Israeli troops detain 7 in brief foray into Gaza, Palestinians say

YAY! The Israelis are finally starting to protect their citizens again. I know that the Leftists will decry this as a violation of the treaty that the Palestinians have been ignoring, but that is life in the Middle East. I still advocate the removal of the terrain of Gaza from the map. Flatten the whole thing, rake it smooth, then return it to the Egyptians, but limit the military presence. Palestine is not a country, it is a movement spawned in hate.

Israeli troops detain 7 in brief foray into Gaza, Palestinians say - Israel News, Ynetnews: "n a brief foray into Gaza, Israeli troops detained seven Palestinians near the border area withIsrael early Wednesday, Palestinian security officials said.

All of the detainees were later released, the officials said.

According to the officials, a large IDF force entered the Khan Younis area in south Gaza, from which Qassam rockets are regularly fired toward Israel. The troops searched a number of homes, took over several buildings and gathered dozens of men at the Huza’a neighborhood.

The officials claimed that the detainees are all members of one family and do not belong to any terror group.

The ground operation, which was the first since a truce was declared between Israel and the Palestinian factions in November 2006, was apparently aimed at gathering intelligence on terror activity in the Strip, including Qassam attacks on Israel and the digging of arms-smuggling tunnels."
