130 (or larger) air transport. The detection equipment in the Stryker NBCRV is being reconfigured so that it can operate as a separate unit, for stationary operation."

IslamicTerrorism: Then, Now and Later

Great analysis of the past year and what happened to the Islamists

Terrorism: Then, Now and Later: "It's not been a good year for Islamic terrorism. In Iraq, al Qaeda was crushed when the principal al Qaeda supporters, the Sunni Arab minority, turned on the terrorists. Same thing happened, to a lesser extent, in Afghanistan, where some of the pro-Taliban tribes turned anti-al Qaeda, and killed hundreds of al Qaeda fighters. In North Africa, defeated Algerian terrorist groups joined al Qaeda, and tried to revive their revolution. This meant adopting the al Qaeda suicide bomber tactics. While al Qaeda was able to do more than one bombing a day (at their peak) in Iraq, and several a week in Afghanistan, the Algerian branch averaged less than one a month. These attacks grabbed headlines, but the public reaction was all wrong, for the terrorists. The average Algerian saw dead Moslem women and children, and became even more hostile to Islamic terrorism."

Wars Update: Hidden Headlines Revealed

This is a wonderful list of what is happening around the world in all the wars. It is nice to see that peace is closer than ever.

Wars Update: Hidden Headlines Revealed: "While the headlines concentrate on peace breaking out in Iraq, that's but part of a worldwide trend for the last few years. Violence has also diminished, or disappeared completely, in places like Nepal, Chechnya. Congo, Indonesia and Burundi. This continues a trend that began when the Cold War ended, and the Soviet Union no longer subsidized terrorist and rebel groups everywhere. The current wars are basically uprisings against police states or feudal societies, which are seen as out-of-step with the modern world. Many are led by radicals preaching failed dogmas (Islamic conservatism, Maoism), that still resonate among people who don't know about the dismal track records of these movements."
