Debating the Root Causes of Suicide Terrorism

Wow. More proof that it is easy to control statistics to make them say almost anything, even the opposite of the true figures. Go and read the full study

lgf: Debating the Root Causes of Suicide Terrorism: "University of Chicago political scientist Robert Pape has been in the forefront of those arguing that suicide terrorism is neither an act of desperation nor a result of Islamist ideology, but a carefully measured means to achieve a political end. It’s an argument that’s been used by many multiculturalists (and by Islamists themselves) as a way to absolve Islam itself of any responsibility for this barbaric practice. But in an interesting piece for Middle East Quarterly, Jonathan Fine says Pape cooked the data for his study: Contrasting Secular and Religious Terrorism."
