An Israeli military patrol ambushed near the divided Israeli-Lebanese border village of Ghajar

I thought the UN enforced a no fire zone in southern Lebanon? Where were they? Where are they? I have to wonder if UN peacekeepers without US troops are actually worth the pay the US pays. Just more proof that Israel is under more attacks from Muslim terrorists that the UN wants to ignore. What a waste of my tax dollars.

DEBKAfile - DEBKAfile: An Israeli military patrol ambushed near the divided Israeli-Lebanese border village of Ghajar: "Sunday night, Feb. 3, a routine Israeli military border patrol came under gunfire outside the village. They soldiers fired back. The Lebanese reported two dead on their side of the border. There were no Israeli casualties. Israeli reinforcements arrived on the scene. This was the first cross-border shooting incident from Lebanon since the end of the war of summer 2006.

It is not clear which Lebanese organization staged the attack – whether Palestinians, al Qaeda, which known to have a strong presence in the Palestinian Ain Hilwah camp near Sidon in South Lebanon, or drug traffickers. Hamas too is engaged in building a base in this camp and has begun cooperating with al Qaeda."
